And another one from Holland.... no... the Netherlands... no... land of the Dutch... whatever! :D

Typing this around 20 miles southeast of the Amsterdam Red Light District  :p

I'm based in Mumbai, India. Got an ibook G4 and a 17" iMac Intel Core Duo. I buy macs inspite of the fact that Apple pricing and service suck in India.

For those that got left out and were shoved in "other" I'm sorry about that. The poll wasn't meant to exclude your country but instead we are looking at these countries in specific. It doesnt mean your country was left out because it wasn't good enough. :)
It's a miracle the UN functions as well as it does really.

Oth-er-land! Oth-er-land!

I'm from Niagara Falls Canada and I barely see anyone with a Macintosh computer, lots of iPods though hehe. Closest Apple Store is in Toronto (aside from the one in Buffalo NY) I think an Apple store would do well here

Certainly not where I live. I see iBooks, PowerBooks and MacBooks all the time, and I know many people with iMacs or PowerMacs away from this site.

Mind you I do live in London, which could sway the results somewhat. I'd guess Mac share could be as high as 15% in Zone 1.

Hmm interesting.

Stop the bus! Theres an Apple store in Oxford??? Well, I knew i was giving the right advice! (See previous comment)...I take what i said back about there not being one in Oxford....but there should still be more in the UK!!!

Davey.
No No No, there ISN'T one in any of the places,

Edinburgh, Glasgow and Oxford (well I'm bias as I live there when not at Uni) could certainly do with them...

there should be though. For Oxford there is a small Apple shop in Eynsham called Oxford Macintosh Solutions, it is OK, though I have only bought stuff from the Apple online store not them.

So, South America isn't good enough for you...?

;)

It just made me laugh (and feel identified), so I wanted to play along  :p . I voted the right option, though

It was taught as Holland when I was at school :)

I found a Dutch channel while messing around with satellite TV the other day, there was some sort of comedy on :D

I'm glad to say I'm seeing more and more Macs in the UK. Certainly in Birmingham there's usually somebody using one in Starbucks!

The Apple Store attracts a lot of people too. People seem to go in to look at iPods and then start pawing the Macbooks. :)

Woohoo! Go Aussie go! It's me from Queensland Australia. I'm located outside of Brisbane in the suburb of Wellington Point!

France at the current time. We see around quite a lot of iPods, and some people with a Mac. When you compare, Apple is definitely more present in the USA. France doesn't have a single Apple Store yet. And a Mac is sometimes seen as a luxury product.

I'm a Brit, but I work in Saudi for about 9 months of the year. I have 1 colleague (American) on my camous with a MAC (PBG4) and Know of a Canadian on another campus who also has a Mac (PBG4 also). Plus I know one student here who has a MacMini. Apparenlty ARAMCO, the state oil company is awash with Macs, so my students tell me.

I know one shop which sells Macs, Office One in Al-Khobar, but this only has a couple of G4 towers, an old-plastic framed-cinema display and that's about it.

When not in Saudi I am in Brazil where I know one person with a G4 Tower, and only this year found a Mac reseller, Fnac in Paulista SP. However, I did notice this year that Mac Apple was getting a lot of exposure in the print media in Brazil. The big problem there is that Macs are way out of the price range of most Brazillians. I believe, though I may well be wrong, that there is an Apple strore in a kind of super boutique called Deslu in Sao Paulo. This is a sotre which sells Louis Vuitton and has a helipad on the roof, so you can see where Apple is pitched.

Other than this I am all by myself. However, my parents were so impressed with my 17" MBP thet they are about to buy an iMac.

I just wanted to see where the majority of Apple / Mac users are from. Please feel free to post your exact location in the thread. :)

Out of interest, are you trying to find out whether or not your site still has a market after your country's latest anti online gambling legislation?

UK. As mentioned earlier, there are a fair few people here who have macs, but they're far between people.

People I know who have macs are mainly music professionals, but no one else really seems to have one. Still get the "whos Apple?" remarks. *sigh* Poor old Lincoln.....

You're forgetting the entire UK Graphic Design community - Generally speaking we use macs exclusively and have done since Pagemaker came out.

Does anyone know if all the Design colleges use them still? Or is their an influx of PCs now?

That's not quite true... Here in Lincoln, loads of students have Macs, because we use them for a couple of units at the University, fall in love and buy our own :)

The uni students Ive spoken to all seem to talk down on Apple. I must be talking to wrong people  I remember a very drunken conversation in Lloyds talking about Macs

I never said I had forgotten the Graphic design. I said the people who I knew who used Macs were Music Pros. ;) At Lincoln College, ALL the computers there are Dells. Slightly irritating.

When I did Graphic Design for GCSE, we used PC Machines, again, was quite irritating.
