Yep, as is the case with most watches in general, when you really think about it.Ultimately, it looks like the big differentiators between the models are primarily going to be case materials and bands...

Well you're easy to please...Just went to the Apple Store here. The employee at the door who checks people in literally screamed when she saw my Hermès.
That alone was worth the flight and the purchase price.
I may be the only one in town with one. Let's keep it off the hoi polloi please.

I haven't gone to the Apple Store here yet.
I wonder if they got any more in stock back in New York. Has anyone tried at Hermes or the Apple Stores there?
It seems rather odd that only BigGuy219 is posting pictures of the watch.
What about all the others here that bought it. I would like to see some different colors or watch strap types.![]()
Or you are the only one who actually bought it.![]()
Actually, people were buying them at Hermes. I somehow doubt those people hang out on MacRumors, though.

Or you know, they don't give a rat's behind about this forum. There are other humans out there...
There were a couple of people here who wanted to buy the watch. Doesn't matter any way.
Also, the cuff one, which seems the most popular from what I have talked to the sales people at both Hermes and the Apple Store has not had any single shipment. At least in San Francisco. Not a single one has been delivered since Monday.
So you won't see any pictures from the west coast unless L.A. had some shipments.
I bought the last 38mm Fauve Barenia leather model at the UES on Monday (at 9:30am). They had one Noir left. I don't know whether they got any additional shipments in since then.
It looks just like the pictures that BigGuy219 has posted, except smaller, and I'll add that in real life the leather is a bit lighter than it looks in the pictures and on Apple's web site.

KPOM, how 'tight' are you wearing yours? Snug or loose?
Posted this previously, it's 42mm with the Noir band.

And here is with the Sport Band in Stone.

It's exactly the same Sport Edition with aluminum construction and a rubber watch band they sell at Target for $349 and the same as the Edition with 18K gold for $17,000?? It's frankly neither. Neither of those items have watch bands made in France by Hermes and neither have the exclusive watch face or the stainless steel engraving. It's why the luxury and fashion crowd like this particular item. It's singular in many respects and pays respect to a storied fashion house.
But that will always be just an accessory. Hermes could have released a band under Apple's "Made For" program, but it wouldn't have Apple's marketing support and would lack the special watch face and co-branding. It's somewhat easier to do that for Android Wear devices since you can download watch faces, but it still comes down to the marketing support and co-branding.
Hermes is all about accessories. And the Watch itself is an accessory to the iPhone. I get packaging a complete product, which is why Apple is likely to never sell the Watch without a band. So I get this product. I don't agree that it should be co-branded like this, and I think eventually ties Apple's hands, and diminishes their achievement by sharing the limelight with Hermes, and elevating the watch band to the same status as the watch itself. But we shall see.
Not being a Hermes customer, I just don't understand why I wouldn't buy an Watch somewhere else, and then buy my Hermes watchbands separately. I guess we'll see if Hermes ever sells the watch bands separately.
It's singular in that it has a custom crafter leather band, that is no different than many other custom crafted bands they have created for other watches they sell. It's the exact same stainless steel Watch case that they're selling in Target and London's, without the "Hermes" engraving which is a sham anyway since Hermes had nothing to do with the watch case, nor the internal hardware which is exactly the same as all other watches regardless of materials. The Hermes Watch face is exclusive to this particular model, but seriously ... it's technically not anything that can't be duplicated on the other watches, if only Apple would allow minimal customization by the consumers. And what if a Hermes customer doesn't like the Hermes watch face, and prefers Tapping Mickey? Then there's really nothing that sets it apart from any other stainless once you remove the bands, yet the watch will still read Hermes on the back.
Like I stated, I get why someone would pay a premium for the bands, but beyond that there's nothing special about the watch from any other watch in its class, and certainly no reason to compliment the thought and care specific to this watch.
