I'm completely happy with my 2007 MacBook Pro.

It's the love of my life. My girlfriend's jealous.

:D

I agree with you there! I love my Macbook C2D 2.16GHz, my wife is jealous, she has no idea I plan on updating to a MBP soon...the four of us will be so happy! :D

yep.

I am ashamed at how much I love my new macbook pro. I've wanted one since I was 16-17, now I'm 22.5 and I got one 3 weeks ago. I can't stop cleaning it. Have you seen the show, 'Monk'? I'm like that. It's disturbing.

My baby is 17", 2.6, 2GB RAM (dont think I need more for now), 7200rpm 200GB HD, hires def (1920x1200:eek:). It is the fastest machine I have sat before. The OS is... just the best. Computer "Speed" isn't just about processing power etc, it's what the OS does with it. Leopard does a ****-load with it and there's room for dessert too. I was stressing it to see how much it can take and I ran XP on parellels along with photoshop CS, transmission, adium, skype, opera, firefox, safari,...I forget what else... all the while watching an episode of some TV series on VLC. It didn't skip. Oh, and my home folder is filevaulted which means that any operations on my files during that time (VLC) also included encryption/decryption overhead. I am just amazed.

I believe many people complain because when they move to MacOSX they expect way more, and when something doesn't go their way they start whining. To ye who sayeth, "nyah nyan leopard nyah filevault nyah nyah hot nyah nyah expensive nyah nyah fanboys nyah nyah 3D Dock nyah transparent menu nyah", I say "Well then, Go find something better.".

It isn't perfect, but it is close. Windows, on the other hand, was close to "good" with XP but lost the ball with Vista, they dont even know what that is.

Oh and, you know what? I like leopard's 3d dock. I read the reviews and the rants about the horrible dock, the illegible menu bar, the crappy stacks implementation, and was expecting that i'd be disabling the 3d dock and making the menu bar opaque on the first day. I didn't and still haven't. I have all my applications on a grid stack, it's just fantastic. I like the pseudo 3d effect. And I dont mind the menu bar (can you seriously not read what it says? Are you blind?).

About here I will end my rant. This is why I don't use forums, I started out to write "yes" and even tried to keep it relatively short and now I can't stop writ

ditto. My girlfriend's Mac is a black 2.0 macbook. I showed her the way, and the force was strong inside her. (It doesn't take much to take to a mac). Now she's jealous for both obvious reasons.

Overall I have been happy with mine however I have had issues and have sent in twice for over heating and having a bad fan and battery. I have a Fall 06' model and I only get an hour on the battery life and when I sent it in and it came back, the startup is strange. It freezes every once in a while and shuts down randomly but it has served it's purpose.

I want to to just grab a new one with the SR chip and start fresh so I can dual boot windows. But im also considering just getting a Dell XPS M1330

But it has been a good notebook. Im happy with it.

My MBP (2.16GHz Core Duo) gets hotter than I'd like, so my wife uses it - pretty much always on her desk. My MacBook (2.0GHz Core Duo) is much better. Doesn't get overly hot (and, yes, the fans in the MBP do work, but the case transmits too much heat to use conformably on my lap).

Bought a 2.33 MBP on Thanksgiving Weekend, and within 24 hours it completely died and had to return it, and decided to upgrade to a Santa Rosa 2.6 MBP
upgraded to 4gigs ram for something crazy like $40 from new egg, and have completely replaced my business pc setup excluding Quickbooks cause i cant seem to be able to install it on parallels, have not attempted bootcamp yet. Complains? mail crashes occasionally, wireless wep is way slower then WEP disabled, and accessing networked PC files is real slow. Other then that, im running CS3 super smooth (on a daily professional level, its what i do for work) and have Logic Studio and Reason 4.0 running FLAWLESSLY.

love it.

I love my macbook pro that I just bought last week.

I got the 2.2ghz base model, and in a few weeks I plan to upgrade the ram to 4GB.. I'll replace the hdd when they make 320gb 7200 rpm models :)

My screen isn't perfect, the bottom part is darker than the top, but it only bothers me when I'm looking at a solid color, which isn't very often.

Overall, it is a very nice machine and it is the first laptop I've ever owned.

