I have a question, I'm thinking of doing the Best Buy trade in but it says it could take up to 14 days. I have an old first gen iPhone sitting around, if I pop the SIM card out of my 3GS, can I put it in the 2G for the next 2 weeks and still be a-okay and even retain my $30 unlimited data package?

I did the best buy trade in and was using an lg VU for a couple days with no change to my data plan so I think with your First gen phone you should be fine

I also did a horrible thing today I bought a 16gig 3GS full price from best buy which I will use for two weeks and then return when the iphone 4 gets here. I thought I could live without it for two weeks but I realized that I rather would not. :p

Jeez, how cheap are you? Is it not a serious relationship? Are you a troll?

Hehe I was planning on giving it to her regardless. She offered me 100 dollars, but I am giving it to her for free. I should have re-worded my question. I just wanted to know how much more I could possibly get on craigslist or ebay. She wants it really bad and I wouldn't do that to her. I've been with her for 5 years so it's definitely a serious relationship.

Selling my iPhone 3GS tomorrow afternoon for $350, I'm sort of prepared though because I did this last year same time about but I have to go back to using this little P.O.S. Nokia that I got for like $5 from Wal-Mart.(HELP! I cant even browse the web!!!)

My iPhone 3G White 16gig is up now on ebay, i know i am a little late joining the boat, but i wanted to make sure i was able to borrow a phone till launch xD
Mine is going up tomorrow with iOS4 jailbroken. Should fetch enough to pay for the iPhone 4 and possibly then some. Doesn't hurt that I just got a perfect refurb from Apple because of dust & HAIR, yes HAIR under the screen. Only a week old and 1 year left on AppleCare. This 3 or 5 day auction (haven't decided yet) ought to be fun!

I sold my 3GS back in march and have been using a P.O.S motorola since. Why so soon? A guy at work offered me $450 for it. Needless to say I'm fairly anxious to get an iPhone 4.

Sold my 3GS 32 GB yesterday for $450 via Craigslist. Very psyched about having enough cash to cover the 4 and then some. Now I just have to get used to using my old non-smartphone for two weeks.

I guess I'll try craigslist, and if that doesn't work I can use buymytronics (will get less, but at least something).

a question for everyone who sold early, i heard ATT removes your data plan if you arent using an iphone

has that happened to you and are you mad that they are going to force you to the new data plans?

It didn't happen to me. Maybe because I kept using the sim? Although my account shows that I'm using the moto, I still got the upgrade eligibility bump.

Although I already have mine up on ebay ATM, I'm going to call my Apple store tomorrow and see if they will replace my White iPhone because of the cracks + some dust under screen.
In my ebay auction, I mentioned the cracks and said that they would likely be able to get it replaced but I'm sure I could get more if I did it myself. :)

Basically the title should read "Who didn't budget their money so they could keep their current iPhone and buy the new one".

I know I know, you sold your old iPhone so you could get "top dollar" before the market was flooded. If making an extra $60 dollars or so is that important to you, maybe iPhone isn't the phone for you. Now I know my stance a pretty arrogant one but what ever happened to saving for your high ticket items?

I'm not sure you realise how much of an idiot that makes you sound.

if apple told you they were going to discount $60 off the new iphone two weeks after its release, would you wait?
