I had a totally different opinion of them when they were in this forum. I thought the rep was totally unprofessional when he jumped on another thread where I was discussing my complete satisfaction with my Benks protector. I thought initially it was odd that they were allowed to pitch their product when the forum rules don't allow it. Then they jumped on my thread and kept pointing out how much better their product was than the Benks. At that point they went to unprofessional.

I know that the Benks group has kind of fallen off the face of the earth now with their website useless. But I'm still sporting my Benks full screen protector in white with no issues - no chipping, no lifting and no dust collection at the edges (at least that I can see).

I still truly hope that Cinder does come through for you with a truly great protector. It stinks to be in a waiting game when you don't feel confident with the company.

I had a similar experience with Spigen at the iPhone 6 plus release when they couldn't keep up with their orders. I was so frustrated trying to get them to respond to cancelled orders that were out over a month. I ended up having to file a complaint with PayPal to get my money back.

Sorry, I was being facetious.

There has been many a crowdfunding event that goes belly up.

I'm not saying this will specifically happen with Cinder, but delays and complete disappearances are unfortunately normal occurrences for crowdfunding projects.

You're investing in an idea or a product. There is no guarantee it will happen.

In Cinder's case, at least there are some updates and samples that have been reviewed. In a perfect crowdfunding world, everyone would have their Cinder now. The crowdfunding world is far from perfect.

So if Cinder is failed and will they refund to us? I read the article, some failed projects didn't refund to backers....I dun think kickstarter and indiegogo are scam, but there are some problems of their policy....

And it's Wednesday without any news so far. Or did anybody receive a shipping notification?

And we have a new email update:

Dear backers,

A small update from here.
We finally recieved a confirmation that the last parts will arrive wednesday evening this week, so assembling will begin right away and shipping will begin thursday this.

Tracking numbers will be added to accounts as CINDERs are shipped, and we will send an email to each one of you when tracking number has been added to your order (the link we have sent out).

Images of CINDERs and the assembling/shipping will be posted in the gallery when available.

Have a great day!

Regards

I hope the email which they send then will either already include the shipping nr or the link.
I got so many emails from them with different links while some said "please ignore this and that ...". I don't want to search through everything again just to know my shipping status.

Furthermore, I personally would always include an "emergency time frame" and not chose the shortest possible. If they think they can ship on thursday, why not say "friday" or monday next week. If they then ship earlier, fine, if not, it should be on time even if other obstacles have to be overcome.

EDIT: If they really ship this week and the protectors arrive perfect and in the right color, I guess all this "trouble" will be forgotten.

That's what I'm hoping for too. It's been a horrible process and they've been really unprofessional. This damn screen protector better be as good as they and the reviewers are saying.

I somehow don't think so. But hope dies last.
They always use the same trick........give some promises make people have hope....then delay without anything update.....people become very angry...after few days....they said they have a small delay and will complete the task this week.....after that....they use that trick again..........

What I don't understand is that they leave us in the dark.
Which time zone are they located? Just to get an idea.

Why do they not say at least until when it will be delayed? But actually by now they would have to state as well why.

Well, no update so far and no answer to a comment on the indiegogo page either.

But some news from here: If you were counting on the Cinder working with your CandyShell Grip and have an iPhone 6+ you might have a problem. Kristin (a macrumors member) tested it and pointed it out here. Of course it could be that it just did not work for that specific user. If you have said combination you then might want to ask the Kristin what exactly did not fit.

I wonder whether the Cinder was tested to fit with the CandyShell Grip on the 6 and not the 6 Plus? It most definitely did not want to work with the 6 Plus.

I guess you all know by now, but here an excerpt from the newest update:

[...] As we highlighted recently, we are still awaiting a certain part to complete the CINDER packaging.
These are still on their way and assembling and shipping will kick off next week – although we do not wish to repeat the error and promise a certain date. [...]

At least they are sorry. But I would have wished for an earlier update. Further, I am wondering what can take so long with the packaging. Packaging is not rocket science and if their supplier messed up, why does the shipping of those "missing parts" take so long?

I think they should be a little more clear about it. On July 31st they stated that they had a delay in a part of the packaging. Now 9 days later there is still a delay? In 9 days you can ship almost anything around the world.

Does anybody know for sure where they are shipping from?
charis1113 assumed from the US, but who knows for sure?

im sorry but cinder really seems like a joke

at least several people there shouldnt be on the payroll...

They have answered it in the comments section on the indiegogo page. They are shipping from China.
I hope they don't use China Post, cause this will take forever.

They will probably say that they were all ready to go from the shipyard in Tianjin where that huge explosion was.

Have you guys purchased crowndfunded stuff before? There are always delays and they never come when they are supposed to. I just wait and when they show up, they show up.

The company has many variables against them. Production, packaging, and other people that they are depending upon to be on time.

Be patient and it will arrive when it does

This is not like making a purchase on Amazon. I am always amazed how pissed off people get at Kickstarted and Indiegogo.

It's this generation of almost adults. They want instant gratification...
