Which iPad Pro Config Will You Order?

my ipad2 is silver/black bezels, and my ipod touch is all white. must admit, the black bezels are looking kinda heavy these days. back in the day i found black to be more 'technical' and manly, so to speak. white was a bit girly. these days it's all change. variety and all that. Gold/white bezels seems a much nicer choice to me than the awful space grey just for the sake of black bezels. so yesterday :p

Space Gray 128GB w/LTE, Pencil and Smart Keyboard.

I plan to make it my main "computer" and sell my MacBook Pro. We'll see how it goes.

I've used my iPad 4 and Air 1 as my main computer for a while. (Tried with the iPad 2 but the apps just weren't there yet) It's doable.

I am getting tired of all black devices after many years of buying only black phones. That's why I went for a yellow smartphone this time around as well as a golden iPad; it's a refreshing change :)

Will the pro have 3D Touch?
No, iPhone only this year.

If I get one it will bee the lowest/cheapest spec.
I realise iPadPro2 will add all the things missing from this 1st gen model and that's going to be the good one, and by buying the lowest spec you will have the least loss from your sale in 12 months time.

I don't need to load a ton of apps on. the performance is no different, so no point.

whos to to say they will update it in a year? It could be 2 years, the iPad Air 3 could be next year and then the iPad Pro updated the year after.

They wouldn't let the Air 3 overtake the Pro in specifications. So there will be a second gen Pro next year; there has to be.

Force Touch for iPadPro2 in 2016.

If it's on the phones, it will have to come to the iPad Air, and if it comes to that, then it will HAVE to come to the Pro model as that can't be worse than the iPadAir.

Just like touch ID came from Phone to iPad.

And of course, by then, a year time, this force touch we be used by a TON of apps, so won't look good you high end pro model not being able to use this, by then, feature that's build into thousands of apps.

Excellent point, regardless of whether it's 12 months or 24. You just helped me decide which configuration I will get.

There's really no way to know what will change in the next generation. Will Apple add USB-C? Force Touch? 3D Touch? Touch ID 2? Like it's been said a million macrumor times, these kinds of questions could always have us waiting and never buying. But going for the low end is a decent(ish) compromise, until the "good one" for each of us comes along.

Personally, I want in at Gen 1, because I tend to skip generations (unless I can get a good trade-in). Those future features won't add critical functionality to my UX. And if by some miracle Apple decides to drop Lightning in favor of USB-C, then adapters can tide me over at least to Gen 3. And then I'll also know for certain whether I need LTE or more storage.

Indeed.
Other than storing a bit more, there is nothing the cheapest one can't do that the most expensive one can.
If Apple fitted higher spec CPU/GPU in the higher ones, then of course that would be different.

Like buying a sport car for $40,000 which can go 300 miles on a tank of gas
Or buy exactly the same car for $50,000 but it can go 500 miles on a tank of gas.

Force touch will be in THOUSANDS of high end apps in a years time, so it would seem unbelievable that Apple would not wish their top touch screen device to not be able to do this.
And as you say, there is perhaps the chance of other additions.

Hence, this model will be the one to lack things more than any other model.
So get the cheapest one, and enjoy now, and then get the better one next year :)

I am concerned this close to the launch we haven't heard from supply chain sources that a particular component is in short supply and will effect number of units available at launch. Why is the supply chain failing us this time?

Apple has ordered a relatively small quantity of iPad Pros. That's why. There probably are no supply chain issues at this low volume.

128 GB Silver, to match my iPhone, (Gold is a possibility it will always be in a case so I'm more interested in the color of the Bezel than the back.

Wifi and Cellular (AT&T – to go with my unlimited data plan).

I'll use it for editing photographs, (Adobe has already updated some of their apps to run on the iPad Pro - yea!) and writing.

I plan to trade in my existing iPad Air 2.

Im iffy on the keyboard too. Its even more then the surface keyboards, it doesn't protect the back of the unit, and from what i hear, the keys are supper shallow and don't feel great to type on.

Might wait for a review on the keyboard, and check out 3rd party add ons later. I really hope otter box puts out there case for it soon, as I've use otterbox cases on all my IOS devices and they saved them countless times, and i hope they incorporate a way for the case to use a keyboard as well!

Apple is making a Smart Case for the iPad Pro that will be compatible with the Smart Keyboard. That's probably what I'll end up doing.

I wish they had Gold aluminum with a Black screen. I'm not completely sure that I'd buy it, but it would definitely get more consideration than the Gold/White.

Think I am going to buy silver 128gb LTE because of my unlimited data. I hope they make a smart cover cuz I do not like the keyboard cover. At least the big screen will make watching tv on my commute better

LOL! That's Exactly opposite of me. I always get the white iPhone and iPad but I'm getting the space grey iPad this time.

128gig, Wifi, LTE, space grey, with pencil. Rumor has it the Logitech keyboard (Which will cover the back) is the keyboard to get for the Pro.
