Whoa!, im really shocked that the UK is the largest mac user base thus far as i rarely see macs here. In fact i see more macs in the states thatn i do here. In the UK its DELL. In fact asides from the Apple store i've only seen three macs in the wild a 20" iMac, eMac and a PowerBook
Certainly not where I live. I see iBooks, PowerBooks and MacBooks all the time, and I know many people with iMacs or PowerMacs away from this site.

Mind you I do live in London, which could sway the results somewhat. I'd guess Mac share could be as high as 15% in Zone 1.

Argentina here, Mendoza to be exact, with a Powermac g5 and a non-working 12 in. powerbook :D.

The (new) land of IT...

Chennai, India.

I had been in the Mac camp for about 4 years now, though ironically I got the my first Apple product (a PowerBook) last year from London. India is such a PC-dominated country - to a large extend due to the price-conscious market, I guess - though I see a few Macs popping up of late.

As a previous poster pointed out, the lack of Apple support in India is a worrying factor. I get shivers when my PowerBook hard drive makes the faintest of noises! :p

<== See location, but there seem to be quite a few UK mac users, maybe due to the increasing number of UK Apple Store's, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Oxford (well I'm bias as I live there when not at Uni) could certainly do with them...

UK is quite popular! I didnt really expect that...being no amazing proffesor at computers, macs or pc, i always imagined that .com was always US based...well i knew that anyone can access it, but i always imagined macrumors.com being very USA. anyways, more Apple stores in Europe please Mr. Jobs. i dont think he realises the potential we have: No. 1 iTunes in every European county-he said it himself. sure its iTunes, but iTunes generally=iPod and some Macs...Oxford would be a real good place-tons and tons of students, and er...me. Wooo UK and Europe (you USAians have got enough!!!).

Stop the bus! Theres an Apple store in Oxford??? Well, I knew i was giving the right advice! (See previous comment)...I take what i said back about there not being one in Oxford....but there should still be more in the UK!!!

Nice idea but the question was How Many non-USA Mac Users? so why leave in the poll a USA option (no hard feelings :p ) Would have been more interesting to elaborate more on the non USA regions rather than having loads of votes under Others

- Dal

Ha, yeah I wasn't going to make it a poll until after I set the title. I wanted to change it but couldnt.

For those that got left out and were shoved in "other" I'm sorry about that. The poll wasn't meant to exclude your country but instead we are looking at these countries in specific. It doesnt mean your country was left out because it wasn't good enough. :)

iPods are readily available everywhere. The new iPods and Nanos were on shelves 1-2 days after they were announced. Pretty fast.

Wow

I ordered a black 80 gig on announcement day, and it's still apparently a week away. I actually changed my order to a white one, because they were set to arrive earlier - and finally received it on Tuesday.

not really apple stores, but Edinburgh and Glasgow have Scotsys and the like, who are Apple Resellers.

I'm still waiting for the kick ass Apple Store on Princes Street, Edinburgh :D
