Wow. I am on 9 days and waiting as it is still marked as not yet shiipped! I really hope nothing weird is going on that is delaying my order without me knowing. I even have the exact same configuration as you as well.
When I lost patience, I called Apple and asked about the status. Each time I called it seemed to have helped. The last time I called was right after I received my "prepared for shipment" notification . . . 2 hours later I received my tracking.

This morning my order was prepared for shipment and by 2pm it was shipped and I will get it on Monday the 30th, I ordered my 12-Core on the 18th of Aug and it has been 14 days without a computer and I just have to wait five more days
Has anyone else ordered from Best Buy? I ordered mine on the 20th and it showed estimated arrival as 26th and now it's showing between 30th and sept 3rd. Called BB and they said it's still waiting to be shipped.

You maybe should check again - as I said ordered on Tues the 25th about 6 to 7 pm, credit card issue with address, paid for by 11:30 am, and shipping notice by 11:30 pm. It is coming from China and will be here next Tuesday. I call that fast service.

You are very lucky! I ordered the exact same config as you on 15 aug and just got email from apple today that changed my est deliv date from 24-30 aug to now 1-9 sep!
Theory why my computer shipped so quickly??
I have been trying to decide what the difference in shipping times might be for people who have ordered the same cong as I did - I ordered mine through the small business section through my NAPP (National Association of Photoshop Professionals) membership. I saved about 400 dollars - the membership is around 90 dollars - and it looks like the small business computers get shipped faster - I also took the free shipping so it should have been slower. Maybe this is the difference?

Received an email this morning informing me their original shipping estimate of aug 24-30 was delayed for my 6 core and has been delayed to sept 1-8. My custom order is only a 6 core with the upgraded gpu. I am not sure what I did to get on apple's bad side, but seeing people with the exact same configuration ship in a day or two while mine will end up taking nearly 3 weeks is pretty lousy. One would think it should be first come first serve. I live in chicago no less, so it isn't due to being in an outlier location either. Oh well.
I ordered exact same config and got exact same email this am. I live in Omaha...maybe they just don't like folks in the mid-west! Lol.

Not that it matters, but are the machines assembled in China or USA?
Either way scheduled for delivery on the 31st.

Like most things in the world they're made in China or Asia these days. Wages are too low for western countries to compete

Finally, my beastie has arrived. Ordered August 17, arrived today. I spent much of the day anticipating it's arrival (FEDEx had to pick today to make a late delivery making my free afternoon excruciating ). I spent the rest of the day setting it up. It's an 8 Core with a 5870. Some thoughts:

I spent the rest of the day setting it up. It's an 8 Core with a 5870. Some thoughts: - Even with the 5870, It's quieter than my 5 year old PowerMac G5
- It's a lot faster than my the G5 and 2006 MacBook Pro
- Moving my home folder to the 1TB hard disc was easy but I ran into some permissions snafus.
- The super expensive OWC SSD seems worth it. Boot times are very fast!
- Fresh-Installing software takes a long, long time.
- Mine shipped from Irvine TX. Like the PowerMac G5, the MacPro says it was assembled in the US

It will be plugged in right after work today!! Ordered exactly a week ago, free shipping! Dang I feel lucky! Of course living in AK which is a hub from China helps...
