You know, if I didn't already own a 6S, I'd be going for the SE. It's a phone that basically addresses all the things I dislike about the 6 series.

The 6S is a great phone, and I'll definitely get my money's worth out of it over the next year or two, but a big part of me really wants the SE. The 5 series design is so much better, and a lot less delicate/more durable than the 6 series....and that battery life, wow.

Apple was right, the 5 series was the best loved design
[doublepost=1458899525][/doublepost]I'd buy it and I'm still on the fence but I want the chamfered edge.

Your daughter can use the rear facing camera for FaceTime and be in front of a mirror.
Not a bad suggestion but she moves all over the house when talking to her best friend on FaceTime. She's already using an iPhone 5s camera so she will be fine with this. It was only a minor annoyance that the front facing camera was not upgraded. But really at the price, it's hardly a serious concern.

Really, come to think of it, she doesn't actually like FaceTime because the connection isn't the best and they often get disconnected or there is a delay. Her best friend insists on it.

Her other friends don't use the phone at all. They use text exclusively.

My kids either facetime, or text. They only make "traditional" calls to me or their mom.
My daughter texts me and her dad. So many poop emojis. It's the grandparents who get the phone calls. I wish my parents and in-laws would text. I have tmj and prefer texting to phone calls because it can hurt to talk some days. I'm lucky my dad at least does email.

Oh, I also get texts, but they seem to enjoy calling me when they get out of school - even though I'm outside waiting for them :D

I think I've finally hit the RAM wall. One of my favorite forums just dropped Tapatalk support, so I've had to browse and participate in that forum through a Safari tab. My apps are reloading a lot more than they used to, especially if I have a web page or two open.

1GB of RAM has been enough for me for almost 3 years. I look forward to an improved system with 2GB.

Seems like there are a good many of us that have the 6S and are tempted to switch for the SE. I wonder if they'll always keep the SE model at a lower tier than their flagship phone. Guess they might reconsider of millions buy the SE.

I'm so tempted to get one and sell the 6S

This will be my first smartphone and I chose the SE because I want a phone to be small, and because, as a starter, I didn't want a $750 phone.

But I'm very interested to know why folks who have the 6S are considering downgrading to a less-capable phone. I presume you'd take a big loss selling your phone used.

The SE addresses a lot of what I don't like about the 6S. E.G. The battery life, the design, durability, no protruding camera.

If I still had an iPhone 6, I'd be strongly considering getting the SE.

Less capable in ways that I couldn't care less about, aside from maybe the TouchID 2 sensor. I never use force touch, and sometimes it's an annoyance when I'm just trying to just long press. I couldn't care less about the front facing camera. The viewing angles are just fine even on the 5 and 5S so the lack of dual domain pixels won't bother me. It'll be even faster with a lower resolution screen to power through. I'll be able to get at least $600 for my 5+ month old used 6S, so I will actually make $70+ switching to the 64GB SE. Not that I really care - I'd probably spend up to $100 to switch to the SE form factor with all of the speed of the 6S. It's all really just personal preference - some people think it's insane to go back to a smaller screen, but for my uses these days, I just want that nice and compact design again. Others can't live without force touch or a bigger screen, etc. and that's why having more options is a win-win for everyone!

Just ordered my 64gb space grey SE! Ordered through AT&T and is quoted to ship on March 30th! So I should have it on launch day.

I have been carrying a 6s+ for 5 months and the size has made using it in certain situations almost impossible. I have large hands and one hand texting and operation is impossible and that giant phone in my pocket has never been comfortable at all. My solution last week was to pick up a cheap 5s off craigslist and carry it for a few days to see if the drastic change from the + was something I could live with. Well after a week now I definitely have the answer and that's absolutely yes !!! I didn't realize how easy one handed use is and how much I missed that part when I used to carry an iPhone 5. With the specs of the SE and the pocketability of the 4" size I get the best all around fit for me. I have huge hands and the 5s hasn't hampered my ability to use the phone at all. In fact it's made life easier. I don't even notice the phone in my pocket anymore nor do I drop it every night on my face in bed because it's so lite. Can't tell you how many times I did that with the +. That said its all subjective to the user. Web browsing and games, movies, etc are very crippled with the small screen but those are compromises I can live with given the ease of one handed operation. Now to sell this 5s and go pick up the SE next Friday.

