Bought mine last Wednesday from the local AT&T store (which, btw, was the most aggravating hour I have ever spent shopping) and my 4 is week 41! Came with iOS 4.1 out of the box. I love 'er dearly.

I just got a replacement from Apple today and mine is 5K0359 so I guess that's week 35?

got my replacement over the weekend. and its 5K0403. It was from a sealed black box. I'm trying my hardest to figure out is it a refurb or just new without accessories? And does my serial ID mean its week 40? It came with 4.0.2 I believe. Can anyone tell?

It's a refurb and, yes, it's week 40.
They change the housing at the factory, so that refurbs look brand new.

can i please have some confirmations of 4.0.2 on week 39 iphones? i read it a page or two back.

i used a family members upgrade and purchased a 32gb iphone on oct 18th and it was week 39

i have tmobile & i havent unsealed the phone yet because im waiting for the 4.1/4.1 unlock to come out in november....but if some week 39's are coming with 4.0.2 i might just use it right now

can i please have some feedback from all week 39 iphone users- lol

thanks !

I posted a while back about my replacement 5K34. It was working great for the first week or so, but have had a couple instances of cheek dials since. Sensor is definitely not as sporadic as my original week 30 phone, but real world issues remain. Going to the apple store tomorrow to hopefully get a replacement.

got a 16gb thats week 42 and a 32gb thats week 40.

both came w/ 4.1 and workin fine since day 1

Sent my iPhone back and got a refurb yesterday which seems to be week 42.

My screen doesn't look as sharp as my old i4, I've also noticed the signal goes down a lot more than my old i4 when holding it :'(

Let us know what they say

That's bad bad - starting to consider waiting for the 14s, or probably getting a droid before then... :(

Mine's a week 42. It shipped from Apple on Oct. 18 which is the first day of week 42. It said "prepared for shipment" on Friday the 15th which is week 41.

So far everything is working swimmingly on my phone. MMS seems to have some issues but I believe it's related to my carrier so I have to call them about it. I have some weird signal issues in my house where the signal bars seem to jump around a lot, from 5 to 1, 1 to 5, etc. but it doesn't appear to be related to covering the black line on the left side (or the right side or the top) or where I hold it at all. I can't compare to my old phone since prior to this I was on CDMA and with the iPhone I'm on a new HSPA network. At work, I'm at 5 bars sitting at my desk and it doesn't matter how or where I hold it, it stays at 5 bars.

Story:

Apple replaced my 5K34 with a 5K40 today. It came with 4.0.2. They said this was a "one time thing" even though this was my second replacement. Genius said he understood my frustration. He ran iOS diagnostics and said the only thing he saw were dropped calls even though I haven't really experienced many. Also said I was running low on app memory and to turn the phone off and on to clear it. In the end, he replaced the phone without me asking.

Performance:

So far, so good. Had a 10 min conversation with the gf with no issues.

Update 10/29: Noticed last night on another call that I could actually see the sensor through the glass. Assuming this is the "glowing" sensor news that came along with 4.1. However, I wouldn't actually describe it as glowing or bright red like those news articles made it out to be. It was very subtle and went away when I got off the call.

40, which looks to mean October 3rd through the 9th.

Purchased last Wednesday the 27th.

Neat, my iPhone is less than a month old.

Wirelessly posted (iPhone 3GS: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/532.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0.5 Mobile/8B117 Safari/6531.22.7)

I got mine from the local O2 shop this week and it's a week 43: can't get much newer than that I guess! No issues at all with it so far.

Got a cracked front screen this evening. Got a free replacement at the Apple Store within a couple of hours...

Week: 34

I noticed that this one only has one "gap" on each side of the side metal strip. If I remember correctly, my original one had two. Is it something Apple has changed to address the antenna issue?

[EDIT] It must be my bad memory. Looks like the iPhone 4 has always had one such gap.
