Wow...some idiotic comments in here.

I had a Black 4 on release,when the 4S came out i got a White one because i fancied a change.

When what ever it's called comes out next month i might get a Black one, just for a change again.

How the **** can having a white phone make you gay, i suppose my white G-shock is a sign i bat for the other team too, idiot!

ps. i also have a Black G-shock, does having that as well as the White one make me bisexual :p
 
My wife got white. I got black. Honestly I spent a lot of energy trying to get her to buy black. It's good for telling them apart though...

I'm male and have the white. I have a thing about white and silver/grey. Its a bit of an OCD

that is all fine and dandy and I did not say it defines your sexual orientation. I was making an OBSERVATION, and wanted to see how it lined up. Seriously....
 
I'm a male and want to get my new iPhone in white. I also want to get my 5 yr old his new iPad since he has only owed an iPod touch in white. I can't wait, we'll be macthing colors :)

I don't think it was taken out of context completely. Every year people ask "white or black" and then there are the statements about how they want to buy white but they're straight males and heaven forbid they're seen as "gay" because they have a "girlie" phone. Every single iPhone release ... it never fails.

Frankly, I work in a professional environment and my ***** phone is orange. Not white, not black ... orange. Looks like my life will be ok.

"The purpose" is always subjective. What you assume to be the purpose isn't necessarily the other person's purpose. Instead of this poll you should have just asked the question in the second sentence above (though it has been rehashed in countless prior threads).

I always figured white iphone owners were women, surprised to see most are men. Since mine is always in a case I typically haven't cared for the white iphone but maybe this time . . . I need to see it live before I decide.
 
I had a black iPhone 4. I now have a white iPhone 4S. I got it for a change of pace and I really like it. I'll be getting a white (next generation) iPhone. I like how the white portions "hide" scratches. You can't see that and/or fingerprints nearly as bad as black.
 
I had a white iphone 4, I loved it but there was problems like pen starting to smudge on it ( from writing at school and using my phone ) it started to get dirty, and the big ugly black non-blended in sensor that stood out so horribly is what sealed the deal and I got a black iPhone 4S at launch. I like the new white iphone "leaked images" more than the black one but after all the the trouble with the 4 I don't think I'd ever get another white mobile device.

I prefer black but my wife likes the white. I don't see what sex has anything to do with. Now if it was black vs pink I could see it. I don't see a black phone as masculine nor a white phone as feminine, it's just a matter of what color you like. Geez, some folks read a lot into the color of a phone.

Yep, there is consistent hand-wringing over this question. It's pretty hilarious.

Guys: If you are not confident enough in yourself to carry around a white phone, get a black one. Personally, I cannot fathom being concerned about this.

I was thinking the same thing about the iBooks & iMacs. Also thought the same thing about having a white car, I own a white dump truck so that makes me gay too I suppose, not that I'd really care.

I wanted a white iPhone 4 but everybody gave me the same crap as here, that it would look gay if I had a 4. Luckily for them (I guess), Verizon didn't have a white 4 when I got mine and I got stuck with a black one. But I intend to change that and when I get my iPad, it'll be white as well. I guess I'm also gay cause my magic mouse is white. Damn you Apple for turning me gay, what's wrong with being gay anyway??? :apple:
 
I like the black one better, but in my opinion for me its a null issue because I modded the back plate and put a pink one on lol......
