Anyone have any experience with the Apple stores in Orlando? I have a gift card so would prefer to buy from the actual Apple store. I just moved here so I haven't even been in one yet. I work all day Friday and have no way of going until about 7 pm. Do I have any chance at all?

This thread might give you an indication of what my experience was like at the one launch I had to queue up for down here. It was for the 4 and some people were able to get some late in the day, I believe, but I don't know if they had reservations or not. If you're not able to get to a store until late in the day, you might be better off ordering at 12:01 am and just having it shipped.

Hitting up my local T-mo retail spot. Not really sure if I will go there early at all, seems like the sort of location most won't be checking. Not even opening early, normal 10am. Its so close to me I'll pop by when I get up and see if anyone got the idea to line up and join in if they have.

I'll be waiting in line...just not sure which Apple store yet. I'm in Maryland, outside of DC. One store is in a mall (Montgomery Mall) and the other is on a street (Bethesda Row). Anyone have any experience with either? I think it'll be fun. Yeah, I'm weird. But fortunately I couldn't care less what others think, so I'm good. :p

I'll be at one of the stores too. The one in Montgomery Mall would be ideal since it's in a mall and it looks like it open at 7am for the morning walkers.

Sprint is taking preorders for the 5S. I just came back from the sprint store. You get a $50 gift card which you use towards the purchase on friday. Just tell them color and size and they will hold it for you

I plan to get in line at my local Verizon store at 4am- They open at 8am...On the hunt for a Gold iPhone 5s 64gb

I recommend Bethesda Row. I camped out there for the iPhone 4S, I'm not sure when people started lining up, but I got in line around 3 or 4pm the previous day and was about 6th or 8th in line.

Is there any places right now taking Pre orders for the 5S???

I don't believe so. Sprint is claiming to take "preorders," which is really them selling you a $50 gift card which can then be used toward the 5S once it becomes available. It's normally still first-come, first-served even with the gift card, though, or at least that's how it has been at Best Buy in the past with a similar scenario. So you could end up with the gift card but still no phone if they're all gone by the time you get to the front of the line.

I'll probably go to ATT 6:30-7am. Have to be at work by 9:30 so if it happens, it happens and I sure hope it does!

If not I'll order one from the store. I've managed to live with this iPhone 4 for this long, I can wait a few more weeks I guess.

I'll probably hit an apple store at 7am. If it's crazy I'll just head to work since I'm in at 8am. I'm ok with being a little late if I can get a phone.

i hope thats not the case because the rep took down the color and size that i wanted :rolleyes:

i will be heading over to the walnut creek, ca, apple store about noon on thursday. first time ever having to do this. anyone heading over there?

I'm on the fence. I might head over by my office early and get in line at the AT&T store. Otherwise I'll just go check Best Buy and AT&T around 10 or 11 for an early lunch. It's fun to get excited about something, and I've never done a store purchase on launch day. I got the original iPhone on day 4 or 5 in store. Every other one I've gotten through launch day pre-orders (3GS, 4 and 5) I remember I was tempted to try to grab one on day 1 but I was unsure and hadn't sold the wife on a $600 phone yet. Within 2 months she bought one for herself. :D

at&t store minutes from my house opening up at 8 a.m plan on getting there around 7 a.m....hoping the lack of a preorder this yr. doesnt create longer lines from the past years...

Have you called the AT&T Store and asked what time they open? I just called my local store and was informed they were opening early at 7:30.

yes mine only opens an hour early on friday so they will be opening the doors at 8 a.m instead of 9, but i have since then changed my game plan as of now i will be getting up there around 6 a.m i HAVE to make sure i get a 5S on friday...i am currently using a 3G since i sold my 5 over the wknd

I get out of the house around 6:00AM to go to apple store around 6:30AM. Hopefully where I live there is no much line (montreal,qc)

I was thinking the same thing. I have an apple store in the mall but the mall doesn't open until 9am. The AT&T store will open at 8. The mall has multiple entrances so I don't want to wait in line to find out there is another line on another entrance. I think the best thing to do is wait in front of an AT&T store. That way you'll be waiting right in front of it. Just make sure to call that specific AT&T store and make sure they will have the 5s on the 20th. Good luck.

dont worry about that. there will be an apple designated line and apple employees or mall security ensuring the line is kept and food/drinks are supplied throughout the night. this was my experience at valley fair on the launch of iphone 4. it's very well organized starting around 9pm the night before. at 6am they got cater to come for continental breakfast and coffee (free). bottles of smartwaters were always available.

Thanks for the info. Just called apple and they told me that the mall will open at 6 and they at 8. I have never waited in line at an apple store before for a launch. What time do you think I should go wait to insure I get 2?. I was thinking 5:30.

I Have to get up for work at 12:30am, and I may be at the mall covering people waiting in line for work. So I'm torn to order it in the am or wait to go to the mall but technically I'm not waiting in line, I'm there to cover toe story for work. Decisions Decisions.
