Pretty good deal and idea there!

Just sold my iPad 1 32GB 3G + Wifi for $350, I'm excited to buy the 3. I will probably be getting a base 16GB Wifi model because I never needed that much space nor the 3G, plus it seems the base models are the easiest to resell.

Me!
Upgrading from a 64GB WiFi iPad 1 to a 64GB (or 128GB if they release it) WiFi iPad 3. Hoping to be at an Apple Store on the morning of launch! 😀

I also think that 16GB is enough if you're not storing movies and videos on the iPad itself. I never had iTunes movies on my iPad and just watched Netflix or YouTube.

I will and I can't wait. With iOS5, Safari has become increasingly unstable, and it seems anytime i start typing something in any app, it begins to lag.

It's still a great device, but if even half the stuff they're saying about iPad 3 is true, it's going to be a HUGE upgrade for us. The only way I may be slightly on the fence is if there is no retina display.

I will upgrade for the same reason I upgraded my iPhone. Not so much that I am pining to upgrade, but with the upgraded operating system the older models really get slow and buggy. So looking forward to the upgrade anyway. Might go white this time . . .

My iPad 1 does everything I need it to, which is mainly for travel and cooking. i just can't justify buying anything new until this one dies. Now, once iOS 6 comes out later this year, we'll see if that opinion changes.

Sold the same exact model for that exact price on Craigslist. Got cold hard cash. Hoping the iPad 3 is what I want or else I'm going transformer prime.

Im keeping my iPad 1 until Apple stops supporting it, then I'll think about upgrading.

I think the iPad has a good year until Apple stops supporting it. If it stays true, I think the iPad 1 will be good until iOS 6.1 or 6.2 or whatever. It just doesn't have enough ram or processing power to keep up.

Sold my iPad 32GB wifi for $325 a few weeks ago on Craigslist. I payed $350 for it refurbished, so not bad. 🙂 Buying the iPad 32GB whatever it has with my that money and my birthday money. I'm one of the weird people hoping its thicker to make it easier to hold. 😛 Retina, faster processor, more RAM, and possibly a storage bump (16-32 for same price, unlikely but hopefully) I'm sold! Even without the Retina display it would new faster than the iPad it is replacing and will have a good resale value if I choose to start upgrading yearly. 🙂

Definitely me!
I almost bought the iPad 2, but due to short availability I wasn't able to get one right away. Then, when I saw how crappy the cameras were I decided to wait for the next one.

I just hope it comes with 128GB Storage. 😕

I hope there will be preorder just like iPad 1. iPad 2 didn't have preorder and I would really hate to wait in line especially on weekdays. One of the reasons I didn't get 2. By the time they are easily available the new one is just around the corner.

I'm still back and forth on this.
The iPad 1 is still a great unit and had Apple not been so cheap with the ram I'd still be happy with the 1 but it is slowing down and safari is crashing as soon as it has a little bit of a load on it.
Everything else I love about it especially the design over the iPad 2.
If Apple don't at least put a 1gig in the 3 I will wait for the 4.
Because I don't think that anything else matters more for longevity as the ram.

2 ipad 1's gave one to my kid and the other is going into the wall to control my lights, landscaping and home theater room. 😀

Glad I didn't splurge on an iPad 2 even though I love the design of the magnet cover.

i'll probably wait a few months for the hype to die down, nothing makes me more miserable than being in a crowded apple store. I hardly use my iPad anymore...mainly just use it to control my home theater.

If it has a retina display the size of some apps will surely be pushed to 1-2GB, HD videos will be larger and so will images.

A 128GB will be a must.

I certainly hope so, but if it's handled just as a high DPI display, it may not make a big difference, specially for apps that mainly do rendered graphics.

HD videos would definitely take more space, at 1080i or 1080p.
I really hope Apple doesn't mess up and doesn't release a 128GB iPad.

Yeah, RAM is the main reason for upgrading. At 256MB it really runs out of memory quickly. Restarting periodically helps, but still it's a pain.
I import articles into Pages to re-format into a new layout, with photos, etc. and after a while it starts crashing due to the lack of RAM.

I'm selling my 64 GB wifi 1st gen iPad this weekend for $325 (which I think I made off pretty well with that). Now just debating on color and storage plan for the iPad 3.
