Nope. A ban for keep returning working units...

Oh ok. You should let Apple know what you've decided is properly working unit. I'm sure they don't want you upset thinking that someone who has purchased properly functioning unit by your standards is getting away with something. Let me know how that goes. ;)

Got an Air 2 at Best Buy this weekend and passed my original Air on to my husband after checking out the new one for any issues. I'm pleased to say I didn't find a single problem - screen is bright and uniform and makes my Air look a bit pinkish. I say that as a nitpicky Apple enthusiast and annual upgrader who has returned iPads and iPhones in past years for uneven and/or yellow-tinted screens. I must be on a roll this year because my launch day 6 Plus arrived in flawless condition as well. Perhaps Apple has tightened up QC a bit? I hope so...

Decided to call them today and they didn't even let me explain really lol they saw it was purchased less than two weeks ago and where like whatever we will just sent u a new one. It even comes with a new invoice and new warranty

Apple QC horrible.

Apple online uk took me THREE replacements iPhone 6 128Gb all had stuck pixels/dust. (Fourth one came perfect)

Apple Store Manchester uk took me TWO replacements iPhone 128Gb both had dust. (Third one perfect)

Apple online uk took me THREE replacement iPad Air 2 128Gb cellular all three had stuck/dead pixels at the end I requested a full refund.

Apple Store Manchester uk took me ONE replacement iPad air 2 128Gb cellular the first one had dust. (My replacement was perfect no dead/stuck pixels or light bleed.)

My bad luck continues ordered a Apple iPad case online last Monday got lost.
Replacement being sent lol

----------

No screen problems so far for me. I am on my second iPad air 2 since the first one had the home button sticking out.
The second one seems to be perfect, it does have some backlight bleeding at 100% but its totally acceptable.
I have played the exchange lottery and it's not fun. You get one with a scratch, the next one has a dead pixel, next one has dust under screen, next one is yellow/pink, next one has raised home button etc.
Unless the problem is very sever just enjoy the device and don't go OCD like I used to, it's just not worth it.

UPDATED: Decided I will not follow my own advice and play the lottery once again since I couldn't live with the backlight bleed. Took a photo (see below) to show a genius and as usual with their amazing customer service they gave me a new one on the spot. Just setting it up now and it has no backlight bleeding or other screen issues. I never seem to have these problems with iPhones or Macs (apart from once), just with the iPads (iPad mini 1st gen, iPad Air and now iPad Air 2).
However just dealing with Apple costumer support once again made me realise, even if Apple is not always perfect, that they are the best. I couldn't imagine how this would have been handled if it was an OEM, oh the horror.

That some crazy light bleed I would return that.
(Going to be horrible watching a movie with light bleed)

My first iPad came like that.

I haven't done any in depth testing or stared at it side-by-side with another to find any issues.....

To me, my iPad Air 2 display is perfect and looks great. But I don't spend any time looking for defects. Generally, pretty easy to please.

I've had my share of bad apples over the years however my iPad Air 2 is perfect

Small metal speck?

My screen looks great but I have a very tiny spec under the glass on the Bezel. It is so small. Thought about returning it but everything seems perfect otherwise. I may get one with something else wrong. Almost looks like metal.

Do not return be cause you may get a worse one. I just went through 5 iPad Air 2, and I am now replying you on my 6th. The reasons I returned and exchanged upto 6 iPads are pink hue, upgrading from Wifi Only to Cellular and from 64 GB to 128 GB. My 5th iPad, a 64 GB Cellular, was perfect, and the disorting was alomost non-existent . My current iPad Air 2, 128 GB Cellular, is almost perfect except one thing, the disortion is more noticeable than the 5th one was.

P/S: I got the 128 GB Cellular $100 of on bestbuy, com last weeken. Therefore, it costs the same as my old 64 Gb one did. This is reason I returned the 64GB one.

I've seen some people here claiming they got a perfect screen on the Air 2. I'm just curious. If you feel you have a perfect screen on your Air 2, is this by any chance your first iPad? If not, which iPad did you upgrade from? How was the screen on that? How are they in comparison? Do you see any indication of a shadow running along the left side (in portrait mode) on your Air 2?

Now that my 2GB RAM honeymoon is over, I'm starting to question my purchase. I pulled out my old iPad 4 and the screen is just so much nicer on that one. I wouldn't say the screen on my Air 2 is terrible, but I've definitely noticed some backlight uniformity issues along the left side (in portrat mode). On a red, blue or green screen, there's a faintly visible line of shadow running along the entire lefthand side about 3/4 of an inch from the edge itself. On a white background, the top and bottom of that line is barely perceptible, but a faint shadow around the center of the line remains. Basically around the center of the spacebar when using it in landscape mode. It kinda looks like a permanent fingerprint smudge even after polishing the screen. The bottom edge and the left edge also looks a bit dim compared to the right edge which looks perfect. The bottem left corner is even noticeably dimmer than that. When holding it in front of my Eizo Foris FS2333 IPS monitor, these flaws become much more obvious. I've attached a photo to help illustrate the issue. It doesn't look anywhere near as bad to my naked eye as it does in the photo. If it did, I would obviously have noticed right away and returned it for an exchange instantly.

