Who's buying the new MacBook Pro?

computer today !!!!I just got off the phone with Apple customer support and they said they wont be available in stores for at least another week
I wan't to see one in stores NOOOOW
Is there any reason to wait a little bit so that I dont get the very first batch off the line? Or do they not really fix any bugs until the next refresh anyway?

I just ordered one. I've waited months for this. My other laptop was only a year old but I couldn't give up the temptation
Where are most people buying them from? I know many places like Amazon, etc. don't get them this fast. I have a Apple Business Agent I deal with. Since you buy directly from the store through them you get them fast through the Apple store. How many others use Apple Business Agents on here? What I like about this Agent is if you contact him first before ordering often he can throw something in extra for free. Sometimes it's been things such as software such as Parallels, books on Mac OS X, even in one case extra memory. I just negotiate every purchase before I order. What are other people's experience with Apple Business Agents on here? If you are interested I use his store at www.avcconsulting.info/applestore. I just called my store and she said they had them...and in the other thread people have already gone and bought them.
The person you spoke to lied.
They have them - just called. Got the impression they don't have all the models because she asked "which one I wanted." But my store definitely has the low-end 15"ers. In the other thread some guy said his store had both 15" but no 17".
But seriously - call your local store - some definitely have them.
I'm leaving in 30 min to get mine.

The LED screen technology is available on the 15" models only. The 17" models still use LCD screen technology. From the Apple web site:

Backlit by light emitting diodes (LEDs), the display weighs less and is more power efficient than the cold cathode fluorescent lamps (CCFLs) which most notebooks employ, and provides full brightness immediately after the system is turned on.
My current system is an MBP C2D 17" that I bought about 6 months ago. I would need to see one of the new systems "live and in person" with the HD 17" inch screen before upgrading.

True, but after I got disappointed about the MBPs being updated and not sure on what to buy anymore - I started to think. Anything is going to be FAR better than what I have now. Buying a MacBook without the LED screen or bigger processor won't really matter to me because the MacBook specs are SO advanced from the desktop I have now it's unreal.

I just bought mine from the Buffalo location this morning.
Its sexy.
ps - How is this upgrade not enough? SR, LEDs, 2G ram standard, upgraded Video card and HD on the 17". The only thing they could have done more was 256-512 instead of 128-256 but 512 is unnecessary in many ways. Some people will never be happy.
