That is what they do. They were simply marking the territory that they owned and allowed you to live in ... provided you fed them. Gotta love cats.
The crazy thing is that each cat has his own character, so if you have multiple cats it’s virtually impossible to have all of them on the same page (Still not as bad as Congress). The only thing they agree on is that hoomans should serve them better.

By the way, we welcomed a new kitten (1 month old) in our house. I was tricked into it by my wife, so we’re back to four.

He’s incredibly active, like non stop running and playing and jumping and pushing stuff. He found out that it’s lots of fun to just climb over my pants while I am standing doing something, making sure to claw into my leg’s skin as much as possible.

He’s quickly becoming friend with our other youngest cat. Oldest cat, the new queen, can’t stand the new arrival; she already adjusted his attitude a couple of times. Middle cat is still in shock, but I think she’ll eventually accept him.

I am still having a hard time wrapping my head around it when I see the words "King Charles III" under a photo of him. I suspect that many of us will for a long time still think of the man as "Prince Charles," which of course he has been for the entire lifetimes of many people, and until September 8th, including his own, and for most of the lifetimes of the rest of us who are a little older. As an American I can only imagine how unsettling all of this is for many British people! Queen Elizabeth was....well, just always here in the world, and now she's not. Definitely takes some adjusting-to, this whole thing.

From time to time I've looked in on and spent a while watching the live streaming of the "Queue" and marveling and applauding those who have steadfastly stood in line for hours and hours, braved the dark and the chill and endured the absence of many of life's usual comforts, in order to pay homage to their beloved Queen. She served her country for her entire life and it is nice to see recognition of that now, plus the display of respect and heartfelt affection for her....

The queue, and the queue for the queue, is inspiring. Seeing Beckham and Swinton queuing like everyone else is inspiring to a country where ego and personality are more important than society and common good. Too bad that the greater good and civility aren't as important here in the U.S.

Think the Prime Minister of New Zealand was exempted, most likely for security purposes.

Lots of people were exempt from queuing. MP’s and their guests for example.
But on my mind today is work stuff. Been at a trad show for three days. Today is a day off because they closed it, then back tomorrow. Will cost us a fortune as a company. So that’s on my mind.
Certainly not the queen’s funeral. I’ll be skipping that as I have no interest in the royal family.

I don’t mind heads of state skipping the queue but it was disgusting for MPs to skip it and just shows how out of touch they are with the feelings of the British people. As for Schofield and Willoughby skipping it, they should be sacked or their show boycotted

True - the only way to tell what a kitten will be like is to see how the mother interacts with them. Like human parents, cat moms differ in how well they take care of kittens and this feeds into kittens' behaviour as adults. Thbis is why I am always a little cuatious if my family proposes to adopt a shelter cat - most of the time you never now how the cat was raised and this can make for an interesting experience being owned by the cat.

Anyway, it could be worse. My little ones let our cats into our living room, where the cats decided to scratch and claw our leather sofa. Suffice it to say a battle erupted among the cats, my then wife, and my kids about who owned the house. The cats won.

In other news, I left work around 7 PM, took the train back from the won I wok (Nyon) to Geneva and by the time I got back to my home - I usually cycle to and from the main station, it was dark. Goodbye summer.
The autumnal equinox is on the 22nd. Still more daylight than night for a two more days. :)

It’s definitely interesting to see people in the 21 st century still praising their, or any, monarchs. The soap that never ends.
Can't be worse then those who praise celebrities for no particular reason.

Living in a monarchy myself I understand the reason for it. I am not praising it, but it gives some stability.
I rather live in a monarchy then a republic.

I can agree that any praise for celebrities is also weird, but usually monarchs have a history within their country, and they tend to stick around as long as they can before the people remove them, so ultimately as usual it always comes down to what the people are willing to take.
I prefer a republic where elected representatives hold the majority of the power any day to a system that has a monarch in place. Thankfully the French Revolution happened.

After a really warm summer (though we avoided the record high temperatures where I am!) it's definitely gotten cold quickly. Afternoons are still nice in the sun, but we've been dropping well into single digit temperatures overnight 🥶

This brings up an interesting observation, I feel that the Scandinavian and Benelux monarchies are somewhat dare I say "republican" in their style which is very low-key and not pretentious. The French Republic on the other hand has a lot of pomp and ceremony around the president and state affairs, see the July 14 parade on the Champs Elysee.

Of course the preseident is elected in France and the office holds a defined role in the constitution with a lot of power - like in the US. The monarchs in Sweden, Belgium etc. are not elected but hold an important role in the life of the state and seems to be well-respected.

Thinking about the turmoil in the Chess world. Truly getting out of hand with crazy theories floating around.

The breakdown:

Part I - The match and infamy
1) World Champion and highest rated player in history Magnus Carlsen meets GM Hans Neimann for a chess match at a big tournament.
2) Carlsen plays white and is at an advantage.
3) Neimann wins the game.
4) Neimann refuses to be interviewed and simply says “Chess speaks for itself.”
5) Carlsen drops from the big tournament and tweets about dropping without any follow up or explanation.
6) Neimann explains that he prepared for the line Carlsen played by looking at Carlsen’s past games.
6b) Issue: Carlsen only played that line only once his life.
7) Carlsen claims Neimann cheated.
7b) Chess.com reveals that Neimann was expelled twice for cheating
8) Grandmasters all around the world are verifying the game. It is claimed that many of Neimann’s moves in the game are what chess engines (=bots) recommend. Others claim that there is no evidence of cheating.

Part II - Theories go wild
1) Theory #1 begins taking traction: there is a mole in Carlsen’s camp that revealed to Neimann what Carlsen was working on. By playing the obscure line Carlsen found evidence of it and the identity of such mole.
2) Theory #2 which is now the most popular: Neimann utilized the same scheme of the vibrating shoe to get best moves communicated to him, but this time using anal beads. Yes: vibrating anal beads.

Part III - In progress
1) A new big tournament (online) is in progress.
2) Carlsen and Neimann are drafted to play against each other.
3) The game begins, Neimann plays white.
4) The actual game: Neimann moves. Carlsen Moves. Neimann moves. Carlsen resigns! Game over in 1.5 moves.
5) Chess world is shocked. No one knows what to do. The world champion is refusing to play, he won’t defend his title, and one of the biggest rising stars is accused of cheating.

To be continued.

Cat's are buttheads... signed a cat owner. My favorite is we have a large breeze way in the house and it has great acoustics... You know how I know this. Our cat, loves to sing the song of his people at 0500 hours almost on the daily! Nothing like hearing the loud songs of the cat in the morning... even our doggies are like what the hell man!

Well, works as a good alarm clock. I mean, he’s up earlier than 5AM so you have no excuse.
