Where would be the best place be to pick one up? The 4 I got on Verizon walked in no line, but im not sure if its because 4 was months old. The 4s I got online was super simple. The 5 was a nightmare because I didnt have an upgrade until a month later so there was no stock anywhere. Now with no preorders. I happen to be off the 20th so is my best bet in store or online?

Good luck with that plan. I hope you aren't planning on a particular color/capacity.

Maybe you'll be ok. People also complain every year about how the Apple stores quickly run out of the most popular models. I think the gold version is going to sell out pretty quickly, but every area is different. Maybe you will just waltz into the store at your leisure and get exactly what you want.

We'll see that's the plan. If apple doesn't have it I can do to AT&T which is also in the mall. I have about 5 stores to check if it really comes down to it. But anyways going for the space grey 32GB

I'll either be there or go to Lehigh valley. I'm not sure about waiting at a mall, especially if we have to wait outside.

Yeah, I've always pre-ordered the new iPhone, but it's but the 5s isn't available for pre-order this year. Is it better to stand at a store or at a mall store?

I was thinking the same thing. I have an apple store in the mall but the mall doesn't open until 9am. The AT&T store will open at 8. The mall has multiple entrances so I don't want to wait in line to find out there is another line on another entrance. I think the best thing to do is wait in front of an AT&T store. That way you'll be waiting right in front of it. Just make sure to call that specific AT&T store and make sure they will have the 5s on the 20th. Good luck.

My local Apple store has a great process.

I pre-ordered two years about and got on release day, pre-ordered off Apple.com last year, but missed release day window and got a week later.

I'll be getting in line around 4am. Historically, the line starts getting insane around 6am or so.

Just make sure it's an AT&T corporate store. The stores that are authorized resellers usually just get a few (and I mean 6 or so) phones and the workers are usually clueless.

Would it be better to go to a standalone AT&T store or go to an Apple Store that is located within a mall? I'd rather go to the Apple Store but I'll do what I have to do.

I would go the Apple store. They always have the most stock.

The Apple Store is in a mall though. I wonder where I'd wait. I guess I'll give them a call.

Mine is in a mall as well. They have everybody line up at one entrance. Call they store, I am sure they have some process for people who will line up.

If the Apple store is inside the mall then the mall security won't let you in till like at least 3-4 am.

anyone in Sacramento Arden or Galleria,i know Arden is ghetto but they might have a shorter line.

Incorrect. Ignore this reply- from my own experience at the KoP Mall last year, they allowed us to camp in the mall starting at 8pm Thursday night. You'll be able to get in unless procedures change.

maybe they did for the 5, but when the 4 came out, they wouldn't even let people park overnight in the lot.

I am planning on heading to best buy and the at&t store by my work when I get off at noon. If they are all out of the one I want I will head to the nearest apple store.

Probably 5 or 6am at the local apple store. It should be fun with all of the apple fanatics! I'm planning on the 64gb black 5s. Hoping that with all of the colors, and with a lot of people likely getting 16/32 that I'll be ok! Do they give tickets before the door opens so you can have a better idea if you're going to get one? I would consider the AT&T store, however they generally have a more limited supply

Anyone have any experience with Walmart? I'm hoping to stop by before work since they open at 6 and try to snag one. Or will they not be able to sell them at 6 and have to wait until 8?
