Has Best Buy told you they will price match the $100 back?

Some things I've read say that they won't price match another retailer after placing the order.

Best Buy support rep said they will price match as long as there is a physical apple store within 25 miles.

ordered a 256 silver for my att plan through bb at 10:30 with a Nov. 10 ship date and it shows as contract pending on my att account and got confirmation still with 10th shipping from best buy. Numbers just jumped to nov 15 for silver and dec 15 for gray now for att. I originally ordered through att with December ship dates and cancelled that order since bb is apparently much faster if it holds up. We will see.

I called them and the customer service lady said they will match it but the phone is in pre order status, once it ships and delivers I can call them back and they'll refund me the $100.

I ordered from Best Buy specifically to get the Verizon model (CDMA+GSM) with the Qualcomm modem. I'm a T-Mobile customer. I paid in full when it went live (around 12:07am when the model I wanted went live, apparently each model went up every minute starting at 12:01am). Scheduled for pickup from store on November 3rd. :)

I also called about price matching. Twice, actually. I called a month ago when the listing initially went up and I noticed the discrepancy, then once more last night. I was getting sucked into the realm of bureaucratic secrecy when I tried to find out why such a discrepancy exists, so I sort of shut my mouth after that.

My store will match (credit the difference) when I come to pick up.

You might want to read through the thread. Best Buy has a single universal model that locks to the carrier of the first sim it activates on. Using a Verizon sim first will keep it unlocked.

Yeah, I know about the US Reseller Flex Policy, there's a really good thread about it posted yearly by a forum member here. I have a Verizon SIM coming in this Monday just for this purpose.

Edit: Here it is: https://forums.macrumors.com/thread...s-reseller-flex-policy.2079815/#post-25285028

Since it is a single model, it has to be the CDMA+GSM one otherwise Sprint and Verizon would not work.

Mine is a Nov 10 pick up at store, I have a Cancel button enabled.
[doublepost=1509117931][/doublepost]I see that BB offers Apple Care+ monthly for 9.99.

Does Apple refund a year of Apple Care+ premium if you trade in after a year?

I can see cancel button now but don’t think I’d do that since it’s kinda too late now. And I never got AppleCare so I’m not sure :( sorry

Does it matter if it’s a prepaid or postpaid Verizon SIM?
Never tried a prepaid SIM. I’d imagine it’d stay unlocked but it’s sort of a gray area because Verizon prepaid phones are actually SIM locked to Verizon until certain conditions are met.

In my experience, you can use an inactive SIM as long as you connect to wifi. The phone needs a way to communicate with Apple's activation servers. If you cannot connect to wifi then, yes, you need an active SIM.
I’ve tried it this way, but the unlocked aspect of it didn’t stick. After another SIM was inserted it SIM locked to that carrier.

Preordered from Best Buy in the store. Asked about price matching cause they are $100 more and she said “we don’t price match phones” then she went on and said “Apple makes special iPhones for Best Buy so the models aren’t the same as the Apple store” LOLOLOLOL

So it’s gonna be interesting when I pick it up and have words with the manager.

Dish out a boatload of knowledge regarding the models and show them the policy on Best Buy's own website.

I'm hoping to get it price matched once I receive it either over the phone or in store because I spoke to a Best Buy rep and she said they're unable to price match since it's its own unique model number "that can be used with any carrier in the U.S." and that Best Buy is the "only one that sells" that particular model.

This isn’t the answer I got from Best Buy. However I contacted Apple and they told me they don’t make specific phones for specific vendors.

But one can still get it unlocked for AT&T if you use a post-paid A&T account and paid for the iPhone X in full from Best Buy?

I was able to order a full-priced Verizon phone with no account info. That wasn't a bug/should create problems for me later, right? I know when you order from Apple you have to have an account.

Correct.

No issues at all.

Sounds like we spoke to the exact same person.

I got a pre-order delivery for Nov 3rd. I called customer service to ask a question. And they have a voicemail stating that delivery dates may change. I am not sure if they will stick to their delivery date on the confirmation email. Any ideas?

I'm in same boat. Hoping for the best but have a feeling Best Buy is going to let most of us Nov 3rd'ers down and we'll be getting the dreaded delay email.

Had one ordered from Apple this AM for the T-Mobile version but cancelled. Getting my friend in Los Angeles to head to her local BestBuy atm to preorder the Verizon version.

I'm in the UK, flying out there in just over a month. It's the GSM/CDMA version from Bestbuy right? should work in the UK fine?

Yes, Verizon model will work in UK.

Yes, Verizon model will work in UK.

Just reading online about people who purchased the iPhone 7 and it didn't work abroad. I don't think they activated it before leaving the US. I don't think I can just take the phone home and activate here, it has to be done with a Verizon sim I believe.

I'm guessing I buy the Verizon version. Stick the Verizon sim in, activate it on iTunes and then my UK sim card should work??