The thing is, if this was my first iPad, I'd probably think this is to be expected or if I was upgrading from the Air 1, which to my understanding has similar issues, it may not seem so bad when comparing the two. But compared to my iPad 4, the screen feels like a downgrade. That's despite the anti-reflective coating which isn't such a big deal to me because I always used my iPad inside in a fixed position, where there is not a whole lot of light reflection going on. Switching back and forth between the two, I've also realized that the only major difference I'm feeling between the two is the 2GB RAM. I don't really pick my iPad up. It sits on my desk. So weight and thinness doesn't matter a whole lot to me. In short, it feels like I'
Heroes, heroes, husky men of war,
Sons of all the hreoes, of the war before.
We're all heroes up to our ear o's
You ask questions
We make suggestions
That's what we're heroes for.

All good heroes love a good, big fight
Open up the bomb bays and brighten up the night.
We applaud the people who laud us,
You pull the roses,
We punch the noses,
That's what we're heroes for.

What's a hero do?
Well, we're not gonna tell ya
Cause we wish we knew.
That's why we heroes are so few.
We've got a slogan
From Colonel Hogan
And Colonel Hogan's a hero too.

Never flinch, boys, never be afraid,
Heroes are not born, boys, heroes are made.
Ask not why, boys, never say die, boys,
Answer the call, remember we'll all be heroes forever more.

source: http://www.lyricsondemand.com/ve traded a pro for a con and paid a premium for it in the process. That makes me question my purchase. Now, if the screen wasn't an issue, if it was just as good as on my iPad 4, I'd probably feel okay about my purchase.

So bottomline is, do I exchange this and hope to get a better screen or do I simply return it and continue using my iPad 4, tab reloads and all? It seems pointless to me to go through numerous exchanges if what I'm seeing is to be expected with the Air 2 (keep in mind that it's more subtle in RL than on the photo). So if you happen to own an Air 2 without these flaws (and no tinting, dead pixels atc.), please speak up. Likewise, if you've gone through numerous exchanges and all of them had these or similar flaws, please speak up as well. It'll give me an idea about which odds I'm up against.

Ive owned the iPad, iPad 2, iPad 3, iPad mini, iPad 4, and the iPad Air 2.
My iPad Air 2 screen has no shadows or brightness problems. It has no zigzagging issue, no dead pixles, and no color tint problem and no distortions when holding it.

The screen on my iPad Ari 2 is every bit as good as the screens on my iPad 3 and iPad 4, of which I still own. The iPad, iPad 2, and iPad Mini were sold off.

I purchased my iPad Air 2 from B&H Photo in NYC.

My iPad Air 2 is blazingly fast, and by far, the best iPad I've owned to date. If yours has defects you should get it replaced.

I had to go through 3 iPads till I got a great one with no light bleed.

I have two Air 2's waiting to be opened . I'm hoping I don't have to go through the same routine I did with my 3. I kept the 3 for this long because it took so long to get an acceptable unit.

just checked 5 open models at a store. 3 had the slight shadow on the left side. 2 seemed good. no ipad air 1 had the issue.

just bought a 64gb one after taking my 16gb one back to apple. scared to open the box now lol cross your fingers

Hi,
How would you guys judge mine with respect to your experience? I would not want to go through the exchange lottery that i had unforunately experienced on air 1. I know that the top right corner (vertical mode) is there and at the end I notice it if I look at it as it doesnot really distracts me during movies watching in the night...........
Thanks for your feedback

i thought i had a perfect screen, but few days ago, when cleaning it, i noticed a small grain of so ething that seemed dust on it... but it's not on the display, but actually seems under it. i know that laminated display should not have any gap bewtween glass and screen, but that's it... maybe is an impefection of the glass...

anyway i don' see it in any normal usage but only when display is turned off and i really pay attention to it.

so i think i'm not going to do anything about it for the moment...

That light bleed looks like my second iPad replacement.
My light bleed was bad at 50% brightness.
Get that exchange

I depends can you live with? Or do you want to play the iPad screen lottery. (Did you purchase the iPad in a Apple Store?)
If you did take it back to your Apple Store make sure you check your replacement iPad instore for any defects before you leave the store.
I had to return five iPads before I got one without stuck/dead pixels and no light bleed at 100% brightness. Not a fun experience for anyone to go through.

Best thing I do have a Apple Store less than 3 miles where I live.

I bought it on on line apple store and no apple store where I live. It would thereby mean to try the lottery of the replacement units sent directly by apple and that I would discover only after unpacking it. I can stand with it at the end as i rarely set more than 50%brightness, as it is only noticeable on black and as there is no dead pixel on this screen (i would never accept dead pixel).
I am interested into knowing how many people have an almost no backlight bleed screen as i fear that, also because of LCD technology, it would be more probable to have one with than without.
Thanks
