That's roughly what I'm paying in FL. Same driving record. You realize to insure both of my EVs (my partner and mine) - we pay almost $500/mo here in CA?
And we both have perfect records. No accidents, no tickets, nothing (last 10 years+).

Me agreeing with this guy for the first time. Amazing.Thought this was an interesting point giver the earlier discussion on self driving cars.
Maybe that’s true since finance is generally localized. He even makes money when you file bankruptcy because you have to attend his online class 😂Must be a US thing. Nope never come across him. Our equivalent would be Martin Lewis I guess.
Wow it pains me to agree with him as well. It annoys me when people point out minor defects in self driving but pretend major defects don’t exist with human driversMe agreeing with this guy for the first time. Amazing.
Two years ago it was alleged to be something like 20% of the cars sold. I am sure it is less now, but not less than 1% less.Well, I'm not questioning your opinion, but, there was just recently a ruling in Florida against Tesla for like $250M.
Secondly, Tesla is still level 1 or 2 autonomous as Tesla does not take any liability.
And what's the percentage of Teslas that actually have FSD enabled? I do not know but I am certain that far less than 1% of registered vehicles in the US have "FSD" so I am not convinced that it is a statistically representative number.
What I meant to say was less than 1% of all registered cars, not 1% of Teslas…Two years ago it was alleged to be something like 20% of the cars sold. I am sure it is less now, but not less than 1% less.
Well yeah, but is that the case for all ADAS systems? What I meant to say was less than 1% of all registered cars, not 1% of Teslas…
You might be right but it’s new. At one time gasoline cars represented 1% of vehicles on the road. The change isn’t going to happen overnight. What I meant to say was less than 1% of all registered cars, not 1% of Teslas…
last time I needed tires, showed the guy at America's tire the quote I had from Costco (included a $70 mfg rebate) and they matched it. Plus gave me the $70 mfg rebate too. This as for a set of Michelin Defenders for my Prius Prime.Just had to get a set of tires for my wife's 2018 Tesla Model 3 LR AWD. Went with Costco's Bridgestone Turanza Prestige as they were on sale and much less than other tires I was looking at. America's Tire was mostly $1400 after the protection package. This is $1100 after taxes, and we'll get a $50 Costco card with it.
Earliest we can install these is mid September so... will let y'all know how they do. According to initial reviews are somewhat positive.
I have the Michelin Primacy A/S on my 2024 (and mine are 18') - absolutely love them. Barely any wear after 10,000 miles. Wife has the 19' rims.
Amazing how expensive tires are for these vehicles.
Yea, I saw a video on YouTube or maybe it was a news site about this the other day. Should be pretty easy to avoid this. Don't use Ethernet or WiFi with your EVSE.Interesting hack, disable overheating protection remotely on EV chargers.

Always fun the hackers conferences, but I'm a little confused by this one. Perhaps it is me, or is it more geographical thing?Interesting hack, disable overheating protection remotely on EV chargers.

I think it is a sign that this category vehicle is here to stay. I really like the Renault 5, and yes the id Polo is great as well. I wouldn't personally like doing long distance in it, but for most people and most journeys those are great options. We just need on from Ford for a Fiesta as well. Stellantis, nah no thank youVW ID.Polo looks like just my sort of EV. A compact 5 door that just looks normal and isn't a high riding SUV. Pricing looks decent.
I have one of these up the street from me. I have used them a few times without issue. A definite cheap. I have home charging now so not something I need to use as it is no faster then my home charging. I can't remember the pricing but it worked out to be a $1 an hour. So to almost get me to 80% was less than $5Decided to visit my local ChargePoint HQ near where I live. Their DC chargers now charge my Tesla at 120 kW vs the 69-72 kW it was doing before (station limited). This is great news since they're the closest rapid charger to where I live. Their DC rapid chargers are $.40/kWh. They also have new 19.2 kW level 2 stations with Tesla adapters as well - single charges at:

Very happy to find these new level 2 stations - as they only charge $.30/kWh. Going to be making more use of these.
There are a LOT of ChargePoint chargers up here in Northern CA. They aren’t perfect. A lot of them are the old generation - where they share a 6.6? kW line - so if two people are charging you get barely 3kW. A lot of the city chargers are ChargePoint up here with some insane rates during peak hours.I have one of these up the street from me. I have used them a few times without issue. A definite cheap. Probably won't make it to the USI think it is a sign that this category vehicle is here to stay. I really like the Renault 5, and yes the id Polo is great as well. Perhaps not this generation, but hopefully the next will. They are brilliant little cars. I’m still temper by the Alpine version of the Renault 5. I don’t need it, but I want it. Saying that the id Polo in a GTI or I think they use the GTX denomination would be awesome.Probably won't make it to the US
Would love to see more choices here ...
