if the hole ever closes up don't force anything through. that just builds scar tissue that you will not be able to get rid of easily, if at all. while 14g isn't terribly big, it can still tear wrong by forcing it through. if it were to close again try 16, if its too small for that get something thats 18. once the 18 fits and is fine, then move slowly to 14 over a couple of weeks. you don't want to damage your skin/tissue.

oh and lip piercings really don't hurt at all. since you have to clean out your mouth with antiseptic and that your mouth is pretty numb when they pierce you. at least if they're fast it will be numb

Yeah, I was just too impatient to bother going through the guages again. Don't plan on letting it close up again :)

Maybe so, but I'm still a *****.

About 14 years ago, I was working with a girl who had a lot of ear piercings. The conversation came up one day and I asked how many she had, and told me some # that didn't translate to what I saw. I naively asked where and without a blink she preceded to tell me every body part (and there were many) that was pierced. It was one of those times I wish I had kept my mouth shut.

i got my ears pierced about 10 yrs ago. i havent put earings for 3 yrs... do you think i should repierce my ears ??

Just stretched my nipple up to 6 gauge (4mm). Currently got an internally threaded titanium barbell (steel is too heavy now). I tore skin inside the piercing this time which tickled to say the least. But oh well.. thats half the fun.

I have my tongue and my navel pierced. It's funny because I sort of look like a goody-goody so people are always shocked when they see my tongue piercing.

That's how I was as well. But my gran made me take out my tongue piercing :( I could redo it but since I'm living under her roof, better not!

I got both of my ears pierced when I was 8, and I still wear earrings to this day. Although they used a piercing gun, I still remember crying as soon as they put the hole and earring through my ear lobe. I can tolerate needles fine, but not piercings. :D

Left ear many moons ago when I was 16 (1985) and it was trendy.
Took it out a couple months later when I realized I'd look silly when I was 40 with a pierced ear.
And now that I am 40, I'm thinking I probably should have just left it in...

Since this thread has been resurrected from the dead, I have a question:

If you have your tongue pierced, doesn't it get in the way of talking? I mean, I had (and still wear) my hawleys, and man alive I whistle like the beaver
in Lady & the Tramp when I wear them.

just a thought... I've never actually heard someone with a tongue piercing do any amount of talking.

Nope, doesn't affect speech at all...although it helps to practice chewing differently so you don't chomp down on a stainless steel ball. That's an experience you'll never want to repeat.
