I'll either be there or go to Lehigh valley. I'm not sure about waiting at a mall, especially if we have to wait outside.

Pretty sure kop opens their doors for these kinds of things.

----------

I'll go for my morning run at 7:00am and end up at the Market Street verizon store in Philadelphia by 7:45am. Figured the walnut st apple store and vzw store will both be mobbed.

you asked the right guy here. i was at las vegas fashion show mall for iphone 1, valley fair for iphone 3gs, 4, and 5 (4s was mail in). let me tell you, on every single release, you could simply walk into Apple store around 11am on the release day after all the lines are cleared, to buy your phone. They never ran out of stock. There were at least 1000 people for the iPhone 4 line (longest) and they didn't run out of stock until the afternoon of release day.

I can safely tell you that, if you don't care which size/color you want, you can most likely get a phone by walking into the store around 11am. Don't go earlier because the line takes about 3 hours to clear. It moves extremely slowly because every customer needs to be activated.

I think you are 90% guarantee to have AN iphone 5s on launch day if you go at 11am. Why not 100%? Well, this year they DO have less inventory than before and they don't have online order, so we might actually run out. (Unlikely though.)

I personally will go at 5~6am, because what I found is that most people come either the night before, or between 6~8am. Very few people come to join the line between 12am and 6am, so if you come during that time you are not really getting ahead of too many people.

Glad I asked you...it seems like you know all about this. Based on what you said, I'll probably be there around 5:15am to make sure I get the colors I want. I would go at 11 but I sold my iphone 5 last week and really need it. Thank you so much for taking the effort to write all this.

You're right, but if you're looking for 64 GB and a specific color then you gotta be there earlier than everybody else to guarantee the model you want, but everything you said is right :)

In line now ! 5 o'clock eastern time to by six iPhone 5s and two 5c! Can't wait till the morning than I be first one in line! Haha

I'll be waiting in line...just not sure which Apple store yet. I'm in Maryland, outside of DC. One store is in a mall (Montgomery Mall) and the other is on a street (Bethesda Row). Anyone have any experience with either? I think it'll be fun. Yeah, I'm weird. But fortunately I couldn't care less what others think, so I'm good. :p

See you at the Montgomery Mall at 5 AM

Yeah people say that every year. I'll report back on Friday you'll see.

So how did you make out? I lined up at 2AM at my local Apple Store trying to get gold, but of course they only had 10 and I was #95 so settled for space grey. Yesterday my daughter was walking through the mall by another Apple store and asked if they had any gold and they did. I raced over and got the last one. So much for standing in line.

It's like a treasure hunt now. They get shipments daily, but never know what's in the boxes.

Alright I'm glad you brought this back up! So here's my story:

I was woken up at 7AM so I figured hey why not just go to Apple now. Got ready to go and got to the mall by about 7:30. There was about 150ish people in line, stood in line until about 8:15 or so and then they come out and say no more iPhones. I didn't see a single person walk away with an iPhone it was very odd. Anyways there is a Best Buy 5 minutes down the road so I figured alright I'll shoot over there. Turns out they don't open until 10. At this point it's already 8:30 or so so I figured I mine as well just stay instead of drive all the way back home. I had the entire day free. I was about 6th in line at Best Buy. The guy next to me in line said he went to the Apple store I was at at 4AM! He got nothing at the Apple store. So after sitting at Best Buy for close to an hour an a half they come out with tickets (like black friday) and say they only have Verizon phones and they had about 10. The line of 20 or so people shrunk down to about 5 people. I left since I have ATT. So now its 10AM and I'm around a whole bunch of stores Walmart, Target, Radio Shack... so I start calling, no one has anything. I tried calling the Apple store and ATT store but both lines were busy (most likely off the hook) So I planned on getting my mother the iPad Mini for her bday so I said you know what I'll go into Apple and get that. As I walk in the mall I walk right by the ATT store and see a small line of about 15 people and stand in it figuring its for the iPhone. An ATT lady comes out says we have the space grey iPhone in 32GB and 64GB. PERFECT I was going for the 32GB space grey. She said they had about 20 left. Stand in line for about 20 mins and I'm on my way with my new 5s. I had my phone in hand at 11:18. Im not sure what happened earlier because ATT and Verizon were also outside with Apple and they all said no more iPhones yet 3 hrs later they are pumping people out of the store left and right with new 5s's
:D:D
