White iPhone 4 DELAYED. Officially

Yeah. Hopefully the external design stays similar for the next iPhone (iPhone 4S, 5, whatever) and I'll just pick up a white one next round.

I woke up this morning, saw the press release and after a little bit of total devastation that Steve lied, put myself on the priority list for a black one. Feels like a weight has been lifted. RIP white iPhone 4, we barely knew ye.

Either folks are really angry and typing in rage or this discussion is of particular interest to poor spellers. Never seen so much poor spelling in a single discussion on MR.

They could have just held up all the iPhones until the white one was ready. I agree at least they are making it right before launching them and they did not make us wait another 6 months for those of us who don't mind black.

Ok, dont go there with the reception. All smartphones have an antenna if you cover it, it will lose reception. Don't be a sheep and listen to the media lies.

ha, my co-worker literally started tearing up. she returned her black in hopes of buying the white, now she has no i4. she is trying to order one.

Vent to Steve Jobs!!!!

FAIL. Everyone vent to Steve Jobs and tell him how much of a loser he is for failing to keep his promise of white iPhones by next week.

I'd rather have them admit their issue, tell the truth and release a proper quality device later than release a sub-par device and have the Whiny McWhinertons of MacRumors create angry threads and call it 'WhiteGate". lol.

(LOVING my Black one BTW) White is for Sony Ericssons anyway. :D

If this failing would really affect the company, he has already heard it from major shareholders.

He would only respond to an individual peon's query if it benefitted the company in some way.

As an AAPL shareholder, I don't want Steve Jobs to answering every single blowhard's e-mail. He needs to focus on more important things. That's right, if I asked him a question, I wouldn't feel entitled to a response.

For people who are outraged that they aren't getting personal responses from Steve, grab some pine, meat.

...Although "Whitergate" would be very tongue-in-cheek as it's similar to the origin of the -gate suffix, Watergate.

Honestly, everyone is well within their rights to email Steve Jobs.

Not more than a week ago he got up in front of COUNLTESS media outlets, even CNN.com for crying out loud and declared the white iPhone 4 available at the end of this month. He didn't mix words...he clearly stated it.

Now? "later this year" Could mean September, October, November, who knows.

The point is, it's a massive FAIL (again) for Apple and people should be up in arms about it. If the Fanboys continue to forgive, forgive, forgive and love love love everything and anything Apple, they are going to notice. And once you become the pushover consumer, good luck.

No, people should be way more pissed that there is no white iPhone coming at the end of this month. Even if you don't want it. Even if you already have a black one.

There comes a point when you have to speak your mind and make your point known. Blatantly misleading, and flat-out lying/deceiving your customers is WRONG and should NOT be tolerated. Go ahead and email Jobs about it. Hope he cares. No arguments here...
 
havent been keeping up w/ the thread but...

Anyone else think they delayed the white ones on purpose, to prevent hordes of ppl from returning the black one to get the white one??

Way to block out the rest of what I said. Someone else posted that you are a jackass and that you are, darling. I said I'm over it, whatever. I was telling everyone else they should get over it and get black as well. Nothing to get sick over. Way to be a diva. Look, Steve Jobs is the CEO. My dad's a CEO. They know everything that goes on within the company, their clients and their contracted agencies. It's their job to ensure everything works swimmingly for the board of directors and investors. There is no way you are going to tell me that you honestly think for even a second that Steve had no idea that they weren't possibly going to magically fix the paint problem and whip up 1 million devices in two weeks. He might have hoped so, yes, and said that in the press conference, but I'd bet he didn't know with any absolute certainty. Which is precisely the reason why companies just say they don't know, or nothing, if they aren't absolutely sure.
