so whats a huge screen for if not consuming media? animal emojis?
No desire to waste my time watching kneelball for one.. But why squeeze your display down to view 1/3 a page JUST so you can have 2 things on screen?
Granted copy/paste would work good on a split screen like that.

Half a screen viewing MR, type a response and see 1 line of text while running split screen. Again, not addicted to the phone. I use the phone, i'm not glued to it.
If I *DO* want to watch something while I work... there's this 65" TV next to me. not a 3" screen.
And no.. I don't watch TV/Movies while i'm out.. If I am watching TV/Movies it's on the iPad when I'm in the woods.
I'm the designated driver anymore.. so when i'm traveling My iPhone is in my pocket unless i have a podcast or audiobook going, then it tends to land on my wireless charger.

BTW: i'm *NOT* against split screen... but on a 6.5" screen? i'll pass.. iPad yes.

i'm just saying something like this could take advantage of the xs max's screen. you never had to stop what you're doing/watching just to do something else? i mean do you ever watch a movie or tv show on your tv and browse on your phone? its called multitasking....

honestly just kinda pisses me off that apple doesn't take full advantage of the most powerful chip on the market

I’m not an Android person. I’ve owned almost every iPhone made. I’ve used both. I’ve tested both for a living. I’m just agreeing with OP & finding in interesting that people will defend the most powerful processor in a phone ever not doing PIP.

Yes, I watch TV on a TV and browse on my phone, at the same time.

Do you have an iPhone, though?
I'm not clear as to why this feature is necessary for someone who already can do it with the phone they have.

Maybe PIP isn't a big deal to most people with iPhones?

iOS 9 for iPad. Nougat a YEAR later.
Does everyone have to do research for you?

show me where you can play a video on ipad in split screen? i mean TRUE split screen. where the video doesn't pause when you click in to the other screen.

whats the point of split screen if only one screen works at a time?

I'm doing it right now with YouTube and Safari on my iPad.

I can watch Netflix or YouTube tv on my iPad while using another app. I’ve done it many times.

We said other phones have the feature already, and I asked if the goal was to have the same features on all brand models, but no one answered.

No. I’m honestly just debating on side of OP regarding XSM. I agree with them even though I wouldn’t use it. The phone is more than capable and many would like it.

Honestly i'd like to see usage data on split screen.
How many actually use it, and not a one time thing.

Me personally i've done it once or twice on my iPad, but it's kinda meh for me.
65" TV or half an ipad?
99% of the time i'm using the ipad it's in the house, it does go with me on vacation.. but I go to the woods, I have no internet anyway.

Love my XS Max, but, it would be pretty cool if it could do this. I'm not gonna kid, there has been numerous times I wish I could have two windows open at a time. I've wanted to be able to use me Skype for Business app and then look at my emails at the same time when I am in a conference call. Doesn't mean the answer should be "get a different phone". Just would be great to have as a feature.
