I would really like that as long as you could do it outside at the pump. i don't like going inside and queueing up behind the people picking their Lotto numbers.

And cigarettes, beer, chips. Then asking all kinds of dumb questions. The counter person stands there unaware of anything.

On rare event if I get a message to go in I just drive to another location for fuel.

Worked fine at a Hess gas station. Station attendant didn't even bat an eye. Thought the POS terminal still insisted on asking if I wanted to do credit or debit, so there was an extra step required.

Used it at the vending machine at work. So easy

I am so jealous. We're in a building without any vending machines. They used to give us free drinks because of that but no longer. We have to B.Y.O. First job I've ever had without vending machines or cafeteria/restaurant nearby. No one goes out to lunch either. It's the culture. Dang, I want to go home for lunch (2.5 miles away). Wow, I really got off on a rant...

Panera Apple Pay

I just got an email from Panera advising about Apple Pay.

Tried :apple: Pay at Circle-K this morning. Card was declined twice. Pull card out and put through CC reader and same card worked no problem. Circle-K must not be accepting Apple Pay yet.

Used it at a Circle K tonight with no issues at all. Very easy!

For what it's worth, I used it in a random vending machine in the tunnel under Lexington-Park Avenues heading to Grand Central. Worked like a charm. I left a happy camper...people probably thought I was crazy being as happy as I was once I got my Coke Zero.

I've used it at Chevron and McDonald's. At Chevron I still had to press the credit button on the terminal but McDonald's it requires nothing

Funny that you said that! Chevron still required me to enter my pin # on the terminal... then it double charged me. My bank automatically credited back the double charge.

Subway and McDonalds required nothing but the fingerprint on the phone.

Are you those of you that used it at Chevron or other gas stations ever finding NFC at the pumps? I used it at Chevron today, but I had to go inside. They didn't have the option at the pump.

I've used it a couple of times in NYC taxis (both yellow city cabs and the green outer borough cabs). :D

Went to a Panera Bread in Indy. The cashier had no idea what Apple Pay was. I tried to explain, but long story short, I swiped my debit card.

Tried a work vending machine. Passbook popped up with my CC displayed and it said "pay with touchID". It looks like its recognizing my finger then transaction stops and it says "place near reader". Tried multiple times. Anyone have this issue?

I live in California and I haven't seen one NFC card reader at the pumps. Just only inside.

I don't get why Chevron have to sign the receipt. McDonalds you don't. You just scan and your go to go

That is pretty silly. The whole point originally of signing the receipt was to verify the signature to what was on the back of the card (Granted I don't think I've ever seen someone do that). How times have changed....

Now that I've thought about it, I bet we don't see NFC at the pumps anytime soon.
Gas pumps are the #1 place that criminals 'test' stolen cards. I'm sure that, even though NFC is more secure than swiping a card, the fear of fraud at the pump is the reason that NFC will not be there anytime soon.

BTW, I did not have to sign anything at Chevron when I did my transaction, however, it was only for $20.

I have used it at McDonalds and Vending machines.

My only problem I ran into was at the vending machine. I couldn't use my Wells Fargo account to pay for it but I could with my capital one account. A little confused why that is.

I stopped at several chevron gas stations in south Florida. None had ur at the pump but was able to pay inside at the terminal.

I've used it on the vending machines at my work. Now that I'm keeping my eyes open for NFC I'm not seeing it much. I went to Publix, Sonoco, and Arby's with no luck.

I've never seen an nfc pos machine at publix.

I tried to use it at a Chevron, but the guy said the contactless part on top of the terminal broke a while back so they don't have it. I wonder if they pulled it because of the double charges or to get ready for new ones for Apple Pay or something.

Arby's is super outdated with their tech, I wouldn't expect it anytime soon. They're still using small card machines beside the register, where you have to hand the card to the cashier, and they swipe it and wait for the transaction to go through, then it prints out a tiny seperate receipt in addition to the Arby's register receipt. Very outdated.

For those of you who use Apple Pay for gas, how does it work, exactly? Does the total show up after you finish pumping like if you swiped, or do you have to charge a set amount? Do you have to go back inside when you are finished?
