Anyone who's been using the iPhone 6 completely naked, (without case or protection) how has your phone been holding up in terms of scratches?? Especially the back?? I'm quite careful as to not drop my phone just concerned about scratches and would appreciate anyone who's been using it naked to come in help.

Thanks
I've been using my 6+ naked since launch day. The screen has all sorts of micro-scratches and a few deep scratches, which may have come from my girlfriend's diamond earrings. The back of the phone looks good as new though. I have a 9-5 desk job, and i usually carry the phone in my front pocket by itself.

I've never used a case since the original 8gb iPhone in 2007. I upgrade every year, so maybe the wear and tear never had a chance to materialize?

I carry the iPhone in my rear pocket when wearing pants, and the front cargo pocket when wearing shorts. I love the looks of the iPhone and don't want to cover that up.

I rock my 6+ naked until I see someone else with a shattered screen. That always makes me super paranoid and sends me running back to my case for a week or two.

Oddly enough I've never personally run into anyone with a shattered 6/6+.

The only complain I have with the leather is it rips over time. I have the midnight blue, and in about 6 months it's ripped and off shade from every different angle. Although, I love the feel of it. Adds grip, and elegance. However I've come to realize that going naked is a completely different feeling. You end up enjoying more of the design of the phone.

I am not a careless person but when I am going to spend so much money on a phone I intend to enjoy it and mummifying it and being careful with it is not my idea of enjoyment. I used no screen protector for my 6 Plus. There were zero screen scratches, micro scratches. The phone lived mostly in my pocket. Sometimes with keys! It was thrown into my bag when I was running late for work, often with keys in there. And it got a few drops on hard floor from about knee level, the sound of which scared me and a few from higher range onto carpet. There were no really bad marks. The Apple had some slight marks, maybe one scratch. However the back, the bottom had a scuffing almost as if someone took sandpaper to it. I did not understand why this consistently happened. Click here to see pictures but to be honest I have described it better than the pictures.

I have bought a PRODUCT(RED) case for my 6S Plus only to have it match my watch band... when the phone is naked it will be matching my link bracelet and this is the look I think I will be sticking to.

Bought a case for mine out of the gates but debating just buying AppleCare and rocking it naked. Feels great in the hand. Who's going naked this time around?

You "rock it naked?" Sounds like something they do in Saudi Arabia to their women. A case will definitely save it from all those pesky nicks from the rocks.

My 6 Plus is naked. Always has been. I did drop it once though, it cracked the screen and bend the frame. I had to pay a little over $500 for a replacement phone.

Need a case, it's not about the scratches, these things are too light and slippery! I need a better grip! I use this INCIPIO case. It's like a lighter Otterbox :)

How did it cost 500? Apples warranty replacement for the entire phone is 329.

Not in Denmark, no. The price for a warranty replacement here is 3300DKK, which is equivalent to $500 (USD) with today's rates. An iPhone 6 replacement under warranty is slightly cheaper.

New iPhone user here...phone is absolutely gorgeous naked. The quality is so evident when I touch it, sooo much nicer than any of my previous Android phones (my wife's HTC One M8 is very close, though). As such, I only kept my CaseMate Naked Tough on for about a month...I HAD to hold the phone itself. As a compromise, I went with a Slickwraps skin and Zagg screen protector. This not my actual phone, but the skin is exactly like this with the silver Apple logo and side buttons highly contrasting....looks fantastic!

I've been using all my phones naked. I did buy cases at first but even the Apple leather case was too bulky for me . I plan to use the 6s naked since I fear cases can trap debris inside tainting the finish.

Interesting tidbit. I just got done listening to the latest episode of the podcast 'Upgrade' from RelayFM and Jason Snell said that when he held the new phones they had a grippier texture to them which he thinks must be associated with the fact that they're using a different aluminum on this years devices. Let's see how that turns out when I get mine, maybe I'll be going case-less more often again :)

That's easily avoided by simply removing the phone from the case and wiping it down on a regular basis.

So is it okay to use my phone naked? I don't normally drop my phone, but was worried about scratches and everyday use tear

Will be getting my new iPhone 6s Plus 128gb this Friday and after setting it up and having a play, will put in a case. This will probably last for 3 months or so, then, maybe after Christmas I'll "go naked" for a while, the it'll be "on and off" for the rest of the 12 months until it all starts again with iPhone 7!

i ordered a Mujjo case for my incoming 6S. I have a Mujjo case for my 5S, and I like the design and the fact that I can carry my credit card around with my phone and I don't need to bring my wallet when just stepping out to walk in the neighbourhood.

There is quite a bit of added bulk with this case, but i think it is worth it for the convenience of leaving your wallet at home. I've always said that I wouldn't mind a thicker iPhone, so it works for me.

I have found though, that only after a year on my 5S the leather is peeling off the plastic case underneath... :( though it has saved my phone from multiple drops from waist level onto concrete so... trade-offs.

Actually there are some federal regulations against it if you live in the US but if you write to the DAS (Dept of Apple Security) in DC they should give you permission.

Hahahahah. Was just getting opinions.

I don't like bulky cases and I have hated every clear plastic case I have owned, except for one, The Moshi iGlaze XT. I love this case so much I purchased two of them, because it looks like every time I purchase a case I like, they stop making it. I really recommend this case.

Do you know if this works with full screen tempered glass protectors like Cinder?
I'll also be looking at the incipio feather when they come out with their S model. I understand the case doesn't come up above the glass, so it should be ok with Cinder.

If the damn phones weren't so slippery I'd carry them without a case. The ONLY reasons I use a case are
1) So I can hold the phone without dropping it.
2) My cases often have a kickstand so I can prop up the phone.

I wish they'd stop with the thin phone obsession. Sure they look great, but I can't hold onto a super thin slab of glass and aluminum, so I end up putting on a case. So I lose the battery life a thicker phone could afford, while gaining NOTHING.
