I dunno, growing up going to the Skyline drive-in in Port Moresby during the '60s and '70s, was just one of those experiences.
Arriving late for Star Wars and having to go down the front where the screen was so big, and that opening scene with the space ship just coming out of the top of the screen, almost overhead. There's nothing that competes these days...

I don't know. I like to experience a classical concert in a beautiful concert hall with magnificent sound and enjoy it with others. Something to be said for some public things.
"a classical concert in a beautiful concert hall with magnificent sound" is a far cry from a movie theater full of, well, you know.

I am thinking about the status or lack of status about online things today.
Like the high status online things had long time ago vs the non-status of it today.
Today I value things, meetings and people irl so much much more.
It might also have to do with the pandemic that have made clarifications of what matters intensely more crystallized.
Certainly online forums with certain directions like this have its purpose and value. A lot more than social media for instance. Social media are like a species that are out-dying, where strange people try to use everything and everyone to their own benefits. Where ethics, respect for people’s integrity have been erased more and more it seems.
However, I am enjoying the returning to a life after the pandemic, and what matters now. Things have indeed changed these last ~2 years.

I think the issue was about completely avoiding going out in public. "The less I have to do with the public in general the better I like it."
"completely avoiding" and "less to do with" are hardly the same thing.
The former ("completely avoiding") is an absolute, which I never said I do.
The latter ("less to do with") is a method of avoiding (within reason) the general public because of their lack of consideration, bad manners, loud demeanor, poorly behaved children, careless and aggressive driving (often with phone in hand - illegal where I live).

As I am getting older, I seriously feel like I should be doing more. Mainly on the physical or exercise front. Working at a desk all day, has some serious cons.

Am certainly not fond of running. So, I will have to think of something, and quickly.
Hiking does it for me.
There's nothing like leashing up the dog and spending a couple of hours a day (every day) on the trails.
Keeps the muscles, joints, heart, brain, and lungs moving without repetitious or high impact work.
I'm fortunate to be retired and live in a national forest.

I tend to Ten concerts I went when in College, it was 10 concerts I've been too all by the 21! Being a part of College Radio station we received at least 4 tickets to their show in town! As a young adult I took a girlfriend to Beach Boys concert at outdoor concert (during the Summer)! Seeing them play some older a newer stuff they released in 80s! good time but now retired I'm on fixed budget and can't get free tickets anymore! Before you ask I as Finance Officer got funding to make the station twice large when a music room next store closed down! So the staff thought I should get the extra tickets my senior year!

Sitting here totally regretting a few years ago, that I left a company I was working for.
I know 'they' say one should not regret things. But, this one hurts a little...

PS: The grass is not always greener, sometimes we just have to bear through the awful stuff.

Very popular over here. Scottish drink. Orange. Do you have it over there?
Ok just checked wiki and apparently it was invented in New York and somehow became Scotland's "other" national drink. (No need to say what the "other" is). Plus it is spelled Irn-Bru in an early example of text speak. ;) Never tried it as am trying to cut down on soft drinks (as I just downed a sugar free Red Bull).

Irn Bru

Sugar-free, Caffeine-free Coke.

Why bother. Used dishwater tastes better and has more nutrients.
The whole idea of Coke (and its descendants Red Bull & Co) is to provide you with a stimulant (caffeine, taurine, etc) and the energy (sugar) to use it.
Taking out the sugar and caffeine simply leaves you with the flavour (trade secret) and phosphoric acid.

I prefer the taste of Diet Coke. Regular Coke is just too sweet. Not caffeine free though.

Irn Bru...... A few years ago I heard about this beverage and since I was at that point all enthused about many things Scottish, I wanted to try it. Don't remember now where I finally got ahold of what was supposed to be the authentic Irn Bru, but I stashed the container in the fridge and then one day got it out and opened it. Poured some into a glass and took my first sip...and a second.... Ehhhhh...... Well, let's just say that I didn't come anywhere near finishing off that Irn Bru and the rest went down the sink. Glad to have had the experience, but thanks just the same, in the future if it is offered to me, I'll pass! :)

Artificial sweeteners in drinks and foods..... To me there is something too "chemical" tasting (some sort of what I perceive as an unpleasant aftertaste) in diet sodas, and I just don't like that. Going beyond that, though, in the past I have had unpleasant physical reactions to drinking or eating anything with Nutrasweet or one of the other artificial sweeteners. Seems to do funny things to my blood sugar levels or my insulin levels; never worked that out exactly through to an actual clinical explanation as to what actually does happen, but I just prefer to simply avoid that scenario.

I'll just stick with the regular (albeit naturally-sugared) versions of the soft drinks or other products, thanks! Actually, it is a pretty much moot point since I rarely partake of soft drinks, anyway, I'm much happier with coffee, iced tea, natural juices and water on an everyday basis anyway.

When many years ago I was in treatment for Anorexia Nervosa, this avoidance of artificially sweetened products really astonished the clinicians, as it was pretty much the "norm" that clients would need to be weaned off caffeine and also so-called "diet drinks" and artificial sweetener-containing "diet foods". The weaning-off of caffeine (in my case, coffee) wasn't fun but for me it wasn't nearly as difficult as it was for others who were used to consuming loads (several liters) of artificially-sweetened, caffeine-laden "soft drinks" each day.

I would be asked, "but how could and would you willingly drink something sugar-laden such as fruit juice every day?" and my answer was simple: it satisfied my hunger urges, at least for a while, and I could go for longer periods where I didn't need to bother with eating (what I perceived as) calorie-laden food.....

Can't recall when I drank any kind of coke, soda, or anything similar. Definitely not anything with sugar. When out dining or elsewhere I prefer water, mineral water, or wine.
My own kombucha brewing provide me with the beverage I need aside water, espresso and some tea at home.
I do use stevia (which is a herb) in my espresso and tea though.

I don't go to the gym and such, but, I try to be constantly doing things around the house to get the heart racing a little (cleaning, and such).

Earlier, I hand washed a Mustang GT and an Explorer ST, and am bloody knackered.

Amazing that something so 'simple' can tire one out...
