single tour (removing the cuff)

I was wondering whether this was possible — while it seemed clear that the lower part of the loop would slide out easily, I'd assumed that the buckle would be too wide to fit through the slots in the cuff. I'm guessing from your post that's not the case? Makes me want one even more...

While the buckle prevents this while it is on, you can just slide out the other side and then remove the strap from the watch and wiggle it.

Now I hate to be a pain, but could you post a picture of that face with Today's date (10/20)? I'm curious to see how the date box expands to accommodate two wide characters, which I assume it does.

On a side note, I'm kind of surprised Apple allows screen shots of the watch face.

Here ya go:

I kinda thought the moon phase (looking) complication wasn't really active....but it appears to be. (See my current watch face and this one from someone posting earlier.)

heres mine with a different typeface. :)

So it's a 500 quid premium for a Hermes branded Apple Watch with a leather band. And that's it? No extra features or hardware? Totally worth it.

How's this any different from taking any other screenshots (or even a photo of the watch face)? Nobody can currently make an active analog face for the AW.

Unless you think custom watch faces are never coming, the ability to take a picture of a copyrighted watch face is arguably unnecessary, but will easily give people the tools they need to make a perfect replica of that face. There are a lot of ways around Apple's built-in protections/restrictions, but none are incorporated into the OS. For instance, I can't take a screen shot of a movie playing on Apple's DVD player. It's a lot harder to give someone the ability to do something, then take it away from them, than never having allowed them to do it in the first place.

Thanks, it's a little less elegant with two fat numbers like that. But the moon phase is definitely accurate, as today's is exactly a 1st quarter moon. The other watch face looks to be a Balsamic moon, the last time of which was October 8th, which would make that watch one of the first purchased.

Does the Hermes watch support the other watch faces too? I think it'd be pretty silly if it didn't, but I can't quite remember whether a video I watched only showed that face as being available or not.

All faces an ⌚️ allows (minus the ⌚️ Edition extras) are available on a Hermès ⌚️ plus 3 Hermes watch faces - clipper, cape cod, & espace. BTW - I'm done w/posting faces. Perhaps someone else can oblige.

Of which they can't even make an active analog face for the AW, at least for the time being. That's the real restriction on Apple's part and I doubt they care about random people using replicas on other watches. It's also moot as anyone can easily make a replica from photos, etc.

Yes but the point is Apple doesn't enable it. I can make a custom ringtone for my iPhone, but Apple doesn't allow me to easily make one using their tools.

And Apple isn't allowing people to make a replica of analog watch faces for use on the Apple Watch, so your point is...?

I believe I already covered that above ... so you think Apple is never going to let that happen? Once you let customers do something, it's harder to take it away later.

The fact is, right now, the screenshot of an analog watch face is useless. So Apple hasn't let the customers do anything yet. What makes you think this will ever change?

Guess you win then. Apple will never let a customer create a custom watch face, as evidenced by the fact they let them take screen shots of copyrighted watch faces now, which would only be used to circumvent buying the same watch face from a future online store. /s

Say Apple does come out with a watch face store. All they have to do is make sure we can't add our own backgrounds to whatever watch faces they are selling. We still have to buy the Hermes watch face from Apple if we want a working Hermes (or whatever) watch face on our watches. I don't understand why you think existing screenshots will help us circumvent this hypothetical watch face store.

It doesn't, it only circumvents the store if the screen shots can be used behind a custom analogue watch face, in the way Apple is currently allowing a custom background for the digital watch face.

To be fair, it's not like the user would be able to use the screen shot as-is in that event without some additional editing, software which Apple doesn't provide. So in that sense it's not like Apple is providing the means to easily do this, though it's a lot closer than with a ringtone.

I'm considering the 38mm, as I long ago decided 40mm was the largest size for me in mechanical watches. But I see that the 38mm Hermès strap only fits to 180mm, and I have a 7" wrist. I'm concerned it won't fit or will be on the last hole and look funny. Can you be of any assistance regarding my concerns?

Sorry, I'm not sure. I only have the link bracelet and a sport strap, at the moment.
