Don't know...class action suits have been started by all types of folks. Remember, those celebs who got hacked via phishing sued GOOGLE in a class-action lawsuit (i think or suit of some kind) because Google left the links to nude pics on the web for a few days instead of instantly deleting it. Do you think that these uber rich celebs wanted money from Google?

Don't know much about that Google suit, but sounds like that is about protecting privacy. While your theoretical suit for gold Apple Watch not getting support after 5 years is just about money.

What don't you just buy the Hermès Edition watch ? IMHO the Hermès strap only makes sense when you also have the Hermès clock faces :)

dude, because they were sold in an instant :) #andyouweresleeping
See I don't want the face. I think it takes away from the smart watch part of the watch. It's like when I had the pebble steel long before the AW came out. All I wanted was a good analog face that had temp and battery life on it. There was nothing. You had to go to your weather app on the watch to get that. I use the utility watch face now, and I would not want to the Hermès unless it had complications. Plus what am going to do with the SS I have now that I got at launch? It sure it's not worth the $700 I got it for.

Just get the standard Hermes band and retrofit the Apple adapters to it. A member did that.

He said retrofit. You can find adapters that are smaller then 24mm. That is if you would like to go that route.

Where? All i can find are 24mm ones. Also, AW is wide...so, fitting in a 21mm band is too small IMO. I think 23-24mm is optimal given the squarish shape of AW. That's just me though.

Or do what the member did and purchase the stock band from a Hermes store without the adapters then retrofit with Apple adapters that you can easily purchase off eBay, etc. It was posted earlier in this thread. Although they may give you trouble if you're not an existing Hermes owner.

At least on eBay at this time, there are no single tour options that fits Apple adapters.

I have a clockwork work nylon Band that has a custom adapter for the AW. It's a few mm smaller then the AW adaptor. Not sure the exact measurement. Do you want me to look up a smaller adapter? If you don't think it would look good, I will not bother but I am happy to show you.

I am interested. Do you know where you bought it from?

Only problem is a don't have a Hermès shop near me. But you say they might give me trouble since I have not a pervious Hermès owner?

I saw similar on Amazon...and i think that it is still 24mm. Can you measure yours?
I just put it up to my Apple leather band and it's pretty close. I would say at best 22mm. Not much help with the smaller Hermès bands. Sorry this was not the greatest option. Click is also got some good Adaptors but they are for preorder right now.

Except the name Hermès on the back of the Hermès edition watches.
That's a final finishing step before it goes into the box, like the iPod/iPhone/iPad customer engraving option. Apple has the most tightly controlled Supply chain in the world, as Hermes gets low in inventory, Apple will slow production and ship only what's requested -- and all that's required is diverting the exact same watch case going to the standard watch to the Hermes engraving station, and packaging.

Hermes will likely be able to offer the same bands with the 2nd gen watch, as well as many other watches Hermes sells. This is the best deal they could ever hope to have -- get their name on a product they don't have to do anything for other than make bands they're already making for other watches to begin with.

Maybe but if you look at their history of collaborations, Hermes don't hang around. See link i posted before: https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/what-hermes-means-to-watch-collectors-apple-watch-hermes

Hermes has partnered up with plenty of iconic brands before (e.g. Rolex, Leica)...and their partnership is short-lived. Basically, they make one special edition.

I hope that you're right and that hermes makes an exception this time...but given their heritage (and they are themselves an icon), i doubt that we will see Hermes with Gen 2.

As an Apple fan, i am pretty sure that Apple need(ed) Hermes more than Hermes need Apple. Hermes is already the top dog in leather fashion & quality.

I was thinking about it, could you not get the Hermès cuff and take the single tour out of it? They still have them on Apple.com I think.

Two things. More expensive. Also Cuff only has ONE excess band holder. I have small wrist. I need both! Lol

Yeah I just thought about it too, but $1500 for a watch with a band that half of it I don't like.

Exactly. I think that someone other than me is hooked! :D I am not into fashion nor any high end stuff (T-shirt and jeans guy), but once i saw the band and face and then read up on the culture and handmade nature of it, i cannot stop drooling for it. Yeah, there is a 2nd gen coming out soon, but i still want it! Hell, i am still using iPhone 5s simply because i love the design and small size. (And one of the reasons i chose Apple Watch over upgrading phone is that it allows me to do Apple Pay, which is the one major feature that is missing on my 5s that i want to use.)

But like you, what will i do with my current AW? I hate to spend $1150 more and have two AWs...boy talk about being a fanboy! :D

Yeah I love my AW. Best watch I have ever had, and most expensive. The Hermès band looks amazing, but I can justify spending another $1150 on a watch just for the band. If I could just get the band that would be amazing. I do enjoy my classic buckle, but the fit is not exact. One hole is too big and one is too small. I am thinking of putting a butterfly clasp on it and seeing if I can get it more comfortable.

The one thing that is frustrating the mess out of me though, is I am trying to get in shape and the fitness tracking for me works well with the AW. The problem is I have been using Weight Watchers, but they updated their app and now it won't read from the health app. Now none of my fitness tracking is collected in the app I to track my fitness. Still love the Apple Watch.
