OMG U GUYZ! I wanna install the app bcuz I need to know my iPhone is the best of millions! But I'm skeered!

Seriously, installing a provision to check a chip has to be the most perfect way to detect delusional self important noobs ever.

I have the TSMC chip. 64GB 6s+. Performance has been good, battery life stellar (10 hours usage, 45 hours standby on my last charge).

People are insane.

6S+ Silver 64GB, Samsung.

That article doesn't prove the Samsung chips are the better performers, or that the CPU manufacturer/process is even responsible for the performance differences. Both of those things are just assumed.

Right. And the billion dollar question that Anandtech asked wasn't about performance but; "Will there be difference in battery life between TSMC/Samsung?"

I have one 6s with a samsung chip, and one with the TSMC. I havent really used the Samsung phone yet but i did benchmark both. The samsung one consistently scores about 40 points higher on single core and 200 points higher on multi core benchmarks. That being said, the screen is significantly better on the TSMC phone, not sure if the chip has anything to do with it though. Also, i will say that i notice the TSMC phone getting noticeably warmer than my old iphone 6.

For what it's worth... I have two 6s plus 128gb iPhones. One has Samsung and the other tsmc. Both on iOS 9.0.2 and share identical settings. I ran the geekbench battery test on both at the same time, and the Samsung died while the tsmc still had 8% battery remaining.

I gotta admit, I'm surprised, well done TSMC.

It will be interesting to see what the real data ends up showing. The limited data we have doesn't prove anything as of yet, but it appears the Samsung might have a 1% performance edge (this is imperceptible in real world use) while the TSMC may have a rather tangible edge in power efficiency. Of course, the data for battery life is very thin at the moment, and is by no means conclusive in any way.

If that trend holds, it would honestly surprise me very much, as I'd expect them to be extremely close in efficiency. I do know I'd prefer the longer battery life over 1% performance.

Battery Memory System Status Monitor by Cactos App
https://appsto.re/us/pTERD.i

Use this app to identify AP of 6S/6S+. It is free. Install it and go to "System". Model number tells which AP is in your iphone.

NxxmAP - TSMC
NxxAP - SAMSUNG

Idea -

If I had a Samsung chip iPhone I would swap with someone's brand new phone with a $150 fee.

I know some of you super OCD's would cave in.

I have TSMC 64GB 6S, GeekBench is consistently in th 4400s. Battery life averages to about 5 1/2 - 6 1/2 hours of usage (for me)
