It goes both ways. People complain that a phone is too big to be used one handed.

And those people should buy whatever works for them while allowing others to do the same.

I'm all for folks voicing their personal preference, but my personal preference isn't better than yours and yours isn't better than mine.

I 100% agree! I have long loved the Note's size and wished Apple would make a phone the same size. I for one am so happy they did but on the other hand I know it isn't for everyone.

Where I live (upstate NY) if you are caught talking or texting on your cell they give you a big fat ticket ($300+) and marks on your license like a speeding ticket. They have unmarked SUV's driving around looking for offenders. I just heard Vermont is going to start doing the same.

People who can use a phone one-handed while doing something else with the other hand are simply a more evolved species. "Two-handers" who don't get why it's such a big deal to be able to use a phone one-handed probably aren't going to be capable of comprehending the advantages, even when the advantages are explained to them.

Trying to compensate?

If you've never used your phone one handed from the start then it's not a big deal, but for people who have, it's a pretty big deal.

Already a few examples were given...in the car for example, or if you're carrying something in your other hand like a briefcase, or if you're holding on to a railing on a subway, or if you're at a party holding a drink in one hand, or at a game, or maybe you're eating with your other hand and holding a fork...or your hand is dirty from holding hot wings...I could go on... ;)

and if you're lying in bed and reading this forum ....using one hand to reply to this post. I'm a right handed person but I use my phone in the left hand and my thumb gets plenty of type action. lol...all of this typed with my thumb.

Why do so many people care about being able to use their phone one handed. Apart from phone calls, in which of course you want to be able to hold your phone up to your with one hand.

Maybe it's because I already have smaller hands for a guy. To me, even the 5s is awkward to use one handed. It'll be a little more awkward with the 6 plus, but not impossible. Most of the time, though, I use it two-handed.

Well, my friend only has one usable hand, so one handed use is pretty important to him.

One handed use is important when you're driving and you need to quickly open maps, enter an address, and get directions.

Or when you're walking to your car and need to look up the number for a restaurant to make reservations/call in a to-go order and your purse/keys/bags/briefcase are in the other hand.

Or when you're holds hands with your loved one walking the mall and you need to respond to friends asking what the plans are for the evening/weekend.

Ya know, stuff like that.

Ya know, stuff like Siri.

I know of a person who has only 1 hand (because the left arm is amputated at the elbow down as a child), so it matters to him. Also, while caring for a small child who is only 16 months old, I was often one-handed while rocking and keeping my baby asleep I the other arm, which is why one-handed usage matters to me. Other parents of small babies probably feel the same, especially those with small hands. Btw, I am a guy.

So is the one handed person staying with the 5s? How about you?

The problem is you don't realize how often you use your phone one handed until it's gone. On Monday I went to Wendy's for lunch by myself and decided to peruse Flipboard while eating. I had such a hard time navigating the screen that I was tempted to return my 6 and get a 5s. Reading Flipboard on my iPhone 5 was easy while I held a fork in the other hand.

And I'm just the opposite. I didn't realize how little one handed meant to me till I had to use the Note series phones for awhile. I fell in love with the size and couldn't wait to get an iPhone the same size.

When I'm on set and someone comes over the walkie, needing information that I use my iPhone to look up, one handed use comes in pretty darn handy.

And that's why I got the 6.

this. when in the chair, sometimes the MUA needs an arm or hand for specific make up (fake bruises, blood, zombie bites, open wounds, body paint, etc).
Backstage for runway shows there is always a nail tech running around doing mani touch ups, and it's important to be able to be free one handed so you can check the time, updates, etc.
Same goes for trying to eat during craft services and brush up on your lines/scenes/next location/appointment/schedule.

The life of an actor/model is rough. The struggle is real. #firstworldproblems.
