My iPad Air is perfect. I've been using it off and on all day and yesterday afternoon. I'm just getting used to the huge screen.

----------

Some of you are freaking insane with a dash of hospital grade OCD.

I just took my air out of the box, did a 5 minute inspection and I am good to go.

As long as there isn't a defect that I can notice under normal use, why do I need "more"?

Will you really use your iPad under the extreme conditions that you use to test? No. And if you do, you may need something other than a tablet....

Yeah, I Agree. People are way too OCD about these things. Some things can't be unseen, so they should stop looking for problems and just enjoy their iPads. They're pretty much scaring the **** out of other people on the forum. Lol

Perfectly fine here..
When you look for something you'll find it.

Exactly

Mine seems perfect, but I'm not OCD enough to give it a forensic examination under spot lights or start downloading apps to check everything.

Apparently I have a life .

Me. Mint condition, no scuffs, scratches, dings light leaks or otherwise. In fact, out of every iOS device owned (I have had them all) I only had to have a 3G replaced due to a dark spot on the LCD and an iPad 3rd gen which had a row of faulty pixels after 8 months of use.

Mine seems to have a few tiny light marks by the microphone on the back, tried rubbing it off but it won't go as around the edges i think some glue got on the iPad from the protective plastic.

It's faint so camera can't pick it up, other than that the screen has a slight dim tinge on the left as well.

Worth trying to exchange do people think or roll with it as other's are bound to have the same issue for the time being?

Perfect.....love the screen tint and the colors pop!

Oh and my safari is snappier hahhahhahahaaaaaa:D

Perfect. Although it is my second one. Launch day, rose tinted screen replaced.

Cosmetically mine is fine. Screen is good. Although I did just experience a freeze in Safari while on Twitter. Had to restart. No big.

Mine was perfect. At least perfectly fine. No dents or scuffs. Turned on immediately. No screen issues. Although I had Safari and the ABC app crash on me. I was watching Revenge on the ABC app so maybe it was taking up too much space.

Just chime in and try balance out the moaners on macrumors.
Mine is is also perfectly fine.
I'm not a new iPad owner this is my 4th generation now.
And I know a thing about color calibration etc.
So STOP moaning

I ordered two and both are perfect! Best ipad made to date and I'm glad I went with the air this time instead of the mini. I love the bigger screen and the weight is perfect. Great product!

Id like to know this as well

Honestly? Turn it on and just see how it looks to you. A lot of 'issues' people report are incredibly minor, some to the point of not being visible to a large percentage of users. If you get a device that you're happy with then you're good. If not take it back to wherever you bought it from for replace or refund.

Ultimately the standards some users here demand are unrealistic in any product, let alone a (relatively) cheap device like an iPad. That's not to say there aren't legitimate issues of course. Any product will have its lemons (and good lord have I got some stories I could tell...) with the chances of problems higher with initial batches but the vast majority are likely to be within what most would consider acceptable boundaries.

On that note my Air is easily the best iPad I've owned to date. Finish is spot on, the screen is a nice colour temp and backlight bleed pretty much non-existent. Lovely bit of kit and a huge jump from the iPad 3 I was using. Feels really solid too, in fact the hardest thing to get used to is a screen that's still a bit, uh, 'sticky' in use simply because it hasn't had 18 months of tapping to put up with!

Mine is also perfect. First thing I always check for is a dead pixel, next I check the chamfered edges and back. Finally I check all the buttons. I'm really REALLY happy with it. IMO it's stunning, I couldn't use anything else.

My black 32gb is also perfect, no dead pixels or scuffs, etc.

Funny thing is, I originally bought the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1. Bought and returned 3 different times because of dead pixels and awful build quality. Finally gave up and exchanged for iPad Air. Was nice to open it up and have a tablet with no defects.

Everything is good with mine. From looking at it next to my 3rd gen I now see that the 3 had a yellow tint to it. I never noticed :)

For the record, 32gb black Verizon model from the Apple Store.

Perfect.. And I'm quite fussy.

Though I wouldn't have been surprised to find something wrong with it. An iPhone 5 and iPad 3 both had chunks out of them before I'd even lifted them out the box.

All fine here, no complaints. Still prefer my Nexus 7, some of the iPad apps are such a let down ( no bbc weather app for retina iPad....)

No scratches, no dead pixels, no hot pixels, no screen discolorations.

Just another perfect iPad Air.
