So why don't you tell me why apple wouldn't block the exploit in iOS 5 had there been no leak.

Actually, the original argument is why 4.3.0-4.3.3 would no longer get a jailbreak, but you didn't even try to defend confucious on that one.

Please tell me you're smart enough to understand what is wrong with this statement. You downloaded something that he did not want you to have, made a copy of it, and uploaded onto your own site WITHOUT PERMISSION. It's called intellectual property theft. It's copyright infringement. It's theft. It's a crime. It's legally prosecutable.

If Comex decides he wants to pursue this legally, to put this as delicately as I can, you're screwed. If I were you, I'd hope that he's a lot more forgiving than you deserve.

I do indeed have a life outside of the internet. I'm sorry I can't spend 24/7 on a forum. Comex never confirmed or denied whether or not it would work on iOS5.. I googled what everyone was talking about and the tweet every "news" blog seems to be referring to never even mentioned iOS 5.
I'm a lot more than just "another forum poster". I know this probably won't mean much and I don't really play this card, but check the lists of who Musclenerd, p0sixninja, ih8sn0w, c1de0x, copumpkin, etc. are following for a better idea of why when I say "trust me", people usually listen ;)

You REALLY aren't familiar with the way the law and intellectual property works, are you?

Your comments may sound good to you, but they are far from being accurate..

He merely said there would be no way to claim significant damages so what is he going to sue over? There could be a police report filed for the theft, but I doubt the cyber detectives would rush out to lock him up for 50 years over that one.

Even if all potential avenues taken, the consequences wouldn't amount to "screwed". Of course, we all know nothing will happen to him over it. It is technically illegal though. So is jaywalking.

Well, in order for Comex to do that, he'd have to do so under his legal name, thus letting Apple know who HE is, and what's to stop them from going after him.. lol

Some Russian iOS forum has supposedly figured out they can reroutethe ip address from the .PDFs and jailbreak all wifi iPad 2s, there is a video of a jail broken 4.3.3 on the 3rd page.

I'm not going to bother trying until it appears there will be no official release today, but someone else might want to give it a shot.

Im trying now, server up and running, will report in 10 mins (probably) if success

I got the server up, with all the files downloaded.

iPad and server was on correct ip-adress.

I managed to connect to the server with the iPad.

Same result as when trying to do it normally, Safari closes, nothing happens...

Wonder what magic the russian guy did.

TL;DR THE SERVER SETTING UP AND JAILBREAKING DIDNT WORK.

@demonknight9 i had some problems (running on my parents comp) so it took longer than expected
edit:reply

Going to try putting it in a subfolder named saffron also

edit2: still not working
And im doing it right ;)

Since I posted it theyve added posts at the end saying the people who got it to work had significant bugs and you should probably just wait and others cant get it to work.

So yeah, its probably not worth trying.

I should bookmark this thread for the future when people whine about wanting unfinished jailbreaks and remind them. Unfinished jailbreaks aren't worth the time and effort :)

But... But next time will be different. Next time they'll have a ton of really important tweaks they want. Next time well had to have waited months for the jailbreak!

Next time I won't go out and get the freshest iOS device on launch day and wait for an actual jailbreak before I go get it!

Embedded youtube video

has anyone seen this?

Why? Its not like they drop in price. You really think there will never be a jailbreak?

Even though I am increasingly becoming pessimistic on anything happening anytime soon, I still am glad I bought my iPad2. I even don't regret waiting so long to replace the one I bought because of light bleed.

I don't want to get my hopes up - or anyone else's - but just checking jailbreakme.com has a new message "We'll be back soon." Hmmm.....

honestly... with the domain is on auction on godaddy, it's probably a better idea for comex to get a new domain first before release the JBM3.0. There is no garuntee what the new owner gonna do with the domain. If ends up some sicko buys it, we could all be visiting some unsafe site in couple days when we try to jailbreak the ipad2 for ourselves or friends.

Comex may already have another domain. Also, maybe that "We'll be right back" message is a good sign. You do make a good point about going to a potentially unsafe site
