So what is your preference?

Now that i've seen i'd rather stay with iOS 6 like design (slightly changed here and there, where it really needs change).

This design won't last even two more OS releases i can bet with my left nut. It's just shallow. People complain about greay icons in the Finder sidebar and thats just few icons. I personally like it grey there, but i wouldn't want whole OS to be like that.

Whatever design theory they have created and convinced themselfs that it makes sense is full of ****.

They called the original iPhone a iPod with phone service and that it wouldn't make it. You need to realize that apple tells us what we what and not the other way around. If you don't like that business model then you should jump ship. When the iPhone 5s or 6 comes out there will be lines and wait lists for days. Your words mean nothing to people who like forward thinking and innovation coupled with a great user experience.

I have to agree. I don't see iOS 7 design lasting more than a year or two before people get sick if seeing bland interfaces and pastel colors. It will get outdated quickly. iOS before 7 lasted 6 years. That's quite a testament to Scott Forstall. It oozed class and was inviting. iOS 7 throws all that away for a new fad. I just hope they do t try to bring any if that nonsense to OSX.

Show me forward thinking and innovation, because right now Apple is still sailing calm seas thanks to Steve Jobs. Make one mistake and it will be whole new picture.

You are right come tomorrow Apple will release a new iPhone and they will sell ******** of them. Question is how long it will work for them when they 'innovate' such great software designs.

You can ride on a wave of old days glory only for so long.

Old days? Its currently the main player. Apple is the richest company in the world. Apple's software works and works great. No need for phone bumping, octal cores, or commercials trashing the other's product. They are on top and as long as they don't introduce 12.9 inch cellphones they will remain there. Sure tech bloggers who have nothing better to do will voice their opinion but normal people will line up and buy their products. its not changing it will remain the same.

Class? iOS 6 looks as classy as a Vegas hotel (and however fancy they are, there is not one classy hotel in Vegas).

This is what iOS 6 reminds me of.

Why can't people just accept that everyone has an opinion. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean that it "sucks" for everyone. I personally like it. Some others may not. I'm fine either way. Upgrade when it comes out if you want. Don't upgrade if you don't want to. No one is stopping you either way.

I'm relieved that someone has taken the time out to write about how they feel about the iOS 7 aesthetic; noone has even bothered yet, which is rather unusual for Macrumors...

I'd say whether I liked it or not, but I don't expect anyone to care - and why should you? So I won't - I'll keep it to myself, and spare you the effort of needing to fret over it :)

Somewhat relevant, but if not, enjoy a fabulous song, regardless:

It's a great design. I understand people can't deal with change. I can and it's awesome.

While I agree that some of the complainers are simply people who, as you put it, can't deal with change. Not everybody against iOS 7's new design is against it because it's change. Design wise, they're are some concerns. Also, IMO, it just looks ugly. I like the new features but wow… They went from one extreme to another. Again… IMO.

Either way, iOS 7 won't be Apple's downfall. The general consumer doesn't care about design. They just care that it works and it does. Not to mention the fact that Apple's products are deemed by the general non-biased public as "cool".

I think the problem is that some people really just expected Apple to do something better. It didn't have to be mind-blowing but perhaps something above average.

No, a troll is someone who creates a new thread to complain and whine about things that can't be changed, not constructively but trashing some else's work.

Just asking why?? why??? why did the chicken crossed the road??? why???

Your right in pointing out that asking why the chicken crossed the road won't change the fact that the chicken had already crossed the road. However, iOS 7 is still in development. What if people didn't complain about the issues with the Xbox One? We'd still have the weird restrictions because Microsoft would think that people are okay with them.

To the OP: iOS 7 doesn't lack design. That's impossible.

Thats awesome but some people will get it. Having flames on a sports car will be better than having leather in its natural color on the seats. its sad but its true. I hope apple leaves the os as is and builds on its unobtrusive simplicity.

If we are talking car analogies, to me it feels like iOS 6 was the car with leather seats in their natural color, and iOS 7 replaced that natural colored leather with bleached out white plastic.

Ah no it didn't. It went from a Lamborghini countach to a Ferrari 458 Italia. It's ok to not feel good about change you will wake up one day and find that you like it.

Sure, it's ok not to like change, and no, some changes you never get used to. The thin font of iOS 7 is never going to stop hurting my eyes, and I really hope they change that yellow color of the UI text in the Notes app, because my eyes are never going to see that well on a white background.

It's tragic

Get one of these tablets that can be used as a cell.:D

Is that a Note 8? Considering one, actually. Not that I'll hold it up to my ear like that, of course (I'll just use the speakerphone, or a headset). But a tablet with phone functions is actually useful. If Apple ever made an iPad with phone capabilities, I bet they'll sell well.

Probably would, just not to me. I like my compact phone, Tablet sized iPad and laptop sized MacBook. I can see why someone who wants one piece of tech might like something like that though.

Things don't stand still. I have lived to witness more than one such occasion. Apple is not an exception.
