A few months ago I bought a Sony RX 100 M3 camera.....and one of my concerns was about protecting the LCD screen from scratches and such. People on DPR (Digital Preview) mentioned using a microfibre pouch such as which comes with many sunglasses or can be purchased separately. Hm.... So the next time I was in REI I checked things out and lo and behold they had these. I bought one and brought it home, and the camera fit perfectly into it. No weight or bulk added, yet protection for the screen if I had the camera in a bag or my pocket. Pretty cool....
Fast-forwarding to now and last night it occurred to me that maybe this would also work for my new iPhone 6 Plus.....
It sure does. The iPhone fits beautifully in this pouch, either alone or while wearing her Apple Leather case. Bingo! Another added protection -- this time, of course, for that screen, keeping it from being scratched by grit or crud in a pocket or bag. Most of my pockets are clean but in some situations I've worn pants in places where stuff could accumulate in a pocket, gritty stuff or crud which normally wouldn't matter or be noticed....until I stick my iPhone in there. Why take chances? So now along with my Apple leather case I've got this sunglasses pouch I got at REI for additional protection in situations where it might be warranted. I think the brand name of this microfiber pouch is "SunCloud," and it was only about $5.00 at REI. Not something to use when one needs to use the phone frequently or pull it out of a pocket in a hurry to respond to a call, but useful in situations where the environment where the iPhone will be temporarily stashed might not be optimal.....

Anyone tried these leather sleeves yet? Joli Original Smooth Leather Case? Nice to have it out then just slide it in the case on the go
For my iPhone 5s I used the Sena leather pouch/sleeve.....it did a great job of protecting both front and back of the phone while it was in my pocket or bag, but.....I found it a bit of a pain when the phone would ring and I'd be in a hurry to get the thing out of the pouch to see who was calling and to be able to respond in time. Also, yes, one time I was pulling the phone out of the pouch and it went flying out of my grip and landed on the hard tile floor of the store I was in at the time. Thankfully no damage done, but it was scary!
I decided that this time around, time for a different approach.....
Most of the time, just Apple Leather case, and then in situations where I am not sure about the pocket or bag into which I'm planning to put the iPhone (potential for grittiness, rough surface and scratching), then add the microfiber pouch. No way I'm using the pouch all the time, though!
