I was at our pool today and I think the deepest it is at the one end is around six feet, or maybe it's five feet..... No diving board here -- given the small size of the pool in general and the relative shallowness of it in most of its capacity, diving into it off a board wouldn't be safe, I suspect -- and with the exception of those who are actively swimming laps, most people seem to hang out in the depth in which they feel most comfortable, especially if they are with a child or children. I think the shallow end is at around 2 1/2 feet or so.

Yes, but at least you don't have your power switches upside-down...
And we can switch stuff off at the socket - very handy as you get on a bit - as soon as you hit 70 it's essential you start to go round the house last thing at night switching off absolutely everything at the socket. 😉(Apart from the kettle, that never gets switched off).

It's open all year around but they'll close during the coldest months for any upkeep though. Our complex is pretty big, 50+ buildings. Most are military. We've got garages for every unit, connected.

My old complex had a smaller pool but they had two. I wish this pool had a deeper area like my old complex. Since there is only one pool here, the deepest it gets is 4 1/2 feet deep. The second pool at our old place was 6 feet deep.

I'd love to have a place with a deep pool that either I own or at a center less than a few miles away.

Today is not so great. After my heart condition kicked me over, I blacked out in front of an ULTA.

My knee is a little messed up.
Damn, I’m glad you didn’t die. Blacking out & falling can easily make you hit your head, have a brain bleed out and pass away within seconds. Happened to my moms best friend, she hasn’t really gotten over it.

Tonight I casually checked the Air Quality Index, but found it's very high here on the US East Coast due to the traveling smoke from the west (according to the EPA's AirNow site https://gispub.epa.gov/airnow/?tab=0&clayer=ozonepm&mlayer=none).

It's hazy outside but I thought oh, it's just another foggy summer night. Nope. In my location in the far northeast, normal is about 15-20 and tonight it's 122, an alert for sensitive groups. In the greater metro NY and Philadelphia, it's in the 170 range, with stronger warnings. Eeek.

There's a NY Times briefing about it too: https://www.nytimes.com/2021/07/20/us/wildfire-smoke-new-york-city.html

It's forecast to get back to normal over the next couple of days, thankfully.

Monsoon season is hitting us hard and I didn’t realize wipers were a yearly maintenance thing. I probably should have gotten them done a lot sooner, but tomorrow is better than never.

I have lived with depression for over fifteen years, it’s been hard, and sometimes even harder but the last five or six years have been increasingly better after EMDR therapy, but recently I’ve been feeling things start to slide, usual things people are dealing with, coronavirus / the governments ineptitude at dealing with coronavirus and travel restrictions meaning I’ve not seen my girlfriend in over 18 months.
Numbers are now worse than ever in my area of the UK and I don’t see any way out of it, that’s the ;@£/ that’s on my mind right now at 04:35 on a Wednesday morning on a boat in the North Sea.

Especially if they are latex rubber, as against silicone rubber, which should last a lot longer, if you can get them.
Alternatively, at the beginning of the next dry season you might try rubbing Armour-All into them each day for a few days. That should make them last longer.

I feel the depression thing. Found my life turned upside down despite being outwardly successful in landing my first real “job”. With it, I’ve been able to do so so much! It’s been chaos these past few weeks with rumor ******** going around, though.

Sorry to hear your struggling. Is your girlfriend in another country? If not couldn’t you meet up now?
I’ve seen many of the staff at work deeply affected by Covid mentality. It’s not going away anytime soon.

I'm lucky, I came to as I hit the ground with my knee. It helped me turn things around. I'm heading to my primary care doctor in an hour. My knee hurts a bit. I really hope I win my disability appeal. I've got a court date (Phone only) with a judge in October.

I have hearing loss, and at times horrible tinnitus. I have hearing aids with a tinnitus program that I can turn on that provides white noise to override the ringing in my ears to some degree. some days there is no tinnitus ringing, but at other times it is so loud that I have a hard time dealing with it. one or two days out of a week I might not have any tinnitus ringing, a couple of days of the week the ringing is minimal and lasts maybe an hour or so, but the bad days that ringing is there for 4 or 5 hours, some times steady, other times it's off and on and the tinnitus program helps a little but can still drive me crazy to some degree.

Finding it really hard to be productive in this heat. Can’t wait for the weekend when it’s supposed to drop quite a bit.

Me too. I get headaches in the heat. Don’t like summer at all but finding it unbearable at the moment, especially at night. Windows open, fan on, still hardly getting any sleep. Just exhausted all day.

Struggling with a rather persistent case of burnout and fatigue, maybe a bit of depression as well. Right now just trying to stay sane while going about the menial drudgery of life.

Same here with feeling down at times, especially in this unprecdented summer heat. Music helps me (especially classical but really everything), and following the "what are you listening too?" thread has some good suggestions and an upbeat feel.

I checked how the UK measures its AQI and it's on a scale of 1-10, so not surprising you found your area's to be 2. The UK's low index is 1-3. In the US it's measured on a scale of 0-500, and the low index is 0-50. The AQI I was referencing last night would be comparable to a range of 6-7 on the UK scale, I believe.

Well, that was a mistake.
I was picking through some left-over honey-soy chicken wings for lunch. I picked up and started chewing what looked like a nice piece of chicken. It turned out to be half a chilli that looked just like a wing-tip.
Ten seconds later my mouth is abusing my brain for being such an idiot...

Been having a hell of a time dealing with my Bipolar 2. The voices are always there but lately the suicidal ideation has been off the charts. It's rather annoying to be doing basic things and your mind wander to how it would kill you from it. Example... drinking my water and my brain drifts to..."so how much water could I drink before it becomes deadly." Driving over a bridge...."So how fast would I need to go to be able to flip my car over the guardrail."

Ugh.
