This is a little odd, checking this order:

12 x 2.66, 8GB, 5870, ordered on day 1 in the UK

Using the widget I get: "Prepared for Shipment".
Using the link in my email from Apple I get: "Not yet shipped".

I believe that the widget uses the US store, the email links to the UK one. Both are the same order number for the same Mac Pro.

Anyone else had this?

Why did it go from 23/26 to shipped 17/24. Went from 3 day ship to 7?

Australian Apple Store is consistent with the widget/US site.. "Prepared for Shipment"...

Seems like the UK (Europe?) one is.. buggered? Lazy? Something? :p

still no change in status. hexacore with HD5870 ordered on the first day... europe -.-

In my experience, this is normal in the UK. The UK Apple Store doesn't have "Prepared for Shipment", but it is. If you log on to the UK order status bit, you will find that the Cancel Order option is no longer available. This is because it is about to ship.

Good call, you're right, thanks.

Its lucky that checking shipment status and tracking packages is one of my favorite things to do, I've got a great week ahead :)

Still annoys me that there is no reason for a Mac Pro to take any more than 48 hrs to ship to pretty much anywhere in the world, other than Apple skimping on shipping costs when I've just spent over £4k on a Mac.

So lo and behold - I get an email last night at 3 AM - my BTO Hex Core is shipping....well, been picked up and in the FedEx system.

sad news - estimated delivery date - Aug 24th

Still, I'll take a couple days early. Woot!!

D

So right! I big row with Apple Store over this issue with the iPhone 4. They advertised the iPhone as having "Fast Free Shipping", but it still took a week to ship. In 2010, how can this possibly be described as "Fast Shipping"

It won't seem as long a wait once it has come!:)

But, it's Fast Free Shipping.

Non-fast Free Shipping would take a month ;)

It's in Hong Kong!

Or at least it was at 10:30AM local time... (which was already 10 hours ago)

:apple: 8-core/2.4GHz stock, ordered day 1.

12-core 2.93, 12GB, 5870, UK.

Just shipped.

Knowing Apple's tracking I'll know nothing more of its whereabouts until it's in a van on the way to my house.

Saaaa---weeeeet

Shipped on: Aug 17, 2010 via TNT INTERNATIONAL EXPRESS - AP

That sounds about right... We don't really use FedEx in Australia (it's stupidly expensive).. TNT would be used.

Good to hear of a 12-core heading to the UK (shame it's not mine). When did you order? First day?

My 12 core (UK) has just shipped, no more details as yet. I ordered about 30 mins after they became available.

Fingers crossed its here by Friday.

Is that Apple's estimate or FedEx? If Apple check the actual FedEx tracking page for the real delivery date. Your wish might come true. I suspect you'll have your machine by Fri or sooner. Apple's estimates are always "worst case".

ordered my 3.33 last wednesday, just got the shipping confirmation, :) should be here before monday. I'm in the UK

I'm happy, just landed a big edit for next week,

I just got my shipment email, and even though the Apple delivery date says the 23rd, my fedex tracking shows expected delivery on the 20th, and I live about as far away as possible in the US - up in NH.

Any Dutch members seeing a change in their status? Still looking at Not Yet Shipped here.

I ordered a 6-core (/w US keyboard ;)) within a few minutes after the store went up on the 9th. It took them until the 12th to send me the order confirmation, with estimated shipping on the 26th, delivery September 6th.

Since then, the only change I've seen is that my order got expanded with a second, mysteriously cancelled Mac Pro, seemingly identical to the one I ordered.

Ordered a 3.33 6-core, 6GB, 1TB, 5870 around mid-day on the 9th, delivery to East Coast on the 23rd/24th (Apple/FedEx).

Looks like West Coasters get theirs on Friday, East Coasters need an extra day and so Monday for me. :(

Upgrading from a MacPro1,1 & 1900XT video card. Can't wait. :)

I'm in the same boat w/my 3.33 6-core. The shipping time (supposedly 2-3 days) suddenly went to 7 days... now I'm regretting not getting the expedited shipping.

I'm wondering if they're sticking these on a boat instead of a plane. Seems like it.

Oh- and the 8/24 date is Fedex's estimate... The Apple order page actually says 23rd. (I've never seen Apple's estimate be earlier than Fedex before... weird.)
