White iPhone 4 DELAYED. Officially

I ordered black today, and ive decided im going full invisi-shield and im not paying for a bumper, ill wait 5 weeks for the black and then sell it. Maybe when the white comes out ill buy it and hopefully sell my mint black IP4. Anyone else doing similar?

For some reason i think the black IP4 looks bad with black bumper, with the white it looks like my white 3GS (naked or with the Incase Slider), and Im not paying $50 for a green or orange from ebay.

Naked (+ IS) black IP4 for me.

You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. What exactly were they being dishonest and arrogant about in terms of the 27" iMac??? Really?? They delivered iMac with yellowing screens, they exchanged them multiple times for people until they were satisfied, many people were compensated with money back even if they returned the computer for a full refund, Apple still gave them extra money back for their troubles which didn't make sense to me. That certainly sounds like a company with high integrity, maybe you're just not a good customer. :rolleyes:

A medical reason that requires a white iPhone. Now I have heard everything. I guess there is some medical reason why a case on a black iPhone won't work either.

I'm a native Clevelander (don't live there anymore, but it is and always will be my home)...LeBron is a flippin joke. He woke up on the morning of The decision Michael Jordan and went to bed Scottie Pippen.

Wah wah wah I can't win a championship on my own. Well that's not what he was singing b4... and Hakeem Olajuwon did it with the Rockets! So there. :cool:

Anyways, enough about LeBum. Sore subject for me. :mad:
 
iPhone 4 Fiasco

Hahaha... what a joke... this whole iPhone 4 launch has been something else... from the Gizmodo fiasco, to the yellow spots on the screen to antenna-gate to free bumpers and now the Whitey's wont be available till later this year... Damn, by the time they get here iphone 5 wont be far behind...
well i am glad i got at least the black one... i sure hope Apple refreshes the Mac Pro very very soon... sigh!!
 
Just FYI I just got off the phone with Apple to bitch at them, since my wife has been holding off on purchasing the white, and is concerned if she waits longer then her eligibility cycle will get all screwed up, etc.

The APPLE customer service rep said, "actually, we're not even sure if we'll have them this year." I repeated that back to make sure I heard it right, and she said, "Correct, we may not have them this year, so if your wife wants an iPhone I recommend buying the black."

I don't know if that's a ploy to get us to pop for the black immediately rather than risk losing the sale, but it was disheartening to say the least.

somebody laughed at my suggestion earlier but i think the chain of events has the iphone4 rushed to release, white will be released at the end of the year (a nice 6 month or so time in between black and white) and then iphone five another 6 months later during the summer, with an updated ipad thrown in somewhere. Seems like an idea apple would jump at.

I guess this is correct... in a way, since this is the only iPhone 4 being sold, I guess you could say it's the more popular one. It's certainly more popular than the blue one!

seriously? you called and bitched...wow apple is glad im not an apple care employee (almost was for an internship earlier this year but turned it down because my old job was going to up my pay) i would have bitched right back at you for complaining about such an absurd thing. And honestly if people want a white iphone soooo bad, there is a case for that....buy it and get over it, and well you cant always believe what a low level employee like that tells you so i honestly think they were just trying to get you to buy the phone, which you should if you want the phone because it really is absurd to bitch and moan about a color.....
 
I'm so disappointed right now :( I'm scared to hope that the white iPhone 4 would be available by Christmas :rolleyes:

One thing is for sure: They'd better fix the damn antenna now that they're gonna make customers wait this long for the white iPhone 4 :mad:

I use the word "bitched" liberally here.. I wasn't rude to them. But yes, I think we had every right to complain. Sounds like a good turn of events that you didn't get that internship, you would have made a terrible applecare employee. The bussiness' job is to take its customers' concerns seriously. Often they will compensate when a customer is dissatisfied, and as a dissatisfied customer it never hurts to find out.

The issue is that they just don't know a date. CS knows nothing more than we do... so it's anybody's guess. If it wasn't until 2011, they would just cancel the white all together I'm sure. But I'd bet on not seeing the white iPhone until around November.

Well, they're technically not lying. I mean, historically, black iPhones have been more popular than white models.

The part that makes it iffy is when they apply that logic to the iPhone 4.

There are no data to support that assertion, as there have been no white iPhone 4's sold yet.

I understand your pain. Cleveland is not a market that matters in basketball and with out your star player will sink back to obscurity. I from NY, and what people don't realize here is the knicks are not a team that matters either. (my associates get mad when I tell them that :D)

i still disagree that you had every right to complain but whatever makes you think youre right. Well its not that id make a terrible applecare employee, i just tell the truth....even if its a bitch. Trust me i work with customers at my job and we do compensate them for their dissatification, but they are dissatisified over stuff that actually matters. This is in no way to offend you, but like i said i will tell the truth even if it pisses people off.

It's possible. From what I was told Apple is asking Best Buy (at least this one) to delete the white SKUs from their systems.

I'm starting to think this will be the case.

They'll perfect the white on glass technology in time for the next generation, or abandon it entirely for another material (metal, maybe? like what they did with the iPod).

Hard to say.

I did love the brushed metal on my 1st gen. Sexy!

I can own black phones. The smudgy fingerprints (and I am an above-average hand washer, though not formally OCD) just annoy the hell out of me.

Soo.. I have to keep them in cases.

I was fiddling around with a black iP4 at the Apple Store a couple weeks ago, and my son (who hates the fingerprints like I do) said "that would drive you ****ing nuts, mom."

And he's right.

Such a massive fail on just about everyone's part. You don't hold a press conference and say end of July, then WAIT till the damn near end of July, and basically say "LOL JK JK JK...later this year, try around Christmas!"
