Well, my 400GB in the iMac is called "PotterGirl" after myself and my other vocation. The drive on my upgraded G3 is simply NS, since it's the Web server. And, my external drive is "Valinor".

How about an underscore and a 2 (eg: external300_2) 😉

Mine is "Xenophobic", in keeping with my "-ic" scheme of naming machines and devices.

😕 why would you choose such a heinous concept for your hard drive?

edit: corrected typo. (as usual) I must have some form of keyboard-dyslexia: i tend to frequnetly swithc teh order fo letters

He's getting awfully close to requiring a companion. 😱

Lil' Stinker (previously known as "Evil Hard Drive"). Earned its name when it went online via neighbor's airports, getting me free DSL for a year (I noticed when I got a Software Upgrade Available notice). What a Lil' Stinker! I now have my own DSL & a passworded Airport Express. 😉

PB - Macintosh HD. Cube - Macintosh HD. G5 - Untitled. LaCie External - LaCie Disk. USB Memory Stick - PKBAK #001. None of these have been changed from their origional names

Powerbook HD - Sulaco
Dell Latitude HD - Nostromo
Powermac G5 HD (Work) - LV-426
iPod Shuffle - Narcissus
USB Key #1 - Dropship1
USB Key #2 - Dropship2
USB Key #3 - Betty
Powermac G4 HD (Sawtooth) - Gateway Station
External HD - Auriga

Can you tell what my favorite movies are? 😉

Hm. Never really thought of it before. Just called mine Hard Drive and BackUp. Computer's name is... Computer. PC is just C: Drive, D: Drive, and E: Drive. Shuffle is just called Shuffle. Kinda boring that. I should change them. Someday.

I went for a Futurama theme at work...Zapp, Zoidberg, Farnsworth, Bender

Haven't named the drives on my new machine yet 🙂

Duff-Man says....mine all have a common element to them....anyone know what it is? ....oh yeah!

Used to name all of my Computers were named Digit# after the Muppet android on the Jim Henson hour. Now I've branched a little and started utilizing other Muppet names. Floyd and Janice are the PCs in our office. My PB is Bunsen (VPC is Beaker). I just renamed my iPod to Waldo C. Graphic, and our backup drive will either be Sweetums or Thog, with our second backup getting the unused name.

Big Mac = eMac's harddrive (I can't believe no one else has that. I guess it really is super lame)
Our school's Xserve (I think it's an Xserve G4 or G5 that it's on...) is named BigMac and the teacher one is 'FortKnox' or something like that.

Mines really lame, however thanks to this thread im thinking up new names. Never have been good at it though 😱
