Which chip does your 6s(6s+) have?

I'm happy. I got a TSMC A9 chip on my unlocked Rose Gold 128G AT&T iPhone (A1634), which is equivalent to the Sim-Free version. AT&T unlocked it for me even though it's still on a Next Plan!! Yay!!

Now, I have to really hope nothing goes wrong with this bad boy as I'm carrying it around naked!

My husband is exchanging his iPhone 6s+ tomorrow since it has a bad battery life and it happens to be a Samsung A9 chip.

Hahahahahahahaha. Good grief this whole thing is getting more stupidly out of hand by the minute. You'd think these TSMC chips were produced off of holy wafers of some sort.

Even if I grant that some owners of Samsung iPhones (boy does it feel weird to type THAT) legitimately had severe battery problems and had to exchange their iPhones, it's not worth THAT amount of money to avoid a Samsung chip. Especially not in the 6S Plus, many of which seem to be doing well on all these geeky tests and according to personal anecdotes like mine.

So far, knock wood, my Sammy 6S Plus is so flawless that if it meets some misfortune, and I have to take it in, I would ask them to do their best to repair, not to exchange.

Guys I bought my 6s abroad in Canada I want to replace it here in uk will they replace it under 14 day?

Oh and Tsmc A9s have a higher failure yield !!!
How do I know I'm a hardware engineer over 20 years in Silicon Valley !!

You have a fair point. Now's the time to evoke all TSMC and Samsung chip manufacturing engineers to disprove and tell us the truth once and for all! Rise engineers! Rise to the cause! Help settle our worries and worst fears!
 
TSMC has highest yield in the world (even higher than intel) cuz their RD works for 7/24...

Also, they have the best engineers and PhDs from Taiwan with fairly cheap salary and work pretty long time (more than 12 hours a day).

There is a slogan about TSMC: millions of young people, millions of livers. TSMC works 7/24 to save Taiwan lol.

Not that I care that much, but just found out I've got the TSMC chip in my 128GB/SG/6S+

I guess I'm just happy to gloat in the face of the Samsung chip holders that really care about the 12min of battery life they could have had.

Then maybe you can explain why Samsung's 14 nm chips are behaving exactly the opposite as one would expect them too. They should run cooler and be more energy efficient, yet they don't and they aren't.
 
Not that this means much, but my iPhone 6s Plus 128 MB with the TSMC chip gets great battery life at my home where I get 5 bars.

Extrapolating the 3.5 hours of usage would yield me over 14 hours of battery life on a single charge.

On a side note the battery screen's minute usage listing is very inaccurate. I used GeekBench3 for over 7 hours, not the 1 minute listed.

Well , I know and Millions of people know there phone is working exactly as they should . It's only when fanatics go ape **** over a variance and blows things out of proportion . I guess some people are just too ocd , it's a phone !!! Somtimes it's not perfect , you are welcome to switch to android !
If you ask me apple could afford to lose a few crazy people and still carry on !! Oh and if you think you can do better move to Silicon Valley interview at Apple get hired and show us your magic !

You do realize you are calling several journalists crazy and they've reproduced the results when testing the chips.

As for working for Apple, I haven't used my EE degree in nearly 20 years. Too many random variables with hardware. I'm much happier writing software.

You say you are an engineer and work at apple yet you talk and type like a 13 year old teenager. Hmm?
 
Yes the hell I am !!! Do any of you know how many man hours go into bringing you a new phone or update every year ?
The phone works !!!
As I type this all day iPhone 6s Plus Samsung All day use still at 54 %
also all you TSMC owners let me know how your phone is after a few months use .

Typical use two days weekend, normal charge every night.
40% AT&T LTE one to two bars
60% WiFi AirPort Extreme 802.11ac Comcast cable 120 Mbps
25% screen brightness manual, except when outside at 100%
Hey Siri on all time, mail at 15 min, system services share location and find phone on others off, iCloud music, location on for apps if using except for weather on always, auto app update on for blocker apps others off, diagnostics usage on, advertising off, WiFi assist off, low power mode not used.

Have run this several times since receiving phone on 9/25 with similar results. All running smoothly, no lag, no issues what so ever. It's a keeper.

I bought one 128 GB gold 6S Plus for myself and one 128 GB space gray 6S Plus for a relative. Just checked now, and both are TMSC.
 
Is there a legitimate way to check my chip without buying geek bench. I know it's only 99 cents but aside from finding out the chip, I really have no use for it.