The backlit keyboard is my favorite part.

I love my MB to death. Leopard has been a bit of a mixed bag though. The one thing about Leopard that keeps me from reverting back to Tiger is screen sharing.

The black MB I have now is a replacement for a 15" MBP that I really loved. The MBP was damaged twice so I couldn't justify repairing it a third time. The DVD drive on it is broken and the keyboard has buttons that don't work.

With my new MB and I just stuck the MBP clam shelled under my LCD TV and network it and use screensharing. I am sure the mac mini owners out there discovered how great this is immediately. I would love to fix the MBP of course but it does make one hell of a media server.

It allows me to leave the MBP alone and update it and use it basically as if there was no hardware damage at all. Send video files over to the MBP from my sofa and drop them into visualhub and convert it remotely. Once they are all prepped and ready to go just flick the source button on the LCD and BOOM! there it is. I have never been more happy with my media set up than I am now.

Best "pc" I've ever owned so far, and unlike others here, for me Leopard is rock steady and a pleasure to use (especially with Quicksilver)

Me and the thousands of other people with cracked MB plastic.

Doug

I don't even want to deal with that. I know it's only a matter of time, though (like the explodaMagsafe). If it happens (when it happens), I guess I'll do the Apple store thing, or the phonecall to Apple.com thing. If it happens after the warranty runs out, I'll either sell it or go on using it if the crack is tolerable.

It's a shame the MB isn't half as tough as the iBook. Those had their flaws too, but I bought a 4-year old iBook a few months ago, and it was undoubtedly a tougher machine than my Macbook. I'm interested in seeing how long my MB lasts. It's definitely got the stats to remain usable for at least five solid years, but it's anyone's guess if the hardware will hold together for half that time.

We'll see. If and when it breaks down, I'll read the complaints on whatever Apple's selling then, and decide if it's worth buying. If not, I'll get a Thinkpad. These days, I'm more interested in a laptop that'll hold steady than I am in one that looks good, but breaks down easily.

With regards to the thread, I've got a Macbook, and I'm okay with it. Best part of it's the operating system: Tiger. The more I use it, the more I become sure that I'm probably not going to switch to 10.5 until 10.6 comes out. That may change if some programs go Leopard only in the next two years, but it's doubtful. Tiger is the XP of OS X; there'll be lots of support for it for a while to come.

absolutely adore my macbook, its a great desktop equivalent and a portable powerhouse for apps (i dont play pc games anymore)
will love it even more with the next apple sw update

I am amazed by my new MacBook. It's my first mac, with definitely more to come in the future. The OS is so easy to use, for example, in finder everything is there so you can just search for what you want and boom! It appears straight away!

So yes, I am very happy with my Mac Laptop. ;)

I totally agree...i bought my black macbook in september last year but it took me ages to decide between that and the 15" mbp (seems like a common problem)...after getting it and using it for a short-while i slightly regretted not going for the more powerful laptop but now i'm used to it i know i made the right decision!!!

I haven't upgraded to leopard yet because i totally love tiger but i'm sure i'll feel the same way after using leopard for a while. Expect i'll upgrade pretty soon, cant wait :D

I love my Macbook, it flies with 4GB of RAM. I also loved my iBook, I had a "good one", I guess, never any problems (G3 800mhz 14"). My iBook seems more sturdy and has a great keyboard, but I am loving the Macbook keyboard and the screen is great.

I've had many Apple's over the years, it's funny how attached you get to them, more-so than PC's or other hardware. I still miss my Apple //e, which I sold at the time to get a IIgs. IIgs was a better machine with a great look and RGB display, but I still missed the the //e. It's funny, I never felt this way about my Dell. LOL.

I'm delighted. I bought a refurb MBP a week before MWSF. Apple would have to do something absolutely spectacular to MBPs before I would regret buying it. A speed bump and multi-touch trackpad wont cut it.

I Luv my MBP I think its Flawless! I thought i had a sleep problem but it was just me being impatient!! People who are waiting for the next best thing, GOD bless you. However I like to live in the here and now so I bought a MY MBP and S*&^ canned my DELL XPS 1210. Even got a grand for it!!! I luv my MBP.
