Duff-Man says....mine all have a common element to them....anyone know what it is? ....oh yeah!
Are they all taken from titles of films directed by Werner Herzog?

So... do I get an 'oh yeah! or an 'oh no!'? 😀

I finally renamed my drives.

drivenames.jpg

Mine are named in keeping with the "size" theme (the two Firewire ones are just two partitions)

So they're male partitions, are they? Anyway, what's wrong with "megas"?
🙂

You have a good point there. Perhaps I should neuter them! 😀

"Megas" isn't a work in any language I know. Do you not think so?

Look it up in your Liddell & Scott...
🙄

"The regular version "megalos" is never used in singular nominative and accusative masculine and neuter"...
😀

Hence "omega".

heh, I don't have one of those. My Greek is somewhat embryonikos. 🙂

Shame, I don't think "megas" has quite the same ring as "megalos". I must take it up with my contacts.

For the mini you could have "meistos" or "meiston" = smallest... 😉
Or "elachistos/n" if you want to be really idiomatic.

Am I grammatically correct now? If not I'll change it to something different ("Kounoupi" and "Papagalos" are some thoughts, don't ask why)

Better. But you're mixing Latin and Greek....
Keep it clean.

Yes I reaslied that. But seeing as the name of the computer is "mini" I felt I kind of had to stick with it. Oh, now I'm just filled with doubts... 😕

Major, minor and minimus?

Hmm, they don't tickle my fancy. I guess I just have a thing for Greek, it just sounds more elegant (and still in use today!). But I do need some sort of logic to the naming system or I'll never remember which drive is which.

Duff-Man says.....oh yeah - you a big oh yeah!.....uhhhh.......oh yeah!

My first harddrive was named Lucile (Cool Hand Luke rules). However, that died and I lost almost everything. After the Repair I got an external for back up and media purposes. The Media drive is named Lucile II in memoriam. My main harddrive in PBook is now named Phoenix and the back up is Ashes. Just in case it dies again, this time the Phoenix will rise again from the ashes.
