It may be this way now in North America as well, here in Europe (at least where I live) you must pay so much per minute when you call some companies. If I need to get info or need to speak with my telecom company I am lucky that I can walk to the large mall in 15 minutes and do it in person. I believe I could do some things online for free but I as I cannot communicate well in the local language and the sites have little English, I go to do it in person in English.NO BUSINESS SEEMS TO WANT TO ANSWER THEIR PHONES ANY MORE! 🤬
Ok, how about most? 🤯

Agreed but that’s a pretty steep increase.Me, too…!
But, honestly, most services are increasing their prices. So, I knew it was only a matter of time. Next it will be my Google subscription and Microsoft 365 prices going up…
Yeah, Capitalism. 😳Me, too…!

In all fairness, I don’t think that there is a single system ever invented by humans - and quite possibly by aliens - that is not subject to awful price swings.Yeah, Capitalism. 😳
I should have said, yeah Humans. In all fairness, I don’t think that there is a single system ever invented by humans - and quite possibly by aliens - that is not subject to awful price swings.
As a matter of fact, I too can be a trilionaire:

I was seriously just going to post about this, and this was what popped up when I opened this thread. I can see needing to raise prices, but why also so high of a %, and some do it multiple times a YEAR. We had just gotten YT Music Premium Family for $14.99 on a free trial, and then I saw "Oh cool, only $3 to get all Premium. Then like the next day this. Insta Cancel
Exactly. It's the amount, the frequency, and that EVERYONE is raising prices way faster than wages can hope to match. I mean at least this is just entertainment, but even needs are way out of control. I don't see how anyone can also afford the frivolous things spiking tooAgreed but that’s a pretty steep increase.
It's a poor little company, they and their employees need to survive 😌… and now AppleOne price increase.
Between YT and AO that’s $8/mo or $96/yr. more than before just in a few days.
Not a small price increase.
I've tried for years to find some game that I can play from time to time, but I always get bored with them or get alarmed that I'm on my phone too much, usually the latter.I’ve resisted for a few years, but now it’s official: I am addicted to Sudoku. I usually play Grid Logic Problems, but last week I tried sudoku. I am in now, which is a shame because I am/was working on some very detailed notes on an item that I wanted to use for my series on breviaries on the What are you reading? thread.
I play sudoku and puzzles on paper, on purpose, which is something I recommend you to do. I am trying to be as analog as possible. You can find good puzzle/sudoku magazines for $1 at dollar stores.I've tried for years to find some game that I can play from time to time, but I always get bored with them or get alarmed that I'm on my phone too much, usually the latter.
Apple paused it. If it bothers you enough, I hope you will speak up to Apple: apple.com/feedbackShould we be surprised that Apple show no discernment re ads?
No, I won't waste my time with Apple on that.Apple paused it. If it bothers you enough, I hope you will speak up to Apple: apple.com/feedback
That way lies madness.I play sudoku and puzzles on paper, on purpose, which is something I recommend you to do. I am trying to be as analog as possible. You can find good puzzle/sudoku magazines for $1 at dollar stores.
@yaxomoxay: Weimar Germany is (possibly) the most famous example of this sort of wild (and insane) inflation in the (modern) "western world" when the currency crumbled (between 1921-23) and finally completely crashed - and lost its value - in 1923.In all fairness, I don’t think that there is a single system ever invented by humans - and quite possibly by aliens - that is not subject to awful price swings.

I didn’t even consider this to be honest. But, for Our Transatlantic Cousins Across The Pond, it may be worth recalling that the currency issued by the Confederacy underwent a similar (drastic, dramatic, devastating) devaluation during the lifetime of the Confederacy. Actually, it underwent a series of dramatic/drastic/devastating devaluations, and their paper money ended the American Civil War with a great many zeros added.
