That's not true. If Samsung chips reach the performance numbers quoted on their website. Then they dont' have to anything.

Nissan GTR - fast car right - The engine is hand made with delicate care. But If I were to take Nissan GTR Car A vs Nissan GTR Car B and did a Horsepower check and saw 10 HP difference. That is not enough justification to get the faster car -- As long as Nissan has reached minimum specification requirements it given.
You are correct but if it made 20% more horsepower on the dyno? Same day, same conditions, both new stock gtr's? You bet they would have to do something about it

Now if one made 20% above the factory rated power? Then someone just gets lucky

But if there is literally over half the iPhones that perform 20% better battery life then the rest? That to me is an issue

Whether or not this is truly an issue? We don't know for sure yet

Apple would never ship out their phones if they had a 20% difference in battery life. You don't think this is tested?

I have been poking fun at people over this topic and personally thing its overblown. Also I love apple products. However I like to believe I operate in reality unlike a lot of people. Apple is a corporation in the USA. Like all corporations they have sold their soul to the dollar. Kids working their ass off in China, ect. Do you seriously think they would not be capable of cutting some costs with Samsung? Really?

At the risk of hurting their rep? Which means hurting their revenue? Seems pretty risky to me

Congrats to all those who contributed nothing to the discussion. As if color, carrier, or capacity has anything to do with it.

At least some people posted their actual experiences with their given CPU. The rest who merely posted their chip brand are just yammering away taking up space. The thread should have had a poll, otherwise it's meaningless. And it's probably meaningless even with a poll.

How do we even know lirum is accurate or safe?? They require a connection to give you the model i ran it n airplane mode just to test and it gives you nothing

But... But... What if the Rose Gold iPhone is faster than the Silver iPhone?!

I think the idea was to see if there was a trend to which models got which processor. No need to be a jerk.

I always knew that Samsung is only good for crap. I had a Samsung phone in 2004 or 2005.( This was before any iPhone, btw.) I lost it. Just lost it.

Edit: in case you can't do without emoticons: ;)

I agree. I think the Geekbench test is not accurate; it hasn't been updated for the iPhone 6S release anyways, so its very likely that there are some incompatibilities/bugs with the two chips. It must using more CPU cycles, as performance seems to be identical between the two chips. I find it hard to believe that Apple would release two chips with a consistent 20% power consumption difference.
If the test isn't accurate, this isn't how the inaccuracy would present itself. The test would show inaccurate results that should be consistent across the two CPUs, not drastically different results.

I suspect, if the tests are accurate (which we won't know for sure until we get more data, but it's probably more or less true), that Apple isn't happy about the discrepancy, but due to timeline restrictions they weren't able to resolve the power draw issue or supply chain issues before the launch of the phone, so they had to roll with it.

I'll try Geekbench, what settings should I have? dim screen or max screen? airplane mode?

Have the TSMC on my 6S Plus. As a matter of fact, I've always got the superior products, always got the non-yellowish screen on my iPhones while my dad & brother both have yellow hued screens on their iPhone 6(s). I got the non-ghosting Samsung screen on my rMBP 1st Gen. I guess I'm pretty lucky with Apple!
I hate you! I replaced my iPhone 6 five times, iPhone 5s six times and iPad Mini Retina ... i lost count

Since receiving the device on day 1, I have noticed that my battery life to be way less than stellar. Certainly worse than my iPhone 6+. I have the iPhone 6s+ with the Samsung chip. I set up my phone as new and have not done anything to turn off background apps from refreshing. That being said, these are the same apps I have used on my iPhone 6+ so I wouldn't expect battery life to have taken a significant hit. I've only had time to run the geek bench battery test on 6s+ but will repeat it on my 6+ later today to see what I get. Here are the result I have gotten from various benchmarks. The antutu benchmark was after my 3rd attempt. The geekbench benchmark was also after my 3rd attempt.

What about some paragraphs in your text? And some structure in your attachments. Hard to figure out what you want to say.

Sorry just posted the raw data. Both the geekbench and antutu benchmarks on my samsung chip look virtually identical to the TSMC chip. So in terms of processing power, both chips appear the same IMHO. The geekbench battery test is in line with other samsung chips which is significantly lower than the TSMC chip. I have no idea how reliable the geekbench battery test is. That being said, my battery life has been pretty poor with this 6S+. Until I do more testing, processing speeds between the two chips seem on par, with the Samsung chip getting 20%+ lower on the same battery test as the TSMC chip.

Says the man that took the time and quoted 20 different people to complain about nothing :)

Still enjoying my TSMC chip. Don't hate me cuz I'm fast bro.
