Yes, but wouldn’t an employee with his level of access still have known how to defeat the failsafe system? Remember, they were a pretty thinnly staffed operation. (Can’t believe we’re debating Jurassic park...)
Best move would have required multiple users to access anything beyond primary systems.

They never tested the system if it went down either. Another horrible oversight when they didn't even know if it would come back online. And where is the security to make sure nobody could tamper with it.

Go dine in at a restaurant... Thank God I live in Texas so our restrictions are already being lifted and should be over soon!
till you guys blow up and it is far worse. some people can nevr learn from examples.
It’s a free country so if someone rather stay at home that’s up to them but then saying “life isn’t back to normal” when the state is open doesn’t quite make sense
your not free if your dead.

Just because you aren't locked up, doesn't mean "life is normal".

Just because you're permitted to do something doesn't mean its a good idea.

I mean there's nothing to stop me drinking 3 bottles of wine a night either, but that's a dumb idea for my health

Ditto for going outside and exposing yourself to un-necessary risk when there's the worst global pandemic in 100 years going down...

Fairly convinced at this point that the OP is a troll, as he seems impervious to reason and common sense.

Before the California beaches were closed, I knew people that went way out of their way to go to the beach, because... it's not closed, so it's not bad right?

On the news tonight they reported on what happened when all those people went to the beach recently before California closed the beaches. Surge in infections 5 days later.

If you ignore New York, infections nationally are rising. Some rural areas are now becoming the hot spots.

Totally agree with you. Especially your last point.

I'd say keep an eye on the what the wealthy towns outside of DC do. Lots of national leadership declaring this or that, but what they say with their mouths isn't as important as what they say by their actions - what they're doing at home.

For example, Chevy Chase MD is a wealthy suburb of DC where many congressmen and powerful lobbyists live. Are they lifting stay-at-home orders for their loved ones? Nope! That speaks louder to me.

Why are states opening then?
[automerge]1588553497[/automerge]

Not really. Most of twitter is just funny memes

States are opening mostly for money reasons, medically and mathematically there is no reason to believe it is a good time in the US to open back up, we haven't hit even the peak of the disease in the US, we are going to get an enormous surge in the coming weeks with the opening of the beaches and restaurants we are seeing on the news. However since the government has shut everything they are paying the unemployment, once we are back open, we go back to normal rules for unemployment and the employers pay part/all of unemployment and the state and federal government are saving money, as fewer will be taking unemployment and those that are will be paid at least partially by the employer. Its short sighted (but welcome to the US government, where math is a 4 letter word) because once we are opened lots of places will probably go under, as lots of interviews have shown, 25% occupancy for a restaurant is basically fatal for 90+% of restaurants. Once we are open your disaster insurance isnt paying your rent anymore at your business, but how long can you survive with 25% business and large increase in unemployment payments? I mean in the US 6% of those who we know have the disease are dead, just over 13% have recovered and over 80% still have the disease at this point. Those aren't numbers that shout out that we are doing great, time to open up to anyone with an IQ over 75. Number wise the only state of our 50 states which could point to opening is Montana, and they are doing it way slower then Florida, California, Georgia and Texas you know the dumb states who are planning on killing a bunch of their people.

Finally, since you are bragging about your state, and your super smart governor, we all REALLY, REALLY want to know which state you live in, so we see how this works out for you.

Not sure why you are lumping CA in there, as I believe we were first in the nation to shut down, have a low rate of cases, and also haven't opened back up yet.

The problem with Covid and Ca is that opening the majority of the beaches is just not a good idea with Covid as rampant as it is, plus the CA homeless situation mixed with Covid is a nightmare by itself. Tomorrows move to Phase 2 is probably too early I would wait another week to see what effect the Beach Openings have to your numbers before moving to Phase 2. Numbers are going to spike next week for Ca, we know that, its just math, but its going to be hard to figure out with as infectious as this is, whether its the beach openings or the Phase 2 changes that cause the majority of it. Noone is going to say I was on the beach watching the surfers with a bunch of my buddies way less than 6 feet apart, they will say I have no idea how I caught it. Most of the pictures of huge crowds on the beaches are notable from Florida, but some of them are in Ca, literally in Fla, the cops are busting up groups of 30 or 50 people who are on the beach because apparently they think Sand is a Covid Vaccine.

Hah. "all this testing" makes us look bad ??!!?!

By doing all this talking, Trump just makes himself look like a complete dunce.

The reasons for jacking up our testing capability and practices are to allow contact tracers to recommend quarantine for those who have turned up exposed to a positive case of Covid-19.

It's the combination of contact tracing, testing and social distancing that will flatten the spread of the illness until a vaccine is available or herd immunity gradually makes it more difficult for the coronavirus to make that next hop. The main thing is to prevent spikes in infection rates while there are still so many people who have no immunity.

Lockdowns have been about doing the best we can via mitigation after such a late start in some areas that contact tracing isn't even possible until the curve flattens out more.

Not that Trump seems to care. He just wants "the numbers" to look good. That can't happen until people not yet infected know whom to avoid... since they can't get vaccinated against Covid-19 yet.

Dear Mr. President: which one of these idiots d'ya think infected a family member later that week? How about which one infected a cashier at the convenience store after the gas buy on the way home? You want numbers, sir? Those will have been numbers on the loose and rising right now, no thanks to your muddying the waters with your disrespect for counsel of your own science and public health staffers.

A few medical care providers / administrators in Russia have recently departed their jobs and this life through windows in upper stories of hospitals, for reasons not yet made clear to inquiring journos or members of the public.

"Falling" out of windows has occasionally happened to people who got on the wrong side of the Russian "gubbermint" over this or that issue, but it's not known if these deaths were that sort of thing. There were reports that pressures related to the exigencies of caring for coronavirus patients while enduring shortages of equipment or protective gear had been a factor. Other reports suggested official displeasure was expressed to several caregivers (prior to their falling out of windows at their job sites) either about complaints by those caregivers regarding the shortages, or in one case complaints that the caregiver infected other workers

Anyway those caregivers aren't going to be doing anything when this madness is over. They're done.

If you don't exercise your rights, the gubbermint will take them away!
Well if you want to stay home cowering next to your hoard of toilet paper that's your choice. I'm still not 💩 my pants yet and I've eaten at a restaurant TWICE. The super scary thing is I only have a small four roll pack of toilet paper at home. I don't think I'll survive the "second wave" 😂😂
