Just bought the 11 inch, 1.6, 128 with 4 GB Ram.

Perfect for travel, since I'll run Office out of Boot Camp. I'll have to think about Parallels with the 1.6, although Ram wise it should be fine.

Again--ask yourself what you're doing with your machine. 95% plus of road warrior business-travel types (like me) need Office integration and the ability to use office suite software, do emails, give presentations on the road.

This is like an iPad, but with those abilities. Just what I wanted.

If I was a hard core video and coding types, or a game player, I'd get a Macbook Pro and deal with the weight.

Why the smaller processor--likely a solution to the heat issue along with the SSD flash.

Nice, very nice.

That is such a helpful post. Thank you so much for your contribution.

Funny says the guy who also just wasted space, but ummm, he talked about financing, I said why bother? Financing is the worst route...better of to just save up for it....

But thanks to you for contributing, deeek

Hmm I am glad my car broke down yesterday I was going to go to the apple store to look at new laptops!!! SOOO I will just do that today I am not sure which one I want though so i sort of want to look at both of them!! Plus I want something light for my flight when I leave in dec!!! :D

The upgrade to 4GB is only $90, which is really not bad. Still, I was really hoping for a higher max RAM limit.

Yeah, 90€ for 4GB is not bad at all. It would cost me around the same if I did that myself (I know it's soldered but if it wasn't).

I just need 1389€ from somewhere, donations are welcome :p

Me!!!!!

I bet the mrs that of the store came back online on my last refresh I'd order it and the git did :)

Ordered basic 13" with 4th ram should be fine for me

Sucks I gotta wait a week for it's delivery though!!!!!

hello i was thinking about the 13" mba with 4gm ram. But im curious there is no cd drive??? so do i have to buy the super drive to install something and also read i can connect to a optical drive wirelessly from a mac or pc how does this?/

If I recall correctly, my question pertained to the amount of disk space needed, not financing options. It's odd that you would choose to offer financial advice in an unrelated forum, in response to an unrelated question.

In other words, run along and play, dearie. The adults are talking.

got mine. :)

Not sure yet. First I said certainly not (2G), now where 4G and 256 SSD are available I am tempted. What holds me back though is a) the lack of back-lit keyboard as I used that every day and b) the old C2D, 10 weeks before its final good by... At least on the high end they could have left it in (or bto). I guess I will wait for now.

yeppa! :D

I just bought the 13.3" 1.86/2/128 figuring that I can upgrade the memory myself to 4gb should there be the need.

I'm on a tight budget this time around and managed to offload my RevC on eBay couple of days ago so this changeover will only cost me $100.

decided against going for the 2.13ghz model as you had to have a 256 gb flash which I don't really need.

pity there wasn't an option to have the 2.13gz in the 128gb model.

but I ain't complaining!
many have questioned the real speed difference between the 1.86 and the 2.13 in the past in these forums anyhow … …

Just ordered my 2.13 fully upgraded also. Can't wait! Though I see a 3 to 5 business day to shipping. Guess I'm not so fast with my hands. :D

I was going to post my old clunker rev. b, SSD, on Ebay, but than realized i'd be buying the exact same machine if I was to replace the 13" (I did buy the 11" inch though).

Correct me if i'm wrong, but I see very little difference with these new 13" models.( I don't have to have 4GB, but as a $100 upgrade it's a good option)

Just ordered! 11" with 4GB RAM 64 GB SSD. This is the computer I've been wanting and lusting after for about a year now! An iPad with an OS. Can't wait till it ships! :apple:

Ordered Base model when stores came up.

And it is prepared for shipment.....woohoo

I would cancel your order if you ever want 4GB of RAM - 'cause I don't think you can upgrade the memory yourself in the future... there isn't a RAM slot to be found:

Yeah, I was looking at a 1.6Ghz 11" too, but I have a RevB 1.6Ghz with 128GB SSD. Not sure it'll be much of an upgrade, and I'll lose the backlit keyboard! :(

Haha, my macbook pro 1,1 (2006) had 256MB of graphics memory! Man the MacBook Air is so 2005 :p

The MBA has never been about high-end specs. And I bet 90% of people never use more than 256MB of Graphics Memory. You don't need a 1GB dedicated chip to surf and write on the go - which is what the MBA is designed for.

I have the 15" MBP and I've never switched to the 9600 chip - only ever used the 9400m integrated.

This is turning into a damn expensive month. Just got a 27" i7 iMac and now cannot resist the 11 inch 128/4GB/1.6. Will be a perfect compliment for when I'm travelling.

I just ordered mine here in Japan, but the apple store japan website says 2 days to ship and the email says i will get it from 28 to 30 oct. i must wait a week to receive it!! :(

I decided to order the cheapest model to replace my iPad. I have an iMac 27" i7 so I just want something light and small, the MBA 11.6" is just perfect. 64Gb SSD is small, but it is cheaper to get a mini flash memory or even a mini external hard drive than to pay $200 to get the 128Gb model.

I didnt know I wont be able to upgrade the ram, so I will stick to the 2gb model I bought and resell it if I find it too slow and get the 4gb model.
