When signing up for my first email account with AOL, I tried my full (first and last) name, which was taken, so I took my first name, Eric, and added the first three letters of my last name, Nau. ...And that's how "EricNau" was born.

I was into DJing when I joined MR. My "nick name" was DJMastaWes.
If I could rename my username, I would have it be WYendrys.
Yendrys = my last name, W = first letter of my first name, it's also my website.

I was writing an Abstract for my physics lab report in my 3rd year Physics lab back when I was doing my B.Sc. in Canada. I couldn't think of a name, so I just chose Abstract. Actually, I chose that for another message board, and just decided to use that name here as well. Easier for me to remember my login name.

I really wish that wasn't my name. It makes it sound as though I'm a form of art people feel is pretentious. That, or I feel that my thoughts are really complex and "special" or something.

mine is my screen name on about every forum im apart of..
except my mobileme email has one more number

and it was my first aol screen name.. i had a hard time deciding on a name.. ( i was 11 ) so i had aol make me one.. and kept it ever since

i get asked about it all the time and can never explain it :p

let me start from the start. I am brazilian, born from brazilian parents, and raised in brazil for the first half of my life; however I was constantly traveling back and forth between brazil and the USofA. That being said....

My brazilian uncle used to play with me and say that I was really annoying when I was little. He used to call me "pentelho" which, aside from meaning pube, in portuguese, means someone that is very nagging and annoying.
He then tried to take advantage of my "americanized" self to make fun of me, so he called me pentelho in his own version of english, which came out as "penter."

It doesn't sound as strange in portuguese, and it actually stuck.
I am very happy with it

:)

Here is one talkative soul. https://forums.macrumors.com/members/22630/

So, first two names. :D

LMAO i can't even understand what he's saying, that's how much he talks.

I tried everything I could think of. All were taken.

Then out of a whim, because I had just eaten sushi, I entered sushi...and it worked.

but you joined SO long ago, what such popular user names were you trying?

Better than my screen name. I am merely a food type. :p

"Sushi. That's what my ex-wife called me - cold fish." ;) So, who can guess this quote's origin?

I was playing some Wing Commander Prophecy back in the days which included a co-pilot named Zero. I was running out of ideas when trying to sign up to a message board, so I tried that one - which was already taken of course. So I came up with a different "spelling" and have used it almost everywhere since.

I forget the specific ones that I tried as it has been a while ago, but it was a few. All that I could think off at the time were taken, so I got a bit frustrated. I had just had a wonderful sushi dinner, so I thought, what the heck, and entered it, and it took.

I think I should ask Q if I can call myself Sashimi, or Sushi Jr. Who wants to be like Mike? I want to be cold, uncooked fish.

Mac = well, that's pretty obvious, Mac user since '87 and the Mac SE

Dawg = University of Georgia Bulldogs (hence the avatar)

No, I am not a grad (even though I was once enrolled in pre-med, I never attended). I am just a fan from back in the early 60's when Coach Dooley took over the program in '64

The avatar is Uga, the English bulldog mascot and "G" is for Georgia

Woof, Woof - Dawg

i'm short 5'2"
i'm a hunter (deer, moose, grouse)

while the hunt gang was gathered in the middle of the forest for a break, I had my touque on, but pushed the sections over the ears up to help regulate heat and to hear better.

during a break in our chat where to hunt next, one of the guys said, "geezus, you look like one of those keebler elves from the cookie commercials."

that nn has stuck with me as everyone in the hunt gang has one.
