Amazon deserves to be on the receiving end of feedback that they sent you an open box item that was advertised as new. Every time I experience/hear something like this, it makes me question those Prime $$$ I throw at them every year.

I’m definitely gonna contact them and let them know. My wife and I have been questioning keeping Prime for a while and stuff like this doesn’t help their cause.

My daily driver is the Paragon precise, but I’m also fond of the Synthesis. I’ve got the Ghost and Grip as well, but I wish the Ghost was frosted like the Synthesis and I don’t use the Grip that much because it’s so hard to get out of my pocket.
I'm still trying to use up the rest of my Caudabe points before they go away in July and I'm torn between the Paragon and the Synthesis. Everyone raves about the Paragon but I feel like I don't hear much about the Synthesis. Does the back of the Synthesis have any sort of grip or is it slippery?

Picked up one of the $5 and change Beats Rugged from Amazon in the tan color and I must say, I don’t get the love for it here.

The bottom half is grippy-ish, but not nearly as grippy as has been stated. The charging port opening is tiny and won’t fit most cables. And it’s pretty thick.

If it weren’t $5, I’d return it. Not only for the reasons above, but also because it was listed as new and when it arrived, the box had clearly been opened. Freaking Amazon, man.

Into the unused cases drawer it goes.
Yep the charging port is a deal breaker. I had one returned it for that reason.

Good News only $5. Bad News not worth even $5. Lol

The issue seems to be with cable manufacturers, since they should be aware of the charging port size on Apple cases after all these years. Every one of my cables fits all of the Apple (and Beats) cases I’ve ever had. If they didn’t fit, the cables were returned immediately, not the cases.
Agreed. I use both Apple and Anker cables and both fit just fine when I have the Beats Rugged on my iPhone.

Sorry it took me a while to respond. The Synthesis has decent grip because it’s got some texture on the back. Definitely much more grip than the Paragon.

When I used the Apple Leather cases for earlier iPhones, the Anker cables I had didn't fit. Part of that was that the cutouts were off center too. If the cutout was centered, the Anker cables fit, but tightly.

I started using my Apple cables, and they worked fine. I also like the Beats cables as they are very flexible, braided and have smaller heads like the Apple branded version.

Been switching between these two lately.
The MUJI clear case has that clean, minimalist look, but I keep coming back to the Tongate. I just prefer its design—it gives my iPhone 17 Pro a bit more character and fits my style better.

The newer braided Anker cables I have fit fine. I don’t know if it’s this particular model or if they’ve recently made all of their fittings smaller.

Overly large port cutouts cause the surrounding area to be more fragile, sometimes causing it to deform—or even break—over time. I’ve seen this with a number of cases. Better a smaller cutout and cables with properly sized plugs.

Your Estimated Final Cost
You will have to pay the 20% Import VAT plus a courier handling fee before the package can be delivered to your door: [1]
  • Case Price: £30.80 ($40.00)
  • Import VAT (20%): £6.15 ($8.00)
  • Courier Handling Fee: ~£8.00 to £12.00 (charged by Royal Mail, DHL, or FedEx to process the customs paperwork)
  • Estimated Extra to Pay: ~£14.15 to £18.15
Got my Bullstrap. Without doubt the nicest quality leather I've ever had on a case. Also, I didn't get changed any customs tax, so it was £30.74 which is a great deal. Will definitely be getting one for my 18 Pro Max.

Anker cable won’t fit in port opening.
