This. With a White iPhone coming out this close to past annual release date(s) of Next Gen iPhones, this further backs the rumors of a later release (fall) of iPhone 5. I love my iPhone 4 and hope that 5 is more kick ass updates under the same hood. Loved my 2g, disliked 3G, 3GS form factors, but am led further to believe that with iPhone 4 coming in white, this late in the cycle, that the iPhone 5 will be more of a slight upgrade iPhone 4G/GS as mentioned in past posts and forums. My .02

Well I think I would be an unwise consumer to pay full upgrade price for old tech. If there is no iPhone in June, I might give Apple a little time to tell all of us whose contracts are up what their plan is, but I doubt I'm going to be willing to hold onto an old phone long enough to see what Apple has in store. At that point I'll give serious consideration to another platform, but I'll resist it as much as possible because I do enjoy Apple hardware. I will not, however, tolerate horrible update cycles and pay full price for them. If that's going to be Apple's game, I won't be playing.

Hehe. That would be true if the general public read technology news... Most people have no idea about the iPhone 5. And there will be queues for the white iPhone 4 when it does come out because people love that kinda stuff!
 
What if....

What if :apple: is just buying time with late release of White iPhone 4 and continuing to push forward with iphone 4 production, for them to get the North Carolina facility up and running to start their own carrier and let existing contracts expire? No crack smoked here, just talking out loud.

Then again, Guess that makes no sense with them expanding carriers existing (Verizon)

I hope there will be dual-core processor and 1Gb ram on the white phone, that's all i am asking for. Otherwise i am going to use my cheap cell phone until iphone 5 comes out.

But I find these news a bit odd. Or rather... This decision. That date would put it so close to the iPhone 5 that I wonder how much it'll be worth the effort. But maybe the iPhone 5 cases will be so similar that most of the manufacturing process will simply be reused in that revision. In that case, Apple can just as well introduce it for the iPhone 4. :)

To answer your question: I have waited for the White iPhone 4, hoping that with the White iP4 release the antenna death grip issue would have been solved. I really hope I am right! Moreover, since adding a plastic protection cover to the Black iP4 solves the issue, probably the new White out-layer has been designed to improve the antenna (i really hope it's the case!)
 
If there were so many problems with the white iPhone 4, how come Stephen Fry has had one (and used it) from the beginning?

What makes you think the iphone 5 will be released in 3-5 months. rumors suggest it could be realeased in Q1 which could mean late OCT or early Nov time frame

I would suggest if you want it get it but if you can hold on then hold on :eek:

Fry has serious adulation for Apple products. No surprise he did the black to white conversion with the phone.
 
With short production and pent-up demand, the white iPhone 4 will be a collector's item.
 
they probably fixed the issue months ago, considering its no problem on the iPad 2 and they just haven't released it just yet to have an excuse to push the iPhone 5 further away

I have a feeling that if the problems were fixed a long time ago, they'd be selling the phone a long time ago. Have you seen all these comments about people waiting to buy white iPhones? Of which i was one.
