I wish it would say what it is for the 6-core... Considering its so popular it might be 24 as well.

Well I thought this day would never come. My order has just changed to "Prepared for Shipment". It is fair to say that personally I have been prepared for ages!
(12-core ordered on the 14th August - after cancelling my 9th August order)
It will be shipping very very slowly as it will need to have a romantic couple of days in Arnhem with my new printer, before they wend there way across to London (sometime in mid September).

But then I ordered mine two weeks ago and still not a sign of it shipping, that's just rubbish!!!

My order from 8/16 which I changed (from 16GB RAM) on the 19th shipped on Sunday 8/22. I see it just made it to Alaska and seems to be on track for 8/26 delivery. Can't wait!
Two 2.66 6-core with stock 6GB RAM, stock 1TB HD and some preinstalled apps.
I ordered mine on 17/8 and still hasn't shipped. I guess it depends on the country...

duo quad core with 8g ram, I have dual 20" apple screens, tried to migrate via ethernet and it did not work and I could not find a FW800 cable(none on Bestbuy) so I started migrating through Airport, its taking a long time but I think it will be finished by tomorrow (20 hrs and counting) cant wait to try it out.

Called B&H Photovideo and they still are not expecting stock till mid next week. I've had my order in with them for over a week.
Seemed like the best bet for me since I do a lot of business with them and I wanted someone in the US who would take an overseas credit card and let me ship to an address in the US where I could then have it forwarded to me overseas.
Considering other options though...

I'm in the same boat, and starting to consider other options as well. I've ordered the 6-core, which seems a bit harder to come by from other retailers.
It's also a little unfortunate that they charge you up-front for something as expensive as the Mac Pro knowing they wouldn't be getting it right away.

i was wondering if Apple released iLife 11 at the upcoming event, do you think we will get iLife for free assuming its being release in Sept, that will be awesome if it happens but who knows we probably won't see iLife 11 until next year, i'm now at 13 days without a computer sense i sold my 2008 Mac Pro couple of weeks ago, i hope i will get my 12-Core by this week but highly unlikely because just check my status and it still says 'has not shipped ' scheduled to be delivered on Aug 26-Sept 1st

Their up-to-date program should get it to you for free. Don't know what timeframe it is though . . .
My 12 core is suposed to get here tomorrow... Got my desk all prepped and ready to go... Its sad to have this in fron of me with no mini displayport device to use yet.

My MacPro is finally out for delivery. Hope to receive it today (nobody is home until 14.00, although I've asked my neighbor to accept the package, but I'm not sure UPS is allowed to do that).

My Apple solution experts rang today to say that my near standard build machine may be in the country sometime next week. Just as the news was sinking in; Apple sent a nice email announcing the availability of the Mac Pro here in the UK and when I look on the site - they are now promising 3-5 days deliverytwo days quicker than just yesterday when it read 5-7 days.
Meanwhile my very early order is still somewhere else.
Tis hard to understand why Apple even bother having multiple routes to market including specialist market experts (video in this case) if they then fail to service them and yet seem to have no difficulty supplying their own retail outlets.
I hope the Mac Pro behaves like a pro, when I eventually get to see it; the sales / distribution / channel management most certainly does not.

Boo hoo. Fedex is too fast! And unfortunately I'll miss it and go for 2nd try tomorrow since I'm at the office today.
Pretty impressive delivery schedule, though I know it's not like this for everyone.

You can always call Fedex and have them hold for pickup (which you could do later today or first thing in morning tomorrow.
5 hours from credit card charge to saying prepared for shipment
I order my 3.33 6-core with the 5870 card, 3 gbs of RAm and 1 tb harddrive yeasterday afternoon - got an email this am that my credit card would not accept the charge (even though I had called them ahead of time to set this up) and so the charge went through at about 11:30 today - now at 4:30 (only 5 hours ilater t has been updated to prepared for shipment) - I can hardly wait. Darlenea

Quad 3.2GHz, ATI 5870, wireless keyboard, basic RAM and HDD; Ordered 8/18. Shipping notification 8/23. On schedule for delivery tomorrow 8/26 from Texas. Can't wait, taking Friday off. Hopefully I'll notice a difference using PS CS5 and Aperture 3 compared to my mini 2.66GHz.

What Time Zone Would Apple Like me to be in??
Ok, so I ordered on the 11th and since I wished I changed my spec, having heard in the last couple days orders were arriving early I looked expectantly!! And nothing, I heard news of others having amended their order and still received their goods in timely fashion, ie before or on Monday, so in respect within two weeks of the earliest order date of the latest, the greatest Mac Pro, but i stod my ground, could I change my spec by a single iota, nah, that would delay by another couple weeks, but they are pronouncing a 5 to 7 day delivery date now, no, it'll take longer they say, so no it's after midnight, UK time, after the two week anniversary of my order of "the Great one" and absolute nano!! "Still Not Shipped", well it could come out from the states they say, well halihulalah to that!! Well, if it was anything like a license dongle I purchased late local time on Friday and arrived in my hands Monday morning all the better, but alas I don't think that'll be the case!!!
It's not hard, I ordered it over two weeks now, it wasn't a complex rig, but if your going to delay, why can't i modify it while it sits there, specially if your going over time, nice for those folks to get it early but hell, **** if you have to be sitting about waiting to hear any word over the thing.
