White iPhone 4 DELAYED. Officially

+1. I have similar suspicions as well. Big red is set to roll out LTE in 30 major metropolitan areas as well as 10 airports very soon. The timing seems right on, although the fact that the phone would need a CDMA radio versus a GSM radio could nullify this speculation.

That's a shame, though I agree that if a supbar coloring job was done it would be worse.

I wonder what all the people on eBay who laid fir a white phone are going to do. Better yet, the bridge salesman that sold them. I smell dispute.

Very grateful for my black 32 right now.

now think about that whole scenario and think t-mobile and things get a little more plausible.

Someone isn't telling Steve the whole truth and making him look bad...very bad. It makes him look like he is not in control at Apple and out of touch with his staff. For Steve to be on a satage and announcing something and then have to retract it a week later....some heads are gonna roll!

Since a T-Mobile iPhone is rumored to be in the works also, maybe the white iPhone would be it?
 
just put my name on the list at my nearest apple store. Since they are trying to "clear out" these lists this weekend, any chance id get a phone that fast?

I'm not sure what the issue is but its certainly embarrassing for apple not being able to produce a white phone.

+1. I couldn't agree more. That would be ideal getting a phone and giving the consumer the choice as to which carrier is right for them. Also agree about buying new hardware unsubsidized and no 2-year commitment. Unfortunately, there's no way around this - that I'm aware of. I was among many others holding out for the white iP4, but now I'm torn between waiting until iP5 (subsidized) or taking the plunge and buying the black iP4 today (unsubsidized).

Thing is I've already purchased two iP4 docks (one for bedroom and one for office) and a bumper case - which I was told this morning in an email by Apple will be refunded to my CC. My bumper is white. If I get the black iP4, I would like to have the black bumper instead.

As screen printing goes, it is somewhat controllable, doesn't have the tolerance that Apple is wanting to hold the color specification of the white too. Talk about anal..."


I'm sure the antenna issue is compounding the problem.

I don't see any problem here. I was planning to get the white one for Xmas. by then they will be available and all other issues like antenna and such will
be resolved as well. I really don't see why there is such a fuss about the delay.
 
I'm glad I couldn't wait for the white one. I caved in a week after launch. haha! I feel bad for all of you who have been patiently holding out. And I'm laughing at all of you who bought the black one with the intention of returning it to get a white one. LoL!
 
I have no personal interest in the white, but I'm glad that Stevey is seeing some sort of aesthetic backlash from using glass on the back of the phone... seeing that aesthetic concerns are the only ones he cares about maybe he'll turn away from a shatterable back panel in the future, if only by accident.
