I can't wait for this to come to Canada! Just about every store I shop at (apart from Walmart) has NFC on their payment terminals and I already use it all the time with my NFC enabled cards. It will be much more convenient and secure once I can use my phone instead.

Where have you use Apple Pay?

Tried :apple: Pay at Circle-K this morning. Card was declined twice. Pull card out and put through CC reader and same card worked no problem. Circle-K must not be accepting Apple Pay yet.

This must be due to restrictions put in on the retailers end, same story at AT&T stores right now. Apple pay does not work even though the nfc terminals work for mostly everything else.

Worked for me at:

Whole Foods
McDonalds
CVS
Petco

The only terminal I saw that had Apple Pay logo was at Whole Foods. I went to McDonalds drive thru yesterday and did not look if they had the logo. The other two just simply had the wireless icon on the terminal.

It worked like a charm! I did have to sign for large purchase at Whole Foods on the machine. Smaller ones I had to do nothing (except of course the fingerprint scan).

No luck at local Starbucks. They have no idea what I'm talking about when I say Apple Pay or NFC lol.

Starbucks doesn't have pin-pad payment terminals except at licensed stores (Target, Kroger, etc.), therefore no NFC from them. They have their own barcode-based payment and rewards programme.

I used Apple Pay to buy some toothpaste at Walgreens. Worked like a charm. Now if only more stores would add NFC enabled POS systems...

I've yet to use it. But I'm confused about something. I tried adding a debit card yesterday and it wouldn't take.

This is the same debit card on file with iTunes; so is it already there or no?

It has to be a debit card from one of the banks supporting Apple Pay. So you would have to check with your bank.

You need to contact the bank to verify APay.

I do IT for a local supermarket chain, we have the newer CC terminals in 5 locations and are now able to successfully accept AP at those stores.

Retailers don't need to do anything on their end, as long as they have the latest POS system and compliant CC terminals many will be able to accept AP immediately, no changes or updates needed...it is up to the banks/card issuers to make sure their cards work with AP.

I used Apple Pay today at a BP gas station. Went quick except for it asking me if the amount being charged was ok. Other than that, it was super quick. Tried at 7 11 but it was a no go.

This has me quite confused and a bit worried. Lots of people have reported this working on non-apple pay nfc terminals. How is this possible?

I live at home depot, which has nfc terminals but aren't apple pay ones. Anyone know if it will work there?

Apple pay will work on any terminal that has the sideways Wifi symbol.... hence CVS and vending machines.

Download the Mastercard Nearby app. Go to Contactless. It will show you all the places where you can use Apple Pay aka with places with enabled NFC terminals...

I was just gonna post about the MC nearby app.... it'll show you all NFC locations in an area for :apple: pay usage ..

Whole Food grocery store in Westwood California. I was the first with the cashier. Worked like a charm even though the payment terminal doesn't have the NFC reader logo I saw on the Apple demonstration.

Used it at the vending machine at work. So easy

Worked at Duane Reade, but when I tried to use it at Whole Foods, it kept saying "move closer". I gave it a good few minutes until the cashier gave me a weird face, so I pulled out my card and just swiped at left. Hopefully it was just the card reader being weird.

At McDonalds drive thru they have to haul this huge corded terminal out the window to let you scan your phone. It's sort of funny. I've been to two different locations for morning coffee and the same thing happened.

Walgreens for me. Had to grab some items, but it didn't even click that they accepted Apple Pay until I reached the checkout. Saw the NFC terminal and just for grins, held my iPhone to it. Screen lit up, I pressed Touch ID and 2 seconds later the receipt was printing. Wow.

Seeing it in the videos is one thing, but when you actually use it - well, I'm impressed.

Me, too. Walgreen's. Cashier said she hadn't seen anyone else do this so far. She's been on duty for about 6 hours. I thought they got an "hour's worth of training before launch but I guess not. The actual transaction was super fast. Love it.

CVS a few times,Panera also...

Anyone use it to get gas yet?

I would really like that as long as you could do it outside at the pump. i don't like going inside and queueing up behind the people picking their Lotto numbers.