First off I don't consider the SE a downgrade or less capable phone, it will do everything a 6s can except for 3D touch and some things it will do better such as battery. I came from an iPhone 5, had it for 2 years, when the 6 came out I contemplated getting it because of the bigger screen, I went to the store to look and play many times but I always walked out with staying with my 5 because I just loved it, it did everything I wanted and it was truly portable.

Then came the 6s and here I was again still using my iPhone 5 which worked perfectly (had 1 battery changed at apple under the recall and then I changed the 2nd battery a yr later myself and saved myself $80.00) so here I am again looking and playing with the 6s and still I decide to keep my 5. It wasn't until Verizon announced that those on unlimited data plans (me) were going to have to pay another $20.00 a month unless they renew there contract. So I bought the 6s to stay on my unlimited and avoid the $20.00 a month. I sold my 5 for $250.00. I've been using the 6s for about 5 months or so and there are more things I hate about it than I actually like.

I love the 4.7 screen and the thinness of the device and the speed is unbelievable until you use one you will see out fast it really is. However it stops there...I hate the power button on the side, I lost count how many times I hit it accidentally during the day it's dozens a day, I'm watching a u tube video on my lunch hr and I wanted to turn the volume up and what happens yeah I accidentally hit the power button and it turns off. There are too many other times I've accidentally hit it I don't want to make this long post. I hate the shell of the 6s makes the entire phone length soooo long, it's ackward in my pants pocket that goes from jeans to dress pants. The 6s is almost too thin as I find it weird to hold because of the rounded edges and it's very very slippery without a case and because of the added length of the phone, I've caught myself many times almost dropping it something I never did with my 5.

So long story short...when I saw they kept the power button on top and the internals all match the 6s or better (battery) I saw this as the perfect move to get back into the phone I could actually say I really enjoyed. I realize now there was a reason I kept hanging on to that 5 when Apple kept releasing newer phones, the 5 worked for me, did everything I needed and had a great form factor. I can't wait for my SE to arrive next week and get back to why I fell in love with Apple.

except for 3D touch
To be honest, I don't think 3D Touch would be as phenomenal as it being on larger phones. The two things I considered 3D Touch valuable are the 3D Touch trackpad and multitasking. But why they are valuable is because the 4.7" and 5.5" form factor is large to an extent that you cannot comfortably do it the old way. That's why 3D Touch is here to rescue.

On your 5S, all texts - or for most of the people the entire screen - are under the reach of your thumb comfortably, which is what 3DT trackpad is meant to achieve. The same logic applies to the home button which can be double clicked comfortably thanks to the smaller form factor.

Peek and Pop and Shortcuts are nice additions, but in my daily use they are not game changing enough... yet.

I just hate my 6S+ every time I wanna touch the top of the screen, or the opposite edge of the phone. Yes, for some two hands can rule this thing. But my instinct still tells me to one-hand it after months of use. :\

WOW! Thanks for all the replies to my question about switching from the 6S to the SE! As someone who has never had a smartphone, I was unaware of all this. (I just figured I wanted a small phone.) All the above is very encouraging, and I am more impatient than ever to get my new phone.

I've been thinking about it but I'm most likely going with a no. I'll find a reason to go back to the 4" but once the 7 comes out I'll think of reasons to go back to a bigger size :p the 6+ is nice but a pain to handle sometimes so I might just get the 4.7 7. the SE would've been a lot more tempting if it was offered with 128gb.

I took the plunge too and ordered one for myself! Figured I would try it and see where it goes...I just might sell my 6S Plus and keep my SE

If anyone in here would like my perfect 64gb 6s, please message me!

Personally can't wait to lose the 0.7"

I'm getting the new SE 64GB Gold to replace my 64GB 6+

I've got big hands and find the size awkward sometimes, and now that a smaller easier to handle phone has all that I need, the 6+ can go.
I got the 6+ previously to fill the gap the iPad mini left behind for media consumption, but I've found I hardly use my phone for Netflix or anything like that, so this was another deciding factor in swapping to the SE.

I know it's early but there are a few tech reviewers of the new SE that have got there hands on the actual SE early but none of them have mentioned the new microphones that Apple noted on the list of what's new for the SE.

I'm anxious to know what that means "new microphones", does it mean how people hear you on the phone when making a call? or some kind of noise cancellation or how it picks up outside sound when using the new HD videos feature? Anyone care to guess?

You're asking for guesses? Sure, I'll guess: Microphones that pick up less of the background noise, or perhaps are better tuned to the human voice so that it's easier to understand your words at the other end. Note: My guess is founded upon complete and utter ignorance.
